That's a great saw. I have used almost all the major brands and Echo for the money is a great value. Have 4 Echos, Jonsered Stihl, Husky and Solo. I just picked up this exact saw. Light and powerful. Great saw for orchards, juniper and clearing brush. Love top handle saws with 12 inch bars.

Your a wild man Billy , swinging in the trees ! Those big logs when I would cut them on my mill , I would use a chainsaw , and quarter them . Makes the finest lumber quarter sawn . You need a good sharp saw , remember the gullet 👍🇨🇦
Where I live we are loosing oak trees like crazy, red and white, I've gotten a little braver with a power saw after watching your videos, honestly I would probably need to move if I had to keep paying a tree man to cut them down.
This is nice to hear ! It may sound silly but I’ve got a old 2000 model 55 rancher we bought new , she just ate the rings and opposed to just throwing another head unit on I thought it might be fun to maybe big bore and port with a longer bar 🤷🏻♂️ would love a good recommendation ! Would happily send it across the country to the right builder . Be safe 💪🏻
As a pro climber myself, if that wood let go it would take the climber with it with lanyard above cut, it's a big no no, easy to work with the lanyard below the cut, and then no risk.
In America osha/ansi code is 200% tie off when using a power saw and I personally would never have my short safety/ lanyard tied around the part of the tree I intended to drop. The silky saw is a must and you can finish any power saw cut with it if you run out of fuel. I've watched enough of your videos to know that you know plenty about holding wood. This is the first time I've ever said anything about your technique. Love the vids and gave a 👍
OSHA is not recognized in Canada, in British Columbia we have worksafebc, they dictate that climbers in forestry operations are only required to have 1 point of Tie in so long as it is a steel core and must always be tied in with a steel core when making any cut, and obviously regular gear inspections are a must for any piece of life support equipment.
Buckin, Please be careful out there... :) Your hand at 20:39 & 20:45 and I think 1 before 20:39 too. Three times you got your hand super close to the tip of that saw while it's running. One slip up there and away goes your skin. I bet you didn't even notice nor care because you've been doing this for so long. However, you got lucky.
I was really confused how you were cutting underneath your flipline on the last cut. I would be scared if for some reason it started falling it could pull me down with it.
I mean honestly i don't think u should ever do that unless you were somehow 100percent certain. Too much risk in my mind. I feel with it being a cedar tree it was less risky overall but you never know every little variable and sometimes you can just have plain old bad luck. You could be tired and not if noticed a small crack etc etc. Also should have a climb line on a split tail where it's easy to disconnect and reconnect without retying any knots . And you keep this line (climb line) underneath your chicken strap/lanyard. Have it a good 4 ft down and just get it medium tight against the tree. It's a secondary backup Incase something we t wrong with your chicken strap , especially if it is not wired. If it does not have a wire In it and it's 100% rope , you should ALWAYS have your climb line run around the trunk when ur working /chunking ur say back down the tree on a removal. Keep the climb line down a bit. If a piece were to break somehow ur still connected . If the chainsaw accidentally kicked back real hard and nicked your chicken strap with no wire in it, most likely once that rope touches that chain from a kick back if that chain still had enough rms /rotating with enough momentum, it will suck that rope through and it would be about a 2 second total ordeal from once second cutting to the next second ur drifting/falling back out of the tree. Just encourage anyone that's atleast not a veteran or really highly experienced tree climber , to always have that climb line run underneath the chicken strap. Let it hand down a bit but not too loose either. It can save your life. I know from first hand actually.
I hope I can catch alive stream woke up about and hour ago I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving I know you live in Canada but I'm I. America
The top handle echo tree saw WILL BREAK FROM THE MAIN HOUSING IF YOU PULL REAL HARD. There isn't much holding them... Besides that, they are good saws..
The stems might look ok for a few years but it just seems short sighted. Those trees grow fast, if they get rid of them it makes room for new trees to grow instead of taking up space with dead stems.
Western Red Cedar is very resistant to rot, stem will look the same and that wood will still be sound for many years. Not to mention the habitat it will create for the local wildlife as a rotting tree is teaming with insects, is a prime nesting site for birds and other critters that eat said insects, and eventually will become a nurse log for future trees and undergrowth when it inevitably crumbles or falls over. I understand what you are saying and it is all up to personal preference I guess but I do agree with the homeowner here In that a wildlife stem as we call them is much more unique and aesthetically pleasing than a sapling that will likely not reach the diameter of a mature tree in the time they will still be living in that house
More people are creating wildlife stems. Lots of tree die off... People are concerned that it will not crash their house but enjoy the woodpeckers and other birds that make use of the wooden statue, as long as it doesn't hit their house or garage etc etc. This is when topping can be a good idea. Even though it may look like an odd neighborhood. 🪵🪵🪵👍🎶
Man u should give that other climbing system a try bucking it works great to relieve your lower back from the buck strap stress and when your climbing up you con use that hitch climber system to your advantage while going up a tree buck strap then ur tie in but ur old school and tough as nails and like what u like but u should give it a shot it's fun to learn new things you preach it alot
Hey dude, followed you since beginning,, love it,,,,,,, might be good to advise to young climbers not to follow your lead of being secured above the face cut in a tree. Cheers
Also bucking just curious when you're by yourself like that why don't you take a little gatorade bottle with gas and oil up with you just curious buddy thank you God bless
I work by myself most of the time. Over the years I've used different methods to get the most out of my saws. It's jobs like this one where you're under fuel pressure, that I really love my ms 200's big gas tank. I have 4 of them and I believe that you could do 90 percent of all tree jobs with just an ms 200 and a 4 cubic inch saw. Peace bro.
I have a ? For you my friend because I’m a 4th year power linesman and I climbed a lot of power poles and it’s easy to spur out of the poles because there drying out so is it the same for trees ,is it that easy for you to spur out of trees as well
I knew you would respond to Kevin’s video lol I have been around too many old timer tree men they have a legit reason for everything they do and I said that in the comments if you have been cutting trees for 10 plus years you know what your doing and know how to do it safely I do alot different than what someone that’s been cuttin for 3 years read about and and watch on a little TH-cam thing
Do it your own way it we do it Just like your doing we use a lift and climb the 🎄🎄🎄 we old school and some new school my friend we have fun at it 👍👍👍day

entraram junto no mato pra mostrar a serventia
a motosserra roncava machado velho tinia
e naquele matagal foi só cavaco de pau pó de serra que subia
e esse grande duelo deste jeito é que termina
na briga das ferramentas o machado é que domina
motosserra parou cedo ali no tronco da quina
machado seguiu cortando mata grossa e mata fina
motosserra impotente rebentou sua corrente acabou a gasolina
que isto sirva de exemplo para toda humanidade
e você que é tão jovem tem que saber a verdade
respeite bem os mais velhos não brinque com sua idade
uma pessoa idosa também tem utilidade

Good morning Buckin Billy, from America I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving day. 😊 love to all.
Thx ter
Love those little echos. Is that custom black plastics?
I hope I can catch alive stream woke up about and hour ago I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving I know you live in Canada but I'm I. America
I also want to add I’m at peace now that you said they are going to mill some of that big cedar. 👍
i got yer back
WOW, GLADE YOU DON'T REPEAT YOURSELF.
Great vid. So, carving or non carving 2511 and why? Thx

What advice do u have for younger new climbers
Lots of Junipers died here in Missouri over the hot dry summer!
interesting
Hey dude, followed you since beginning,, love it,,,,,,, might be good to advise to young climbers not to follow your lead of being secured above the face cut in a tree.
Cheers

Happy Thanksgiving to Ya'll 🦃🦃🦃
When are you going to forge me a wood bullet? Christmas would be nice! BBR 🎅
Peace bro.
I have a ? For you my friend because I’m a 4th year power linesman and I climbed a lot of power poles and it’s easy to spur out of the poles because there drying out so is it the same for trees ,is it that easy for you to spur out of trees as well
Like the echo but the 150
Good 👍
Keep on Choppin Buckin
I knew you would respond to Kevin’s video lol I have been around too many old timer tree men they have a legit reason for everything they do and I said that in the comments if you have been cutting trees for 10 plus years you know what your doing and know how to do it safely I do alot different than what someone that’s been cuttin for 3 years read about and and watch on a little TH-cam thing
Very good saw
Do it your own way it we do it Just like your doing we use a lift and climb the 🎄🎄🎄 we old school and some new school my friend we have fun at it 👍👍👍day
Hey Buckin is this a RIP saw ? Appears to have the logo was wondering if it does indeed RIP 😊
