This may be a stupid question on my part, but what system are you playing this on? Did it originally come out on Nintendo?

I'm playing this on an emulator called Visual Boy Advanced on PC. This is a rom hack (custom edit) of the original Pokemon Crystal version that came out on Game Boy Color.
