so stride got nuked start of s14 making garen drop to shitter tier then he got mega buffs to compensate then they changed stride again and now its better wave clear and gives a speed up unlike old one so garen is broken again?
stridebreaker has worse synergy with garen compared to the mythic days. the last thing garen wants to spend money on is more waveclear (tiamat passive). what Garen loved spending money on is the old stridebreaker mythic passive that gave him movespeed with every item making him the highest mobility champion in the lategame.
its not really mega buffs. the spin has a tiny bit higher AD ratio at lower ranks to make conq better, and the w lost one second lategame but gained full duration from rank 1. the w change was probably the strongest. though im a bit salty about the 1 second loss at rank 5 because garen needs to be a scaling champion more than an early game champion. due to how melee his kit is (more than even compared to other juggernauts), he will never be a lane bully because his melee restrictions create too many bad matchups for him. simply speaking its way too easy to avoid fighting garen even if youre weaker than him for garen to ever be a real lane bully. like, even kayle can kite his ass out until level 6 and then just turn around and beat him once shes ranged. i think what really buffed garen is, that stridebreaker can be combined with triforce now. he used to have only one bruiser/attack speed item that worked with his kit when both were mythics. but now he has two, which means more spins and a lot more damage. if hexplate didnt have the sub optimal attack speed buff in the passive and more direct health/ad/attack speed in its stat block instead, then he would have 3.
I actually also had a passion for hating garen, lol. However, I'm a Garen one trick now yikes. When I'm fed and enemies have some AP champs, I like to go Wits end. It's funny an item provides you with 55% attack speed. Garen E deals tons of damage with an 2800(?) gold item. Great item after expensive stride and trinity.
Conq Garen you're pretty screwed if you don't get ahead. At least phase rush you have an escape tool late game. T eam fights you can't really front line and soak dmg, and if you side lane you need to be able to escape because every champ has a dash or some cc and can just run you down.
Dear god, i wish to see you on Akali someday. Especially new build which i saw KR onetrick deeplol, normal conqueror runes with Liandrys+Lichbane/Riftmaker (LB against more squishy second, riftmaker against tanks)
@@LanternIsLava The new Shojin increases your damage by 3% when hitting spells (up to a max of 4 stacks) and i'm pretty sure you can quickly stack that with Garen's E
shojin has good winrates on garen. just ask yourself if you will regret the lack of movement speed in the specific game. now that stridebreaker is really good again though i don't think you ever need shojin
Perma invis fight with 0 counterplay almost 4 dashes brain dead as fuck champ with 0 skill req can insta one shot u with out u being able to do shit cus invis balanced as fuck mechanic I think u understand why shes good vs a champ with almost 0 mobility that also needs to auto so she can use her q and needs to see u to use ult
Akali is a nightmare for gwen since a good akali can trade for free vs gwen, gwen can never trade back into her and gwen is also item dependent so she can't build Mr, gg you know why.

akali just beats gwen at every stage of the game, even if you get ahead as gwen somehow akali can still one shot gwen
Akali beats on melee low range toplaners, especially scaling ones. Akali functions as a toplaner because she always has kill pressure.
