From the interviews, individual students have selected a variety of programmes which will benefit our country. From their exit into their overseas education journey, they leave behind more spaces for their other colleagues to follow on, specially at the IHE. Congratulations to all our students. May you be good ambassadors of our country.👏💯

Mr. Benny Ryappan, you are one of the greatest school principals that I have come across back in Sogeri National. You have started the idea of school of excellence and during your term. Sogeri was one of the first National high school to be introduced to National school of excellence ❤❤❤
We all are proud of you. Thank the Marape Rosso govt for the initiative. After 5 years there'll be about 500 to 700 who will contribute meaningfuly for our countrys development. Study good. Thank you
Could you guys come out and say something to some of those first batch pioneer students who were supposed to go but didn't go due to other requirements. I hope those who are taking lead say something about this. All in all, congratulations to all our STEM juniors, we'll deserve 🎉❤

This the forward.I would like to thank our Government under the leadership of Hon. Prime minister James Marape and Minister for Education and our potential leaders for this initiative.. Nation building depends on quality education. Congratulations to all our kids studying overseas. Papua New Guinea depends on you . Let the red, black and gold flag fly higher for the world to see coz you represent our beautiful country and we believe that your studies will definitely impact the development of this sovereign Nation.🎉🎉🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓
The government doesn't need to send kids to USA. We're waisting more money. Instead invest in our premier universities to introduce new courses and upgrade to accredite our school systems.
Investing in our premier universities is quite different from sending smart students (not kids). Learning environment is important, and as you can see, even if the government does invest in PNG universities, you must also understand that it can not change the study environment here in PNG. The courses these students are taking are not offered in PNG tertiary institutions, either.
Nice to see, just returned from a short visit to South Dakota and Wyoming. While visiting US I realise that PNG has a very negative culture. Hopefully they returned with a different mindset to change these negative attitudes.
Very true statement from you fellow citizen. 100% agree with you. I have experienced living in the States for almost a decade and just returned home recently. I know the feeling.
It doesn't mean all Papua New Guinea students are dumb, since the outcome based education being a shit system. As well as the so called wantok system and many other contributing factors..
The Standard Based Education curriculum in Science and Mathematics which is currently being implemented in Secondary schools has really improved in content and intensity and complexity. Streaming into Maths and Science starts at Grade 11. Advanced Maths is taken from the beginning at Grade 11. Not all Distinctions students end up at the National School of Excellence. I hope the Government will do something for these lot of Science students graduating from Secondary schools too. The Govt should also roll out the STEM curriculum to Secondary Schools so that eligible students can access it . At the moment, the STEM curriculum sounds like its for the privilege few when we know that a lot of eligible students from Grade 10 with Credits and Distinctions in Science are left behind.

Are the students themselves choose the courses or the university choose the courses for them?
They chose it themselves at 5 choice preferences including Us,China,India and some more
