Sometimes, you need to take risks in life in order to advance. She lost the money and the house, but she also traveled, met great people, and learned her lessons.
9:25 my friend's house in PTA East was rented to a Zambian family who worked at the Zambia embassy, but it turned out multiple families were living in the house. Used nappies would get thrown out the window into the lawn, gardener had to blow the whistle eventually.
And your point in mention Zambia is??? She said African family. Could be black or another race. South African or another nationality.... what's your point?
I bought her album "Ndawo Yami," and then she disappeared from the face of the earth. R250k, 10 years ago, was a lot of money; in fact, it's still a lot of money. What she did, trying to backstab her label, was a foul move and she's paying the price for that. This should be a lesson to all artists.
I wouldn’t go to that extent as we were not there to know what she was going through at the time, we are not God to dictate why certain things are happening to certain people, in fact that’s witchcraft. Go cleanse your heart.
One thing I've noticed is record labels will prevent artists from releasing music when their contracts are about to end Or they sabotage the last album...so i get why she'd want to move
@@1wandol This one clearly doesn't know Zamajobe if you are putting her in the same conversation as these new kids. Disrespectful to say the least. Zamajobe is to be mentioned with the likes of Jill Scott, Erykah, Lira etc, REAL JAZZ INFLUENCED NEO SOUL LEGENDS as she is definitely one herself!!!!
So she leaves one place because they are expecting miracles and she thinks they being unfair then she moves and is connected to people who think she’s amazing but she doesn’t want to align her image with what they offering? Yeah no she must stay home and start her own thing.
You can do better, that was from a good heart from the label. I am sure they wanted her to do well not from hate. And she took it personal and used emotions. She worked with Sipho Sithole who worked like that so that when an artist releases, the song can work even for 2 years without loosing base.
I get you. We rarely hear perspectives from labels - it’s always artists portraying them as the devil and in this story she says they even gave her money to sort herself out..
@thedigitalawakening887 yes, most of the time artists do not take responsibility of their actions. Some labels do rip artists. Some do give them money, and they start changing friends, looks and live in gated town houses that are rented out by people for large profits. And the thing about music is that every year there will be a new and better artist, so financial literacy should be the first foundation.
You left church no longer in a worship team busy doing what you thought was right you steal God's blessings and dissapear forget the blesser of your life
My back in the fays crush Always respected her style sound and aura A true artist and a true song writer Loved you back then still love you more now The most beautiful female artist in Africa
Thank you Zama for being human, it's all part of being human and eventually things will fall into place...
What a missed opportunity that we wer denied Zama Jobe for so long, she was good

@lilyrunyowa6540 lol, at least now you know that when we say African we are referring to other Africans.
Still looking good Zama❤,
where have u been mama 😭, I loveeee u
You sample amapiano with one of your old songs and your problems will be solved
I hope she is listening ❤
She dont own her masters and the label wants its advance 😢
This is what I thought as well. She is to nice for the African market.
Maybe remake instead of resampling. That can work too
@Mbhokotamusic she doesn't own her music, she might get sued
This is so sad, hope u recover from this! God is with you 😘😊😊
She stand on business for her morals, principles and her identify. A failed career in Hollywood is actually a win now after #noDiddy situations
So adorable 🥰
It's the second Aalh that kills me😂. great to hear this story and go back to her music.
I wish you had stuck it out Zama man with your South African record label. We miss you gal❤❤
Stayed true to who you are. That's powerful

Lee Ritenour!!!! Wow!!

Her style Is to nice for the African market. She needs to listen to today kids Asake and his freinds. 😊
She is a different breed not those boys of auto tune

@@AmapianoWrldwideAVSZAHer music is on that level indeed❤❤ I still listen to her music right now.
NY then the grass doesn't look greener like it is when you see it from South Africa
I've been asking myself where she has been.
Woooh hle! the amount of judgement in this comment section... yho!#ClapsOnce👏🏾
❤❤❤
Wow! Is this the face behind the voice behind Talk Radio.
So she leaves one place because they are expecting miracles and she thinks they being unfair then she moves and is connected to people who think she’s amazing but she doesn’t want to align her image with what they offering? Yeah no she must stay home and start her own thing.
Like?? I get her wanting some freedom, but come on now. Basically she couldn't maximize the exposure and she was just too stuck in her ways...
You don't audition? Yet you're looking for greener pastures? Isn't auditioning part of showcasing yourself to new audiences?
She is got discography
I still don't understand why artists don't wa t to be auditioned.
Me too hey
Even the best execs still go for Interviews.

Ay Zama, the more i listen to you in various platforms the more you dissapoint me. I know nobody is perfect including myself but damn girl. Ay khona
Very judgemental
@bothlalephawe4022 Ay suka. Mdala lomuntu. I would totally understand if she was a teenager.
So she too momey and went to NYC knowing she didnt pay her house
Maybe if she had paid for the house she wouldn’t have been able to go to NYC
@@sihlesihle6838that sounds very responsible.

🤔🤔
Eh eh did she say that, like locals made you but you do not wanna work with them,or i got that wrong
Lets be honest she was the problem hope she is no longer the problem
8:18 they wanted to turn you into Tyla
Yes. That’s the standard template. It easier to sell than the Zen/chakra vibe yabo Man Erykah 😅
That R250k was an investment to self. You chose self.
I love how she had no issues taking the record labels money when she was in the hole but then again she had issues with the label🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She's not serious
