Barb’s is great. Interesting, a lot of Harley riders are saying the cable clutch is no big deal.
Some people just aren't happy unless they're complaining about something especially the I hate Harley club. Ive ridden both clutch types and I personally prefer the feel of the cable clutch. Plus you can adjust it to grab where you personally like it
This is so true.... you can't reinvent the wheel ever year. I think they have a bunch of fantastic looking colors this year!! If people want something new and different they will get that on the 22nd when they release the Pan American
So true! I prefer the cable clutch on my '09 bones over the '18 Roadglide.
Agree. The feel of a cable clutch lets you feel the engagement better. And way easier to adjust to your preferred engagement sweet spot. You cant do that with a hydraulic clutch unless you drop some $$ on a new adjustable lever and hydraulic solenoid.

I feel like they had a good release of new paints...But they did fail at the big 'virtual release' that they had. But I can't say I could have done it better. I'd like to see them shift that savings from the clutch and put more into the suspension. But then again, my newest Harley is 23 years old and I love it....
We would ALL Love to see them do something better with the suspension. No doubt!!!

If i am spending my hard earned on a new bike, I want it with the latest tech on it. How do you ever think Harley will attract riders like me if they are asking me to accept old tech on a new bike?
It is by no means a deal breaker for me, I am looking at it from a commercial standpoint of enticing new harley riders as opposed to current Harley owners that are immersed in the brand already.
I am pretty sure that their business model shows that they need a certain amount of new Harley owners every year to have sustainability, I don't think new paint and an old clutch cable is enough to do that.
Harley has been hanging tough so far Zedhead. We all buy motorcycles for different reasons. I think if the market was technology driven HD would have folded up shop a long time ago. Different strokes.
Part of me agrees with you. And I don't know the answer to getting younger Harley buyers
And then part of me thinks this is an issue that's been beaten to death and the reality is They aren't going to gain a ton of "younger buyers" no matter what they do because guys in there 20s are enamored with speed and sport bikes AND they don't have the money to buy Harleys... if Harley added a Ton of the newest tech to a Roadglide. That's gonna bump a regular Roadglide standard up into the high low 30k range. What 20 year Olds are buying that even though it had all the tech u are looking for??
ALSO, Does Indian have a ton of YOUNG buyers????
I feel like the reality is that the NEW Harley buyers come from young guys that hit their 30s and graduate from sport bike speed to comfort on Harley Cruisers!!!
You get a harley because you want to be part of the culture. The sound, the look, the feel. And using a cable clutch in this year releases was a good move in my opinion. Not only is it saving the company money in the restructuring and from what i noticed the prices were not horrible.
So for someone to be enticed to get the latest tech on a bike. Might as well look at a goldwing and not get the true feel of what riding a hog really is about. Lol
Though i do agree with you that to entice anyone now a days. Everything needs to be the newest tech, gadgets and doodads. But in reality, that is not what riding a harley is about.

I think your missing the point behind riding if you want every electronic gadget there is on a bike. Thats just my humble opinion. When I go out for a ride I dont want all that. I just want to get in the sweet zone of me and the bike so the world disappears for a while
