Top tip is always be nice to lifties even when they're not to you! Darren and I got there at half past 9, not intending to launch until after 12, and the lifty grumbled that we weren't there for half past 8 (the lift starts at 9!). They have to slow the lift down for hang gliders and have to phaff about inserting racks into the cabin's ski racks so they really don't like doing it (even though we had paid a supplement). It wasn't a busy day for hikers and bikers, the queue was very short. We hung around with our gliders and harnesses for about half an hour trying the catch the lifty's eye and look friendly eventually at a point when the queue was so short it was almost non-existent, people were pretty much stepping straight into a cabin I managed to catch his attention and with lots of hand gestures at the lack of queue and smiling and pointing he let us on. We kept smiling and thanking him for letting us on and even got a bit of smile in return. Hopefully he'll be a bit easier on the next hangies that turn up. On the other hand if you're rude to them you can bet they'll take it out on the next one they get through. We want to keep as many lifts open to HG as possible!
Fuzzy cat over the mic won't work I'm afraid - it's a 360 camera - wherever you put the fuzzy cat, it will be seen on the video. Believe me... I've tried allsorts of things to cover the mic!!! Nice idea though. Cheers Tim

They should have those for hang gliders too, not even on every gondola necessarily. If they did this, I would def. consider flying hang gliders because one BIG reason I fly paragliders is precisely the ability to easily transport it without any help. If they only could invent a hang glider that folds into a backpack, I'm game. Oh, great views, BTW! Never flown the Dolomites, looks extra.
Turn the beeping noise off, totally ruins what would otherwise be a great video
Beeping noise? You mean the vario?
@@MooSurfer sorry mate, yeah I was referring to the beeping noise. I now see it is a common thing. Guess I don't know what I'm talking about. Just thought it ruined the peacefulness of a nice video
@@SkullKingSkate Ahhh I see! That beeping noise is music to the ears of a hang-glider pilot. The beeps tell me that I'm going up - the more it beeps, the faster I'm going up! It's the instrument we use to thermal. We don't need to look at it, but use the beeps to centre ourselves in the strongest part of the lift.
@@MooSurfer Awesome Darren, I did a tandem flight recently and have been looking skyward ever since. Hopefully doing some lessons in a month. I've participated in a lot of sports but I think I've finally found something I will fully commit to.

I'm giving you a Thumbs Down because I'm jealous.
