what's not mentioned here is that the free content on the Yamaha website is substantially bigger for the 900. I was in doubt which one to go for so I compared the downloadable playlists for both. I counted 349 songs available for the 700, and 462 for the 900 (every category is bigger in the 900, the biggest difference is in the Dance and Pop&Rock styles). From what I've heard so far, these are very useful registrations of famous songs to play along with, a nice tool to have. I haven't compared the expansion packs, but I guess there too the 900 will have an advantage.
Im a proud owner of the Sx900 and genos Now my only problem is hearing both keyboards sx900 and Genos side by side you can hear the difference and its huge even playing same styles and voices (I know theres a price difference ) the sx900 still a great keyboard!! for example The drums on the genos sound way better than the sx 900 even if the sx900 has sampled drums from the genos (even using same settings and compressor) I will make a video so people can listen and yes i agree the sx700 is a great for the price but very limited in options I suggest people try them before purchasing :-) Happy Playing to All!!!
Finally a decent video on this keyboard. And your Night in Tunisia was great! Owned this 6 months and find the panel very unintuitive, perhaps the worst of any of the two dozen Yamaha etc. Keys I’ve owned. But the pros outweigh the cons. You’ve clearly done some modifications, Especially with the mix levels, as the defaults are set to 100 and don’t punch through the style levels like yours do.
SX900 and SX700 represents the largest difference between the two identical models of a Yamaha PSR arranger keyboard. Previous models like S970/S770 and S950/S750 does not sound that different between the higher and lower model, but the SX900 and SX700 sounds really far apart. SX900 introduces many Genos sounds including the new drums, while SX700 recycles all the sounds from S970 and S770, only packed in a new design
After owning a Yamaha PSR-295 from new since 2004 I have been thinking about making the leap to either a mid range or a flagship keyboard since last summer. Just before I resigned I was going to get a Tyros 5 but I might settle for a PSR-SX900 if I can afford it otherwise the SX700 is still way better than my PSR-295. Another option is if I can wait until 2027 I might be able to save up enough money to buy a Genos. In my opinion this keyboard is a bit too good for playing cheesy old music hall songs!
So, that is a huge amount of money (the differencies), almost twice price for a better arranger. Like this way I have to collect money for a Genos, but when I will ready to buy, the 3rd version will come out. I have to save 2 more year to buy an sx900, instead of an sx700 right now. So, in between the sx600 and sx700 we have significant differencies (for almost twice price), but in this case for most players - beginers or hobbists will far enough for years - until to a newer sx701, sx702... about every 5. years. The decision for too many people in this case will be: Dream or play?
In my opinion, the SX700 is trash for its price. Why?? Because the sounds is so old, I've checked the voice list, there is nothing new. The sounds are blatantly downgraded. The piano dosent even sound good as the price of the keyboard. Basically it's just an old crap but new name and a body. Like it dosent hurt to put some better voices like in the 7:20 in this keyboard. It wont hurt the sales of the SX900 because it has VH2, more memory better speakers. 1500$ for old tiring recycled voices?? No way. The SX-710 should have all the sounds from SX900 and with CFX piano samples.
@@dennisoyston they will not sound the same cause the sx 700 doesnt have the drumkits(revo sampled) /voices that sx900 has ( they will play just not same quality)

I look foward for the video
Now u r suggesting me to spend €4000 instead of €2000 😂😂😅
Ограничены возможности , что это?
I still super love my Yamaha sx700
It's very worthwhile indeed. All the voices are studio-ready quality in SX900 rather than SX700.

Que bueno son los ritmos y sonidos de la serie PSR SX 900, 700 y 600😄 saludos desde Perú 🇵🇪
Ofcourse I would want the 900 model! It's just a matter of cost difference. If you can afford it then go for it.
I LOVE YOUR PLAYING N SOUNDS

So what did you get?
SX700 = PSR range
SX900 = Tyros 5

Yes you can adjust the virtual drawbars on the touch screen.

Voice list exactly the same as S975 (2018), but not sure about quality difference

Get the SX700 and load the styles and voices you want. Of course the is no vocal thingy on the 700 but I don't sing.

@@SynthGrooves What Korg compares to the SX900 for sound quality? Or are you a Yamaha only guy? Have you tried the Genos2 yet?
