    Just wanted to say thank you, Darkness. Many youtubers got big after covid and stopped posting as much and started living big off of TH-cam ad revenue. Now they post once a week or even once a month. But not you. You never sold us out and work tirelessly to provide content consistently. Appreciate your work man.

    The first deer story raised goosebumps. I live in House Springs Missouri less than 100 miles from the Ozarks and I’ve noticed the deer are getting less and less afraid of me. They’ve always world the woods beside my house and sometimes if I stayed on my porch they would stop and look at me then continue to eat the corn I’d left for them but they were about 100 yards away. Yesterday mid day I stepped out my back door and there wasA big deer standing there staring at me. I walked close up to her and she didn’t even flick an ear she just stood there and stared at me for about five minutes then slowly walked a few feet away and started staring at me again. Creepy

      @VixxKong2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's probably nothing harmful. They're just conscious of you living there and being friendly towards them, giving them food and all, they don't need to be afraid around you.
      Look at the videos Brother Nature posts with deers that he familiarize with. Or the story of that old man that has a deer friend that comes everyday to watch TV with him.

    The first story reminds me of the one about the bear who walked up to watch a group of teenagers and then walks to the lake and a bunch of slithering things just ooze out of it as a park ranger watches in horror, and a girl is infected and one of her friends shot her in the head in an act of mercy, but they're still in the midst of a murder case. And now I'm worried that both stories are true and that there's a terrifying parasite going around that the authorities are keeping under wraps. That would be interesting and terrifying.

    Lake Powell is indeed a desert location; the lake is created by the Glenn Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. But if things keep going the way they are right now, Lake Powell is going to be nothing but a mud puddle surrounded by an enormous bathtub ring along the canyon walls. I was just down there a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe how low the lake was. Utah, Arizona, and really all of the Mountain West have been in a drought for the last 30 years, and this year has been one of the worst on record. It doesn't help that Utahns are by a huge margin the most wasteful users of water in the US, which has to rank us high for most wasteful users of water in the world. If we don't stop sprawling out and building subdivisions with quarter acre lots covered in varieties of grass meant for the climate of England, we are literally going to run out of water in my lifetime. And yet even now, the local government of St. George, a Utah desert city just north of the NV border, is trying to secure funding and approval to build a pipeline over hundreds of desert miles to pump water from Lake Powell into their town. Personally, I think they ought to start by shutting down a few of the 20 or so golf courses they have in the area before trying to appropriate more water. Does a town of with a population of about 80K people really need 20 golf courses?

    • @RuinedTemple
      @RuinedTemple 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do you think it's also exacerbated by climate change?

    • @lisakarson3279

      Damn 20 gulf courses? Now that's overkill. I say shut half of them down at least🤷

      @hatuletoh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RuinedTemple Undoubtedly. After 30 yrs, I don't think it so much a "drought" we are in it is the new reality of a drying climate. When I moved to Northern Utah 25 years ago, the ski resorts up in the mountains considered it a good year when they got enough snowfall to be open by Thanksgiving, and stay open until Easter. And the valleys, around 3000-4000 feet lower in elevation, always had snow on the ground by Xmas. Nowadays, the ski resorts are lucky to have enough snow to be in regular operation by New Years, and in the valleys we sometimes make it through entire winters without any significant accumulation of snow on the ground.

Knowing my encounters with 1 more then the other and being Navajo, the 1 way you can tell from one to the other is if there's a Strong Stench of Rot like Death it's a Skinwalker; can mimick people and Animals. I have a scary hiking story. The story I tell is 100% true, this story took place 8 or so years ago. (my older brother was about eleven and I was about eight)
    This story takes place in the Smokey Mountains National Park. My family and I went on a week long hiking trip in the fall after I turned eight. My mom and dad always stressed on my brothers and I the importance of safe hiking, all the do's and don't's of hiking in the Smokey Mountains. We always carry bear spray and walking sticks with us just incase we run into something while hiking. I can't remember the particular trail we had done that day but the sun was starting to set and we were about a mile or so from the car, all of us were ready for showers and food. With my mom and i on the trial were my older brother, my aunt, and my dad. We had been on this trial for about four or five hours, on our way back we had been talking and laughing enjoying the warm weather, no please understand that we were being very loud i mean three adults and two kids under twelve will be very chatty, suddenly there was this LOUD crash in the wood to the right of us. It was so loud that all the wild life noise just stopped. Our party just stood there on the trail dead silent. My mom and dad told my brother and I to walk in front of them. My mom had her can of bear spray out ready and my dad was holding his walking stick in both of his hand kinda like a club. My aunt walked in between my older brother and I she kept ahold of both of our hands so that wee did not get separated. At some point we started hearing more noises in the woods stick breaking and leaves crunching we never once talked in those minutes before we got to the car there was also no other noise other then the breaking of twigs and leaves. My aunt picked me up and carried me on her back while she carried my brother in her arms. When we hit the trial head my dad yelled to us to run to the car. We drove back to our cabin and never had something else happened that week. In the days that followed when we returned home my mom found some article online. The thing she read said that on the trial we hiked on that day we heard the noise had multiple bear sightings. to this day eightish years later we have never done that trail and we still get told about bear sightings on that very part we heard the noises on.

    First story sounds like bull. "Run off before seeing or smelling them". You don't smell deer. Chronic wasting produces those growths in the throat and the brain rot can cause tremors in random spots and account for the strange behavior. For the doe at the campsite, when deer are being slowly bumped or if they saw/heard something they didn't like, they will jog/walk briskly away without looking. They also throw up cud and re eat it all the time. And the low growl noise is called a grunt
