There are lots of mixed opinions about stocks and there projection in the next coming years, I aim for short term solid gains from market correction and I'd definitely jump on the boat if I knew a thing or two about day-trading, but then again what do I really know? I'm just looking for the right moves to grow and hedge my stagnant reserve of $370k from inflation.

BC = Ponzi scheme. BC started when a guy traded 2 pizzas for an entry on a computer ledger. How much more do you need to understand? A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that pays existing investors with funds collected from new investors. Ponzi scheme organizers often promise to invest your money and generate high returns with little or no risk. But in many Ponzi schemes, the fraudsters do not invest the money. Instead, they use it to pay those who invested earlier and may keep some for themselves.

If you stay invested and ignore the market's ups and downs, you'll make a lot of money in the long run; however, a severe market correction causes a lot of margin calls and sell-offs, driving the market even lower. People get greedy in this bull market, and it's extremely irresistible (fear of missing out) to buy more stocks with borrowed money or money they don't have. In the United States, people even bought stocks using their home equity line.

Laughable. They talk out of both sides of their mouth and then the next day congratulate themselves "...as we have been saying for a while..." reinforcing whichever way things went. @@J-P88 That was a significant outlier. Even so, this is why you dollar cost average over time and don't try to time the market. If you kept investing regularly leading into it and coming out of it, there would be significant gains over those decades from buying low. The market is up two out of every three years on average. Buying in regular intervals has yielded positive returns over the majority of most 3-5 year periods.

Ummm.... Senator Joe Manchin publicly pulled his support from the bill for not matching his envisioned cost of about $1.75 trillion, then subsequently retracted support for his own compromise legislation. This effectively killed the bill as it needs 50 senators to pass via reconciliation and all 50 Republican Senators opposed the bill, and there are minimal discussions with him to salvage its contents as of June 2022. It appears that MAGA and Build Back Better have failed. In 2024, the slogan will be "make America solvent again".
