chestnuts! i dream of them. we once had an entire meal of chestnuts…bread, ice cream, liqueur, pasta…just amazing. corsican restaurant. i have a baby chestnut to plant as a mate to my taller one.
Brilliant. That is so cool!! I just purchased a grain mill attachment for my stand mixer, but deep down inside I really wanted a manual mill to go with my manual coffee grinder. Maybe I'll just have to get one anyways. Love your videos.
ah, i love my coffee grinder, it was my grandmother’s. i do like that in winter storms we can still mill the flour for english muffins to cook on the wood stove. and i admit to selling my stand mixer a dozen years ago...i just prefer doing things with my own hands. actually, my sister did the same and got the same money for it that she’d spent! thanks for your support, joanne
I love your videos, Elisa. :) As a lifelong city girl, recently moved to the country, I am awed by the simplicity and connection that's permeating everything you do. Very inspiring. Look forward to trying your home made bread (hint). Ann V. xo

Nice set up! What did you use for the back bike wheel? Did you just remove the tire and then the newly fit right over that. Round. Wheel? What kind of belt did you use? THANK YOU!
hey red, there are so many variables! what kind of grain, how fine, how fit i am that day, if i have helpers…but let’s say about 100g a minute give or take.
I love this idea. However I just stopped eating wheat based t foods for a while . And within a month some ‘abs’. Had appeared ….By month three 6 abs. had grown on me … no sit ups no push ups no dead lifts. No gym …. Just no flour based food……. However. I like the idea of growing wheat and milling flour for those who don’t want to see their abs… lol😂
get the appleturnover postcards to hear when the next film is out eepurl.com/dO0KAz

Lovely video! Would love to try one of those mills 😍
thanks! i think they’d be so great at a corner store…mill-your-own!
Hi, how many minutes does it take you to grind one pound into flour?
hey red, there are so many variables! what kind of grain, how fine, how fit i am that day, if i have helpers…but let’s say about 100g a minute give or take.
What did you use for the belt?
Was the bike wheel a regular bike wheel?
a v-belt on a regular bike wheel works very well!
May I ask what kind of scale that is?
and what brand of pasta roller?
it says ‘thomas plant, birmingham’ on it…
Ps. How about a link to the grain mill?
it’s the country living mill, i like mine but it isn’t an ad…
What grain mill model do you use?
it’s a country living mill.
