I like how Nagisa has such talent as an assassin that his morals are somewhat affected (as seen when during the instructor fight when he came to the conclusion that he “just” had to kill him) and yet for the most part he’s still just a kid who doesn’t want the people he cares about to be hurt.

This is one of my favorite shows with some of my favorite characters but I'll probably never re-watch it because (SPOILER) Koro sensei... They should've come up with some sort of plan putting their smarts to work to save him. Everything kinda felt pointless in the end to be honest. I mean the character development was great but the story basically ended up right where it started. For such a good show to leave you with feelings of depression and sadness at the end really dampens all the greatness of it.
You kinda always new, Koro sensei needs to be killed at the end and it's not that bad of an ending in my opinion. After all the happy endings, the students got also confronted with a sad ending, they could not prevent the death of Koro Sensei, even after hardest work, bc some things will happen no matter what Also the death was also a part of development, as they needed to let him go, even tho they wanted him to live. They had to learn to be independent and go their lives, without Koro Sensei as a back bone. I personally wouldn't say the show ended with sadness. The students became succesful and followed their goals. They were thankful for Koro Sensei being such a good teacher and did the best of it, as Koro Sensei would want it.
But that's what makes it have meaning. Spoilers contained. If he didn't die in the end to his students when they didn't want to, the show wouldn't have the feeling that we need to face the sad reality but still carry on as there is still happiness to be found. If he wasn't killed, it would just be another show of defeating villains, just in a modern setting.
The thing is, their are only pupil after all, no highly ranked scientists who had studied the cells Koro Sensei is made from for years. Yeah, they can overcome many things and have an A.I. on board, but most things are just things every basicschooled 30 year old can come up with and martial arts. The only thing i could come up with would be putting Koro Sensei into Cryostasis and shoot him to mars, so even if he explodes there it would mean no harm to earth (except for a few broken pupil hearts). The idea behind this is to freeze him so the reaction in the cells will be slowed down nearly to zero so they have like decades to come up with a solution. Problems are, you dont know if he will wake up from icesleep after you find a solution, humanity dont have the technology to retrieve him from there and im very sure global governments would just send him up into orbit and then try to explode the rocket to keep costs low. But in the end the show ended the right way. Because it shows life: Everything comes to an end, even stars and highly sure even the whole universe. Everyone you meet, everyone who influenced you in your life will pass away, up to the point when it is your turn to go whereever we go after this life, even if its nothingness. But its not about being together forever and never go, because thats for little child stories. Its not about the finish line of life, its about the way until then. Sure, you can throw away all this precious life because you dont see any sense in living with rent and debt and then rotting under the ground. But thats a waste, there are so many years full of possible joy, adventure, emotions, memories you can explore, feel and be happy about. Yeah, life has its dark sides, but these just make the happy things even better. And thats the last lesson Koro Sensei teached us with his memory books and all his life as an octopus. He enjoyed every second of it, he loved every memory, he was happy, he was sad, he LIVED finally after many years of just killing people without a real way in his life. And life ends, for some earlier, for some later, but its about the way, and he took every damn tentacle step of his last way with joy, love and happiness. He took every emotion he could get and admired it, thats why he couldnt hide his emotions but showed them colored. That was his last lesson. Thank you Koro Sensei.
Theres a new anime named something along the lines of worlds best hitman reincarnated as an aristocrat, it would be pretty awesome if that hitman had actually been Nagisa.
It’s like the tenth time I watch it (it’s really cool!) and I realize that there is a footage of Nagisa and Karma with "Équipe Ne Pas Tuer" et "Équipe Tuer", which is the French version of the anime. So are you French or something like that? I am myself and it surprised me to see it!
