If possible, try to grow this plant under growlight. I have very good experience with growing calathea under Growlight (10-12 hours of light a day). 🌸🌸
If you have spider mite infestation, throw away the old potting mix. Wash the plant thoroughly under running water. Make sure the there are no spider mites left on the stem, leaves, or root. Wash the pot thoroughly as well. Now plant it in a fresh soil mix. Spray it with neem oil solution. And keep checking the plant over some time. I have controlled spider mites this way and it has worked for me.
Use nitrogen-rich fertilizer. I usually add a handful of leaf compost once every couple of months. Nitrogen improves the leafy growth of the plants. 🌷🌷💐
For lot's of Plant's Osmosis water is feasible. I water my Plant's with osmosis water from my aquarium. Fertiliser + Soft water. Tap water is unhealthy for the decorative rainforest tropical Plant's.
@@Plantalogy You're Welcome ma'am. I've only 2 tropical Plant's. The rest are fruit tree's. Which I've to protect from the frost before the arrival of spring. I reside in Northern part of Europe & unfortunately it's complicated to keep a tropical plants without a roof made up of glass covering & similar enclosures. Because during the winter sunshine is scarce & the chillingly cold wind from the baltic sea is bad enough to hurt the nose & ear.
**Note** Calatheas prefer around 60-70% humidity to maintain their leaf moisture.☘️☘️
