Your reaction was all of us. 🤣 I just sat there with my mouth open lol. You did really well interpreting the dance! Jimin’s contemporary dance background I think lends to epic performances. I love how they visually conveyed the feeling of being trapped: always surrounding him, pulling him back in when he’s trying to run away, even forming a cage with their arms in the air right before the lift. That lift btw at the end was the same lift from his Lie performance. So he was set free of the lies he tells himself as well! (Another very introspective song.) Jimin has always been so critical of himself and people’s comments have always hit him hard. This song was sort of him saying I’m done with that, this is who I am and if you don’t like it f$&k off!

This is not what we were expecting as his first solo release! And we were all watching with our jaws dropped. It's totally epic. My first thought was it needed to be a Super Bowl halftime performance. I can't wait to see what their next world tour will be like after they come back!
Chapter 2 has already given us Badass Rockstar J-Hope, Arena-god Suga/Agust D, Dance Demonslayer Jimin, Dreamweaving Crooner V, and a preview of Pop-sensation JK and Power Balladeer Jin. Much as I miss their chaotic energy together, I’m enjoying discovering these new personas.
@@theresag8100 Oh, absolutely not! Never. I should have mentioned him too, it’s just that Indigo didn’t strike me as a “different” side of him in the same way as JITB & Face. D-Day wasn’t too surprising in style either but the solo concert tour was. RM’s music is all over the BTS catalog whether or not he’s the one rapping/singing them so I already knew he could handle different genres/themes well. He’s the undisputed Lyrical King, but he’s held that title all along. Indigo is icing on that delicious cake. The most unexpected song to me so far has been Sexy Nukin. But then again, not as much as him rapping Becky G’s CNS lines in Spanish a few years ago.
The MV is set in a panopticon, a prison concept for seeing and controlling prisoners. The dancers also form a Fibonacci spiral, which is everywhere in nature.
I just keep seeing BTS asking for more freedom. "This song is a haegeum."..."set me free"...it just makes me excited to know that the constricting weight of the industry might be a burden but it certainly won't keep them down. No way. They must know that ARMY hears them. Loud and clear. Whatever endeavor they must chase we are in thier corner. They are also remarkably nostalgic "hands up for the past me" and for good reason. The precious little family they made way back then have our hearts too. Amazing. Jimin has absolutely no limits to talent. Period.
You may be on to something. Those lyrics could be interpreted in other ways, but “Bag all the trophies and the Grammys too…” isn’t exactly subtle or ambiguous. 🤷🏻♀️
I don't think it's asking anymore; I think they're TAKING their freedom. Face is Jimin setting himself free from the hate and the burdens he's carried; Haegeum is Suga's act of freeing himself from the last bits of Agust D, his anger and selfish ambition, and D-Day is about exploring the Agust-free Yoongi; Wildflower is RM casting off his old tormented self and Indigo is a masterpiece of self-expression; Arson is J-Hope literally burning down the past and choosing to go forward on his own terms, and Jack in the Box is all about coming *out* of the box of expectations. V's more subtle; none of his songs are reclaiming himself but all of them are reclaiming his preferred style that he hasn't been able to do much of. We have yet to see what JK will bring beyond Seven, but he's already taken everyone off guard with the explicit version, stating musically that he's not a kid anymore and hang on to your hats. And yet they all express that, while this solo work was necessary for them to develop individually and refine themselves, and to air a lot of stuff they've had to set aside over the years... they still all prefer to work as a group; they do their best as a team. That's really the most moving part of Chapter two, seeing them realize how complete they are together and how much they want to get back together.
The first time I heard the song I was kind of iffy about the autotune in the second half due to personal taste but now having listened to it multiple times I can't imagine the song without it. Jimin is such a special artist who wears his heart on his sleeve and I'm so happy that he's learning to accept himself as he is and telling people to eff off in the same breath if they don't like what he does. Lie is one of my all time favorite songs of his and the live stages are brilliant. The song is deep and has this very moody, ethereal quality that makes it stand out. Then again, Wings is one of my favorite albums because of the solos the boys have on it and the stories they tell.
Jimin is phenomenal in this. There is so much symbolism in the choreo and the lyrics are so brutally direct and intense. He's done just quietly endiring the hate and jydgment he gets from certain toxic antis and others. He's the sweetest, kindest person but gets the most virulent hate, including death threats. It's horrible and I will never understand. Jimin is an amazing talent and an amazing human being. This song was epuc indeed. I just want also to praise the dancers on Team Jimin. They're so good and worked so hard.

This mv is fire. Universal message for so many struggling, including me. I wish this had gotten wider viewing because it is art. The choreographer(s), videographer, set designer, dancers, choir, band, and Jimin all performed with perfection.
I fully agree with you 10 fold! The struggles are real. But having these positive lights in our life set us apart from people that are still struggling day to day. Our difference is that we have positivity to fall back on.

I used to say that Set Me Free pt2 is a song for fighters. Jimin has literally created an anthem for all those who are determined to overcome the trials they face in life. This song overwhelms me and gives me enormous strength, because I find myself in this need to go forward, whatever the cost. It's a song that will stay in my heart. Its power remains intact in me even after 5 months. I listen to it every day 💜
Jimin is fast. That's why he's usually the one who travels from one end of a formation to the other (or one side of the stage to the other); because he can run that fast, and get into position, without losing the beat.💜 There was one time he did it in a live performance, he was so fast, I swear he teleported. He was dancing at one end of the line then, in less than the blink of an eye, he was at the other end - dancing easily, as if he'd been there all the time. I had to rewatch that section several times to spot him racing behind the others, like an Olympic sprinter ( and that's not to discount Jungkook's speed, but there's a reason Jimin was the lead out runner when they competed in the relay at the ISAACs). It was amazing.💜
Theres a whole video about that here in YT explaining his speed in dancing. How many steps he take in a choreo. He was always chosen to do the teleporting and change of formation. And its amazing he has the most difficult verses and steps.

The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. The artistry that Jimin brings to music is just the most beauiful thing I have ever seen.I have learned so much through his artistic expressions not only about him but the arts. The little tidbits are really not little at all, everything has such meaning its like opening up a puzzle and putting all the pieces together..i literally cried through the entire album as he released what his heart and soul had endured but then this came and I smiled and said yes, jimin is free and dont give a tsk anymore about what anyone says hes going to be his own self and artist. Then there is a hidden track in his album called Letter he wrote for Army, that starts at 6:13 which is their debut date. Everything jimin does has double and triple meaning so you pay close attention. In fact i was told the tattoo behind his left ear which looks like youth is an ambigram if you look at it it can also look like growth. Jimins artistic ability is phenomenal, he is an artist and a teacher...oh and the hidden track in the book that comes with the cd with credits etc.that"Letter" track pages appear to be blank but it you hold it slanted to the light it gives all the credits, lyrics etc...that's jimin....
The choro represents all the thoughts, feelings he had dueing Covid where he admits he was drinking more, where he felt he'd lost everything, that he wasn't good enough all those dark thoughts that he gets as he's a bit of a perfectionist when it come to his art. He also felt he lost friends as he was missing friends and due to covid. The whole album is about his journey through covid he said making the album really helped him work through what he went through due to the covid period. It's his personal fight in music and dance hence the chaotic dance fenzied dance moves the pushing him onto the box and dancer towering over him pointing the finger at him in an accusing manner. It's him striving to get out from the thoughts and fears that were in his head him trying to free himself. Then when he's up in the air those hands representing those thoughts and feeling trying to pull him back down but he triumphs at the end as he's the one left standing this time in white rather than the black (black often represents black moods, bad thoughts emotions feeling etc ) he's the one now standing free and we get to see his tattoos down the back of his neck and that go down his spine his real one's not the fake German poem on his chest. It's brilliant his story in song and dance. Something that I've thought about many times when watching this is when the dancers have their hand and arms up in the air and Jimin is in the mist of them it reminds me of a thorny briar patch of pickly brambles, a barbed wire surround with him caught in the middle and he can't get out without getting ripped to piece on the thorns. Anyone else get that impression?
Which, again, proves all the award shows in the US, especially the VMAs, are pointless. ALL of them are just a way to earn money for the awarding company. Nothing about actual quality of song, voice, performer, or video. Just a lot of BS. Those who haven’t seen this or listened to this song are missing a lot just because the industry will not let them see or hear this MV and song. I grieve for the world who still believe in charts and the radio.
Set Me Free pt2 is really epic. Everyone was expecting jimin will start his solo debut with a soft song but he came in hard. His music is so versatile.

Knowing how involved Jimin was in every minute step of the production and the fact he is a perfectionist and everything is very deliberate and meaningful, I can only imagine how many hours/days this took to film. Truth! One must die to your old self before you can be born again and Set Free. Mr. Go. This IS what Jimin experienced in his real life through the years in BTS. In the new BTS book out "Beyond the Story" Jimin goes into more specific details. I highly recommend the book. Starting in Chapter 1 "secrets" are shared that no one has known before. Not even Army knows all these details the author divulges. I Knew Big Hit was near bankruptcy. But I never knew why. Now I know. No spoilers from me. Also, this affected the members living arrangements. I was shocked. The boys were shocked, too. I bought the audio book for $14.95. The cheapest way to get the book. Mr. GO. Epic definitely! Art absolutely! Unlike some musicians/artist today Jimin creates for the sake of art and communicating through his music. His creativity and dedication to his craft showcases his natural ability as an all around performer. He consistently creates memorable masterpieces people want to hear and watch over and over again!
My favorite piece of choreo is the “look at me now” In the first verse the dancers are pointing at him but he doesn’t looking at them, in 2nd the dancers are standing high and pointing down at him but he has his head up and he says “i won’t stop even if they mock me”

It's a German poem on his chest its a decal not real tattoo. It's a poem about being free. He does have a few real tattoos tho he has youth behind his ear, nevermind tattoo on his ribs, he has one near each elbow, he has the number 13 on his wrist its his birthday day and the day that bts debut, he also has the moon phases tattoo down his back.

There are so many comments to read through so sorry if this is a repeat but his whole EP is a masterpiece and meant to be listened all the way through to truly understand what he went through to get to this point. Suga aka Minstradamus already gave us a preview of how that would look like in his last 3 concerts… I’m 100% down for it. I’d start the show with Run BTS to set the past-to-present mood and then a song each. Heck even 2 songs each is around 1/2 of a regular concert. Definitely doable.

In the future, may I recommend, as well as urge you to have the Eng subs on right away, so that you can appreciate the choreography that much more since they correlate, with the lyrics Jimin wrote. Just the whole performance is truly that much more enjoyable, more meaningful & inspirational, with the lyric translation visible. Same goes for many or should I say most BTS songs as well. 👍❤️🔥🙏😍🔥
So the reason I did this was because I find that when I see a MV at first I have a hard time concentrating on the lyrics because the draw of the video is so strong! I've tried it where I react to the lyrics first. This is actually why I like Dials Lyrics videos because I can just get the lyrics first without a video. It came out went to number 1 and immediately like crazy dropped and took its place as number 1. I don't know why...it's way better than" like crazy"...imo. It could be the language maybe? Maybe Like Crazy was more marketable because of cleaner language? Idk...but this was his masterpiece imo.

The instrumentation is OMG!, the bass with the horns, choir and the ending vocals repeating set me free is a musical sonic masterpiece. The graphite and cold blue set with the backup dancers in black, their precise hand and body movements and the dramatic layering in their positioning is just perfect in telling the story. Jimin's movements through the dance formation and insane stage presence speaks for itself. The man is just a magnificent and talented performer! You should react to the entire album, it is called Face, with four songs, Alone, Like crazy, Set Me Free Part 2, Face Off and the hidden track - Letter. Check up his earlier solo pieces, Lie a masterpiece, his first solo song done in 2016, (which has beautiful vocals, chord progression and this beautiful, incredible instrumentation with an Italian Opera as a backing track and bass, you have to listen carefully to detect it), Serendipty - Live Performances please, Filter (Live Performance - with the red suit from day one). Updated Jimin info that some aren't aware of: ❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey! JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. I really love this album. I couldn't be better. Like crazy was the song I always wanted to see performed and singing by him. And I got it! I literally cry myself out when I watched the MV for the first time. Is just perfect for him. And set me free was so unspected but the choreo, the power, the MV was just a gift. Jimin is a great and brilliant artist, indeed, and this is a masterpiece ! Another masterpiece. In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. Set me free is about breaking free from himself, from his past struggles and the way people and opponents want to stuck him in a box. Jimin had a long and difficult journey for loving himself, playing with his différents "faces" /images/filters. He recently said : "« "Set Me Free Pt.2 was created when I was feeling lost and depressed. I was determined to overcome those feelings and had lots of those thoughts. It's a song that contains a lot of my emotions from then. Just like how we overcome challenges and get lost again. There are things we can't escape from as if we're on a hamster wheel. This is my favourite song from FACE. I love how the album tells his story and this is when he frees himself at last. Absolutely stunning performance with all the choreography and only choreography being a focus here. Jimin is art itself. Let's not forget how hard he and his crew worked to make it this impressive. I love how Jimin can be seductive and delicate (like in Like Crazy or Serendipity), and at the same time he can go hard and aggressive (like here or Tony Montana with SUGA). Your reaction was all of us. 🤣 I just sat there with my mouth open lol. You did really well interpreting the dance! Jimin’s contemporary dance background I think lends to epic performances. I love how they visually conveyed the feeling of being trapped: always surrounding him, pulling him back in when he’s trying to run away, even forming a cage with their arms in the air right before the lift. That lift btw at the end was the same lift from his Lie performance. So he was set free of the lies he tells himself as well! (Another very introspective song.) Jimin has always been so critical of himself and people’s comments have always hit him hard. This song was sort of him saying I’m done with that, this is who I am and if you don’t like it f$&k off!

@@theresag8100 Oh, absolutely not! Never. I should have mentioned him too, it’s just that Indigo didn’t strike me as a “different” side of him in the same way as JITB & Face. D-Day wasn’t too surprising in style either but the solo concert tour was. RM’s music is all over the BTS catalog whether or not he’s the one rapping/singing them so I already knew he could handle different genres/themes well. He’s the undisputed Lyrical King, but he’s held that title all along. Indigo is icing on that delicious cake. The most unexpected song to me so far has been Sexy Nukin. But then again, not as much as him rapping Becky G’s CNS lines in Spanish a few years ago.

"This song is a haegeum."..."set me free"...it just makes me excited to know that the constricting weight of the industry might be a burden but it certainly won't keep them down. No way. They must know that ARMY hears them. Loud and clear. Whatever endeavor they must chase we are in thier corner. They are also remarkably nostalgic "hands up for the past me" and for good reason. The precious little family they made way back then have our hearts too. Amazing. Jimin has absolutely no limits to talent. Period.

You may be on to something. Those lyrics could be interpreted in other ways, but “Bag all the trophies and the Grammys too…” isn’t exactly subtle or ambiguous. 🤷🏻♀️
I don't think it's asking anymore; I think they're TAKING their freedom. Face is Jimin setting himself free from the hate and the burdens he's carried; Haegeum is Suga's act of freeing himself from the last bits of Agust D, his anger and selfish ambition, and D-Day is about exploring the Agust-free Yoongi; Wildflower is RM casting off his old tormented self and Indigo is a masterpiece of self-expression; Arson is J-Hope literally burning down the past and choosing to go forward on his own terms, and Jack in the Box is all about coming *out* of the box of expectations. V's more subtle; none of his songs are reclaiming himself but all of them are reclaiming his preferred style that he hasn't been able to do much of. We have yet to see what JK will bring beyond Seven, but he's already taken everyone off guard with the explicit version, stating musically that he's not a kid anymore and hang on to your hats.
And yet they all express that, while this solo work was necessary for them to develop individually and refine themselves, and to air a lot of stuff they've had to set aside over the years... they still all prefer to work as a group; they do their best as a team. That's really the most moving part of Chapter two, seeing them realize how complete they are together and how much they want to get back together.

The first time I heard the song I was kind of iffy about the autotune in the second half due to personal taste but now having listened to it multiple times I can't imagine the song without it. Jimin is such a special artist who wears his heart on his sleeve and I'm so happy that he's learning to accept himself as he is and telling people to eff off in the same breath if they don't like what he does. Lie is one of my all time favorite songs of his and the live stages are brilliant. The song is deep and has this very moody, ethereal quality that makes it stand out. Then again, Wings is one of my favorite albums because of the solos the boys have on it and the stories they tell.
I can't imagine it without autotune either since it lends itself to the mood and the storyline.
Jimin is phenomenal in this. There is so much symbolism in the choreo and the lyrics are so brutally direct and intense. He's done just quietly endiring the hate and jydgment he gets from certain toxic antis and others. He's the sweetest, kindest person but gets the most virulent hate, including death threats. It's horrible and I will never understand.

This mv is fire. Universal message for so many struggling, including me. I wish this had gotten wider viewing because it is art. The choreographer(s), videographer, set designer, dancers, choir, band, and Jimin all performed with perfection.
I fully agree with you 10 fold! The struggles are real. But having these positive lights in our life set us apart from people that are still struggling day to day. Our difference is that we have positivity to fall back on.

I used to say that Set Me Free pt2 is a song for fighters. Jimin has literally created an anthem for all those who are determined to overcome the trials they face in life. This song overwhelms me and gives me enormous strength, because I find myself in this need to go forward, whatever the cost. It's a song that will stay in my heart. Its power remains intact in me even after 5 months. I listen to it every day 💜

Jimin is fast. That's why he's usually the one who travels from one end of a formation to the other (or one side of the stage to the other); because he can run that fast, and get into position, without losing the beat.💜
There was one time he did it in a live performance, he was so fast, I swear he teleported. He was dancing at one end of the line then, in less than the blink of an eye, he was at the other end - dancing easily, as if he'd been there all the time. I had to rewatch that section several times to spot him racing behind the others, like an Olympic sprinter ( and that's not to discount Jungkook's speed, but there's a reason Jimin was the lead out runner when they competed in the relay at the ISAACs). It was amazing.💜

Theres a whole video about that here in YT explaining his speed in dancing. How many steps he take in a choreo. He was always chosen to do the teleporting and change of formation. And its amazing he has the most difficult verses and steps.

The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. The artistry that Jimin brings to music is just the most beauiful thing I have ever seen.I have learned so much through his artistic expressions not only about him but the arts. The little tidbits are really not little at all, everything has such meaning its like opening up a puzzle and putting all the pieces together..i literally cried through the entire album as he released what his heart and soul had endured but then this came and I smiled and said yes, jimin is free and dont give a tsk anymore about what anyone says hes going to be his own self and artist. Then there is a hidden track in his album called Letter he wrote for Army, that starts at 6:13 which is their debut date. Everything jimin does has double and triple meaning so you pay close attention. In fact i was told the tattoo behind his left ear which looks like youth is an ambigram if you look at it it can also look like growth. Jimins artistic ability is phenomenal, he is an artist and a teacher...oh and the hidden track in the book that comes with the cd with credits etc.that"Letter" track pages appear to be blank but it you hold it slanted to the light it gives all the credits, lyrics etc...that's jimin....
The choro represents all the thoughts, feelings he had dueing Covid where he admits he was drinking more, where he felt he'd lost everything, that he wasn't good enough all those dark thoughts that he gets as he's a bit of a perfectionist when it come to his art. He also felt he lost friends as he was missing friends and due to covid. The whole album is about his journey through covid he said making the album really helped him work through what he went through due to the covid period. It's his personal fight in music and dance hence the chaotic dance fenzied dance moves the pushing him onto the box and dancer towering over him pointing the finger at him in an accusing manner. It's him striving to get out from the thoughts and fears that were in his head him trying to free himself. Then when he's up in the air those hands representing those thoughts and feeling trying to pull him back down but he triumphs at the end as he's the one left standing this time in white rather than the black (black often represents black moods, bad thoughts emotions feeling etc ) he's the one now standing free and we get to see his tattoos down the back of his neck and that go down his spine his real one's not the fake German poem on his chest. It's brilliant his story in song and dance.
Something that I've thought about many times when watching this is when the dancers have their hand and arms up in the air and Jimin is in the mist of them it reminds me of a thorny briar patch of pickly brambles, a barbed wire surround with him caught in the middle and he can't get out without getting ripped to piece on the thorns. Anyone else get that impression?

Which, again, proves all the award shows in the US, especially the VMAs, are pointless. ALL of them are just a way to earn money for the awarding company. Nothing about actual quality of song, voice, performer, or video. Just a lot of BS. Set Me Free pt2 is really epic. Everyone was expecting jimin will start his solo debut with a soft song but he came in hard. His music is so versatile.
This just literally blew me away! Knowing how involved Jimin was in every minute step of the production and the fact he is a perfectionist and everything is very deliberate and meaningful, I can only imagine how many hours/days this took to film. Truth! One must die to your old self before you can be born again and Set Free. Mr. Go. This IS what Jimin experienced in his real life through the years in BTS. In the new BTS book out "Beyond the Story" Jimin goes into more specific details. I highly recommend the book. Starting in Chapter 1 "secrets" are shared that no one has known before.
Not even Army knows all these details the author divulges. I Knew Big Hit was near bankruptcy. But I never knew why. Now I know. No spoilers from me. Also, this affected the members living arrangements. I was shocked.

It's a German poem on his chest its a decal not real tattoo. It's a poem about being free. He does have a few real tattoos tho he has youth behind his ear, nevermind tattoo on his ribs, he has one near each elbow, he has the number 13 on his wrist its his birthday day and the day that bts debut, he also has the moon phases tattoo down his back.

There are so many comments to read through so sorry if this is a repeat but his whole EP is a masterpiece and meant to be listened all the way through to truly understand what he went through to get to this point. In the future, may I recommend, as well as urge you to have the Eng subs on right away, so that you can appreciate the choreography that much more since they correlate, with the lyrics Jimin wrote. Just the whole performance is truly that much more enjoyable, more meaningful & inspirational, with the lyric translation visible. Same goes for many or should I say most BTS songs as well. 👍❤️🔥🙏😍🔥
So the reason I did this was because I find that when I see a MV at first I have a hard time concentrating on the lyrics because the draw of the video is so strong! I've tried it where I react to the lyrics first. This is actually why I like Dials Lyrics videos because I can just get the lyrics first without a video. I try all sorts of ways to React to keep it fresh and unique to how I feel at the time :)

It came out went to number 1 and immediately like crazy dropped and took its place as number 1. I don't know why...it's way better than" like crazy"...imo. It could be the language maybe? Maybe Like Crazy was more marketable because of cleaner language? Idk...but this was his masterpiece imo.

The instrumentation is OMG!, the bass with the horns, choir and the ending vocals repeating set me free is a musical sonic masterpiece. The graphite and cold blue set with the backup dancers in black, their precise hand and body movements and the dramatic layering in their positioning is just perfect in telling the story. Jimin's movements through the dance formation and insane stage presence speaks for itself. The man is just a magnificent and talented performer!

❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy.
Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!!
So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! Jimin is a great and brilliant artist, indeed, and this is a masterpiece ! Another masterpiece.
In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see.
Set me free is about breaking free from himself, from his past struggles and the way people and opponents want to stuck him in a box. Jimin had a long and difficult journey for loving himself, playing with his différents "faces" /images/filters. He recently said : "« "Set Me Free Pt.2 was created when I was feeling lost and depressed. I was determined to overcome those feelings and had lots of those thoughts. It's a song that contains a lot of my emotions from then. Just like how we overcome challenges and get lost again. There are things we can't escape from as if we're on a hamster wheel. That's what I wanted to express".
There is a lot to say about this masterpiece, the links with one of his previous song "Lie" (obvious in the choreo, with the last porté) , the panopticon setting, the lightning pulsing like a deep breathe, the choreography of course, the shell/spiral/caterpillar/cocoon/Fibonaci sequence, the dialogue between Jimin's inner voices : the angry one with autotune, the soft and hopeful one without, the lyrics, Jimin himself, the german poem on his chest ... All is perfect, beautiful and meaningful !!

This is my favourite song from FACE. I love how the album tells his story and this is when he frees himself at last. Absolutely stunning performance with all the choreography and only choreography being a focus here. Jimin is art itself. Let's not forget how hard he and his crew worked to make it this impressive.
I love how Jimin can be seductive and delicate (like in Like Crazy or Serendipity), and at the same time he can go hard and aggressive (like here or Tony Montana with SUGA). He works so hard and evolves amazingly.
