Seeing India through your lens is just something Max! Even though I live here I can’t get enough of your India series - you capture India’s beauty (and food) so well! ❤️
This video was so good. Love Max's energy and excitement and innocence also of not knowing what something is and yet enjoying it. No shenanigans. Just modern and desi food and his excitement and his stories of what a certain food reminds him of and how it compares to other cities. Really genuine.
I have been to this very Persian Darbar outlet a few years back . The waiter told you to try chicken biriyani as its the bestseller but that doesn't mean its the best biriyani! Actually many people in India don't eat mutton that much (for them it tastes a bit gamy) and hence chicken biriyani is by far the most popular variant. As a rule of thumb mutton biriyani is better than chicken biriyani unless one doesn't like mutton in the first place. I think I had mutton ran biriyani there and it was quite good.
*Brother you are right. I also tried mutton Raan Biryani in Persian Darbar and trust me, I will never forget that ever. I had biryanis in Hyderabad too but Raan biryani was ultimate and memorable experience. I wish I get a chance to eat that again. 😭*
What we Indians take for granted - a large variety of tasty foods, kind strangers helping you with directions or just a relaxed street corner food stall serving yummy snacks - it is something unique for Westerners. Time we start valuing what we have.
Been in Mumbai for 10 years, I would recommend to try Chicken Kepsa (biryani like dish) from Mumbai Darbar in Byculla. It is the dish I have never got bored of, or never will be. They usually serve in a very big plate full of Kepsa.
