An art trick for SAI: if you want to select the drawing as a flat color to create a mask later, just complete the open lines with the manual selection tool, then select the outside of the drawing and press invert selection. And voila! The silhouette of the drawing is a single color. I find it easier than coloring manually all around the lines, specially when you have a style with a lot of open lines like mine
