    Looks like it could do with an extendible rear hydraulic skid to cover over-enthusiastic fast stops in combat situations. I'm thinking here of something along the lines of the long rear tail wheel of the Black Hawks that cover that issue well. I could be wrong, but tail strikes look quite likely, at least from the way the machine held the flair very tail down in the video at 2:03.

    • @babalonkie
      @babalonkie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can unclip those middle seats and remove them, also you could fit two stretchers on either side anyways.
      Personally i think UK should go with the NH90/MH90 NATO Frigate Helicopter, most of Europe has gone with it as well as Australia. It can carry more and has better avionics... also looks sexier lol

    • @modelrailwaynoob
      @modelrailwaynoob 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Babalonkie I understand they can be unclipped but it doesn't work like that on a battlefield. You need to be able to get a stretcher in, in front of those seats and the angle looks difficult with the size of the door. It was rare that helicopters were fitted just for stretchers. They have seats in for troops 99% of the time.

    Is H175 based on NH90?

    • @mathieue.adamski
      @mathieue.adamski 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. NH90 is a mess, a joint venture of many U.E countries who came with their own specifications. Too complex. Terrible MCO.
      H175, like next H160, is an Airbus Hélicopter's, so Eurocopters one, so Aerospatiale one (junction between Nord Aviation et Sud Aviation) : established in Marignane, France (near Marseille). So, normally, a well-born one.

  • @dibdab699
    @dibdab699 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The problem is why would anyone go near Airbus after the NH90 debacle.

    • @mathieue.adamski
      @mathieue.adamski 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because NH90 is no Airbus Helicopters. It is the result of a conglomerate between Dutch, Germans, Italians, French, Portuguese, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegians and Belgians... Well, a mess. NH Industries is an joint venture between Airbus Helicopters, AgustaWestland (fused with Leonardo-Finmeccanica) and Fokker Technologies. Nobody will do this mistake again (two much demands and specifications = too complex, not "rustique" enough).

    • @daemonicust
      @daemonicust 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NH90 is a fine aircraft let down by some operators and everyone blaming someone else for problems. New Zealand has the smallest fleet with the highest flying and serviceability rates in the world, just goes to show that its not what you have its how you use and maintain it.

    With the disaster of the NH90 being retired in Sweden Norway and Australia and the abysmal service record of the Tiger I wouldn't trust Airbus about helicopter: it's not that they are "bad concept" but they are acting as a committee where every participant has to bring and enforce an idea as a point of honour. France did a better job when Nord ans Sud Aviation were acting as aerospace company rather then being melted inside the Airbus political bureau. It it's simple and it works, the design has not been discussed enough!

      Australia are in the process of trying to retire the NH90, they haven’t officially done it yet. The NH90 isn’t a disaster, the disaster comes from those who don’t care for the aircraft they have, in that they just throw money at the problem. New Zealand has the highest serviceability rate of any NH90 operator in the world, 75 % or there about’s. When the smallest fleet has the highest flying and serviceability rate, its not the aircraft that’s the issue.

      @@daemonicust But the fact it has the smallest fleet explains why serviceability rates are so poor. The graph for serviceability rates is u shaped. This means very small and very large fleets have the best serviceability rates for the same airframe. Every other NH90 operating country has a medium sized fleet.

      ain't Airbus Helis used in oil and marine environments?

    • @Fr4Ged
      @Fr4Ged ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PrograError It is used everywhere. They basically have the monopoly for rescue, police and private aviation helicopters in Europe. The issues are with the military helicopters like NH90, Tiger. Helicopters like H135, H145 etc. have been solid for years.

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fr4Ged i would argue about his monopoly, that it's only "enforced", in Germany Spain and France and everywhere else where Airbus has a political leverage, through a semi protectionist attitude: everywhere else Leonardo Bell and Sikorsky dominates, including europe
