I had been wanting to pick up a POF Revolution DI since their release. I Finally put my other projects rifles aside & made acquiring one a priority during mid-Spring 2020. While I decided this many months before, I finally went ahead & “pulled the trigger, on one 1-2 weeks AFTER Frank’s Untimely Passing had acquired a POF burnt bronze Revolution DI. Initially it had some hiccups out of the box& the Hornady 168Grain BTHP’s I’d be picked up by the bolt as it headed into battery, then abruptly get JAMMED Head First into the feed ramps. This occurred repeatedly about 5-6times+ per 20 .308 Magazine. I contacted POF, Sent it in, & they stated they couldn’t replicate the Issues I was having, after 80rounds plus of test firing, whatever they did worked, bc my first range trip involved sending 80-100 rounds of M118LR Match 175gr HPBT Clone ammo from IMI(Razor Core) down range without a single issue. This was the polar opposite of my first experience behind the gun as I zeroed both my primary and secondary optics and this trip it ran 100% flawlessly. So guessing whatever I was unlucky enough to hand an issue with it was quickly resolved snd left me able to continue to fall for such a sexy, lw& accurate DMR platform that is a future suppressor host, of a DeadAir sandman S.
This is the coolest idea for a new gun I’ve ever seen, I can’t wait to get mine next week 😊 Huge Thanks to POF for making the kind of rifle I’ve been looking for!
Hey Frank, it was a pleasure meeting you in Atlanta at the Annual NRA meetings and exhibits. Your Revolution rifle is truly an impressive feat of engineering. I walked the show floor and handled virtually every variety of .308 AR platforms on display. I kept coming back to yours as it was the only one that consistently made me think I was holding a standard AR-15 due to it's size and weight. More than once I had to double check by looking at the mag well that I was really holding something chambered in .308 as it even felt light weight compared to some other AR-15s. Figuring out which .308 AR style rifle I am going to purchase was a key objective for my visit to Atlanta and you've certainly won my business.
Since it's a piston design, the diameter of the bolt doesn't matter as much, all of the force is concentrated between the bolt face and the locking lugs, the shaft of the bolt (that rides in the carrier) is doing little more than assuring rotation and alignment. Design wise, this would be almost identical, conceptually anyways, to the .458 socom bolt. Are those known for breaking bolts? I don't actually know, if so, I think you may be onto something.
I drove by your old building the new one was just starting .....i will have to come by and visit your new shop....Buckeye is in your back yard!!!! I love what you are doing......!!!
I just purchased a brand new POF Revolution in .308, brought it home and fired two rounds with similar results. One round fired, the next round stuck in the chamber. I had to mortar the rifle to extract the stuck rounds. My $800 Palmetto State Armory runs great right out of the box, my $2,600 POF, not so much. I am calling the Tech Center tomorrow. Using PMC brass cased 150 grain new manufactured ammo.
That lower is a reloaders dream come true. I could load any ar15 standard cartridge long enough to accept all the heaviest bullets and still push them at standard speeds.
I don't know about other POF rifles but about 6 months ago I bought a POF P308 and have been having reliability issues with it since. I have sent it back to the factory twice, the first time the gas adjustment came off at the range and the parts flew out on the range floor, the rep at the factory stated that I or "someone" had tampered with it, (blame the customer policy) when I only adjusted it according to the manual. they repaired the gas system, sent it back and now I have been having unresolved ejection issues with many stovepipes that even professional gunsmiths can't figure out. The second time I sent it back they put an O-ring on the extractor spring and "said" they ran different ammo through it and it cycled. Obviously they didn't watch the ejection of the ammo or they would have noticed that most of the spent cases were not even turning back and hitting the deflector but when the bolt feeds a new round from the mag, the spent case is is being pushed out by hitting the front of the ejection port. There's scarring on the front of the port. Seems like they don't like problems with their firearms and get annoyed at customers who experience problems, and don't do real research into a customers problematic rifle. Also they want you to pay shipping to them which is more money wasted. this has been one rifle I have had big regrets wasting $2000+ on including test ammo and time. I know I will NEVER buy another POF rifle of any kind, it would be the same as if I set fire to $2000 of cash.
I'm going to contact the editors of Gun Tests Magazine, I would send this POF P308 to them for free if they would review it. They are honest in their reviews.
A friend of mine has one and it's to the point just the sight of it depresses him. It's very unreliable. He paid $2,000 for it. One thing I don't like is the full length picatiny is one piece with rail. So your stuck with this massive clumsy rail that looks like a vented exhaust system shroud, a rail from Midwest industries would realy give it a nice clean look. I'm not a hater of pof. I was realy impressed with the quality when I first saw it other than the rail. But now I'll never buy one after seeing first hand the frustration my friend is having with his.
@@dickeymoore7365 he pretty much gave up on it. He wants to sell it. He never sent it to pof for repair. So I cant say they wouldn't fix cause I don't know.

I got a Wilson Combat Recon rifle in .308, then this rifle came out? The revolution is exactly what I wanted, I am seriously considering selling the a wilson Combat , and getting a revolution?Well done POF!
I love my Revolution. There's not much perceived weight difference between the Revolution and the P308, but it's definitely lighter in the numbers. I'm about to pick up the P6.5 with 16.5 barrel. With that being said, how about a Revolution in 6.5 Creedmoor?
I am excited about this rifle. But, I really would like to see how it performs like in a melt down type of fashion. I'm curious to see how having the same smaller AR15 parts will hold up with the bigger 308 round being shot out of it continuously with lots of ammo.
Frank, what kind of reliability can we expect from this gun? Can those AR15 parts hold up for the long term with 308 punching it often? What tests have you guys conducted, to give you such strong confidence in this platform?
Can a standard milspec 5.56 upper fit and function on the POF Revolution lower? (I'd obviously make some sort of adapter for the magwell so it's properly supported)
Olympic arms from Olympia Washington did something extremely similar first. 2016 they released the AR 15 PP3 .308, of which 37 were made. It was a short run before they shut down production.. they now only assemble the last of their parts they have on hand. My curiosity lies in that barrel, I'm not able to find how to buy one on your website, I'd like to have a spare and I wanted to compare my measurements to yours but can't.
Is it possible to swap barrels to shoot different calibers in the Revolution? As long as they use the same brass. So 6mm Credmore and 6.5 Creedmore in the same gun.
so would it be possible to put the bcg, buffer, and barrel in any ar-15 upper? is there something special about this upper that allows it to shoot 308 that other ar-15 uppers don't have?
Hm, I'm slightly concerned about the barrel extension being the same size and thickness as an AR-15 barrel extension. Possible wear and tear issue there?
Please get back to me yet as soon as you possibly can, I have the POF AR 10 gen3, what is the best suppressor for this rifle, I’ve seen test done and a lot of malfunctions happen with POF while using the suppressor so do you have any recommendations.? Thank you
Thats a shame, I love my Mike Rock barrel, and I noticed they took all of their old (gen 3) barrel specs off the website. I'm also not a fan of the "e2 extraction" they started doing with their gen 4 chambers. Everything I've learned from bench-rest shooting tells me cutting reliefs in the chamber at the neck of the case is gunna be terrible for accuracy.
Ahh, glad to hear it, I love my gen3 p308, working a bunch of OT right now to get a revolution soon. I'm optimistically skeptical of the e2, but you guys have yet to disappoint so I'm excited to give it a try. The guys at storm mountain have a bolt gun Mike Rock barreled that was a mess up so they got it for super cheap (if not free) and that gun is crazy accurate. I've been impressed since, and the spec list for the barrel on my gen 3 p308 was impressive, I hope that even though Mike is no longer around the barrels have maintained the standard. Thanks for the response!
@Josh Bruns Yes. It comes with a 9 position gas block & I've shot it at all 9 positions. Good news is I've become rather good at clearing jams lol It seems the more I shoot, the less it jams but it still jams consistently when shooting .308 I need to take it to a gunsmith.
@@TragedysHalo I’ve heard mixed reviews on POF’s customer service but you may wanna try contacting them and see if it’s an issue they’ve come across before. They’re probably just going to tell you to send it to them on your dime tho. Best of luck bud.
could the 308 (7.62 mm diameter x 51 mm length) fit in the standard mag designed for the 223 (5.56 mm diameter x 45 mm length) ? I do not think so, it's a much larger ammo. That's why the had to build a larger mag well in the POF Rev in order to accommodate the 308 mag.
I've looked into this also and I don't think it will since the space between the rear of the trigger assembly and area of the takedown pin (auto sear area) has been reduced in the modification of the lower to make it the size of a .223 lower. Because of that reduction in area, there doesn't appear to be enough room for the trigger lock mechanism of the echo. I think Chris Bartocci's youtube channel has a video where he gives you a side by side view of the internals of the lower and you can see how little room is left. Franklin Arms BSFIII trigger is probably only option for this gun. th-cam.com/video/a9hh0qbMV9I/w-d-xo.html

I've been impressed since, and the spec list for the barrel on my gen 3 p308 was impressive, I hope that even though Mike is no longer around the barrels have maintained the standard.
Thanks for the response!
Bought mine a few months ago. It shoots 7.62 just fine but jams when shooting .308
Have you tried adjusting the gas block?
@Josh Bruns Yes. It comes with a 9 position gas block & I've shot it at all 9 positions. Good news is I've become rather good at clearing jams lol It seems the more I shoot, the less it jams but it still jams consistently when shooting .308
I need to take it to a gunsmith.
@@TragedysHalo I’ve heard mixed reviews on POF’s customer service but you may wanna try contacting them and see if it’s an issue they’ve come across before. They’re probably just going to tell you to send it to them on your dime tho. Best of luck bud.
Will it work with a echo 2 trigger ive been really excited for this to come out and now that it has im broke 😢
I dropped a Velocity 3.5 lb trigger in my Revolution. It's a cheaper (but just as good imo) version of the Timney.
Yes
mag conversion for 5.56?
could the 308 (7.62 mm diameter x 51 mm length) fit in the standard mag designed for the 223 (5.56 mm diameter x 45 mm length) ? I do not think so, it's a much larger ammo. That's why the had to build a larger mag well in the POF Rev in order to accommodate the 308 mag.
So the revolution is basically a lighter p308 edge??

So will it take a Fostech Echo AR-2?
I've looked into this also and I don't think it will since the space between the rear of the trigger assembly and area of the takedown pin (auto sear area) has been reduced in the modification of the lower to make it the size of a .223 lower. Because of that reduction in area, there doesn't appear to be enough room for the trigger lock mechanism of the echo. I think Chris Bartocci's youtube channel has a video where he gives you a side by side view of the internals of the lower and you can see how little room is left. Franklin Arms BSFIII trigger is probably only option for this gun.
