Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion characterized by a "free and responsible search for truth and meaning".
The Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church does not have a creed.
Instead, UUs are unified by their shared search for spiritual growth.
As such, UU congregations include many agnostics, theists, and atheists among their membership.
The roots of UU are in liberal Christianity, specifically Unitarianism and Universalism.
Unitarian Universalists state that from these traditions come a deep regard for intellectual freedom and inclusive love.
Congregations and members seek inspiration and derive insight from all major world religions.
The beliefs of individual Unitarian Universalists range widely, including atheism, agnosticism, pantheism, deism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Neo-Paganism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Daoism, Humanism, and many more.
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) was formed in 1961 through the consolidation of the American Unitarian Association, established in 1825, and the Universalist Church of America, established in 1793.
It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and serves churches mostly in the United States.
A group of thirty Philippine congregations is represented as a sole member within the UUA.
The Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) became an independent body in 2002.
The UUA and CUC are, in turn, two of the seventeen members of the International Council of Unitarians and Universalists.

I would like to be a Unitarian Universalist…….but the material I search for is not easy to find.
What do they believe? I here that there were accepting and tolerances of other beliefs with religions Unlike they didn’t believe in seeing the dislikes in any other customs, they have a belief where it is a step to a profound respect that holds meaning to the Human Race. Unfortunately I have been surrounded by too much unnecessary hype that gives the impression “Blind Faith’ when it came to acceptance of other religions. I am interested in learning about. the belief customs, and culture.

Does their concept of human rights include the right to life? Does their concept of inclusiveness include the unborn?

Sasha Kwapinski most of them are liberals so they probably are pro choice

    • @Vurbanowicz

Yes, most of us are pro-choice, but we don't typically believe abortion for any reason is necessarily justified. Churches and the denominational body uphold freedom of choice on this matter. An opposing view will get a respectful hearing but will not make much headway. I think I'm a typical UU in being suspicious of the motives of "pro-life" advocates.

I'm surprised. The seventh Principle looks very Taoist to me ("Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.")

Maybe they just didn't know what to say because they didn't know what it was! Sermons sometimes quote Lao-Tsu, so the clergy are less ignorant. I don't approve of shunning. Years ago in my congregation we had a member who said she believed that every flower was a fairy. Not a typical belief and, truth be told, a little loopy, but socially she fit in nicely.

Unitarianism is denial of the truth of who God is and what He has done in Christ. It is a movement on the broad road to destruction that Jesus warned about.

Christ is the only way. Remember the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 4 had said that there are two Jesus, two gospels and another spirit. The Universalist have been around at least 300 years and its an Antinomian spirit.

I just applied for a pianist job at one of these places. My phone kept going dead thank God! The guy said they were a " Coven ". That's witches! So if you believe in anything they don't want you. Fantastic!!!
