Great video! One of my favourite scents of all time is by Nobile 1942, called Shamal. It has apple too. Gosh, it smells so good. It was my first niche experience. 🥳✌🏽

Good morning! I told Ryan I was going to watch your Sniffing Party with my coffee this morning, and he sang your song, so now it's in my head for the day, AGAIN! And I'm not mad. :) Sniffing parties are fun! I challenge you (throws down gloves) for next time (if you're interested) to go the other way. I did one where I knew the names of the scents and the notes but I'd never sniffed them before so I had to match what I smelled to the names. The prices of a lot of niche fragrances are just a little (often a lot) more than I feel comfortable spending. I have a small collection of niche fragrances that I got at amazing discounts. I find that niche fragrances are just as hit and miss as designer fragrances. I do find they tend to be a little more interesting and unique. At this point I am veryy happy with mostly exploring designer houses and just dipping into the occasional niche.
I totally agree with you Tara. Even at a discount they are expensive so they have to be extraordinary in order for me to want to consider them. Especially being my collection isn’t huge and there are so many affordable fragrances that I can explore that are beautiful.
I went through a Spring phase of wanting citrus and now I'm back around to Fall-worthy warm gourmands haha my nose needs to get a grip! La Danza seems in line with what I've been craving lately. I know what you mean about diving into niche - there's so much to explore it's almost overwhelming to open up a whole new bag of tricks! haha

I don’t think that Casablanca is a dupe at all. Casablanca has a bit of smokiness and the apple is brighter and more juice like. La danza smells more like apple pie that’s just come out of the oven…warm spices, pastry, cooked apple…it’s was sweeter and syrupy than Casablanca…next time we meet, I will bring the sample for you to sniff!!

I like some gourmand fragrances especially vanilla scents. But I don’t want to smell like cake, candy or even pop corn. What A Pop is a buttery popcorn scent that some reviewers like. However, I don’t want someone saying “hey you smell like popcorn “!
I used to have Dance of the Dragonflies and I sold it. I thought the actual scent was really pretty but I didn’t want to go around smelling like an apple pie.
@@mariacollettlife I was tempted to keep it just for the bottle though. It is so stunning. The bottle is really heavy glass with fairy tale looking designs all over it and the cap is engraved and really heavy too. Probably my favorite bottle ever.
I am still trying to understand WHY they would call an "apple-piey" fragrance "The dance of the dragonfly", hahaha... as to niche brands, I guess here in Brazil we have a different view on what defines niche than you do in Canada, or Europe even, because we consider brands like Jo Malone, Montale and the more exclusive Tom Ford fragrances as being "niche". BTW, have you ever tried Black Aoud by Montale? I got a sample recently and I am OBSESSED with it!! Even though it's supposed to be male targeted, I think I will have to get a bottle for myself, haha. Loved the video, I totally agree with you that smelling like an apple pie or a caramel apple would not be very nice!
Didn’t you know? Dragonflies always smell like apple pie when they are dancing!! 😜. I think Jo Malone is niche too…private labels are kind of niche as well! That’s a good point though- not so niche are expensive when I think of niche though, I think if $250 or more from a price perspective….it’s got to be really fantastic for me to pay that!!

Yet, believe it or not, a bottle of Delina here is more than twice as much as that here, about 2,500 reais nowadays!! That's why I still haven't bought it...

No they aren’t similar. Casablanca is more smokey with an apple juice vibe. La Danza smells like fresh baked apple pie.😀
