Hmong women back in the days did not have a voice. Imagined being forced to marry someone you dont like and your own family refusing to help you. You have no support and no foundations to help you. This lady felt helpless and had so much resentment because she was forced to live a life she didnt choose. No matter how much the other person loves you, if your heart isnt in it, its not in it. I witness my moms suffering and i know how this woman felt.

I actually feel bad for this couple. The husband did force himself on her and she had to bare so much at such a young age. Depression carried out for so many years for both of them, so you can’t blame her for showing no love for him as she was suffering too.

He couldn't find anyone to willingly marry him and so he and his parents took advantage of her vulnerable situation and offer to help for exchange of marriage to her.
