Just to inforn Mr Tarar that Takshila was not the only University at that time. There were total 17 universities in 6-7century in our Bharat when other countries didn't knew how to speak properly.

Tarar Sahab, education of girls is free up to Class 12 in India. Free midday meals are offered to children from weaker sections. Look at the speed with which number of Engg and Medical colleges is increasing in India.

Once it goes beyond $6,000, extreme poverty will get eradicated and that’s when India will become center of growth. Our culture people education are good to lead the world. Dear half of the people getting free food grains don't need it. I have seen since it's free people use it.
It has to be a temporary measure but often it is a vote catching gimmick. Jayalalitha did it by providing cheap lunch to all in Tamil Nadu and completely emptied the State exchequer.

Dear Qammar Cheema if you are even remotely understand what kind of brand India has been since last 3000 years and more, let you read a fantastic book "The Wonder That Was India" by Dr A L Basham, an Australian Professor who has written so well researched book. Do read it once and it will be a huge eye opener. I recommend the same book to Sajit Taraar Sahab too who would enjoy it even more.
In India, school, college books and food inside schools are also given free of cost. The Indian government does this work only in spirit of helping, they want that a well educated committee should be created in India which can take India to greater heights.

चीमा मैंने पहले भी कमेंट किया था कि भारत जो 80 करोड़ लोगों को मुफ्त में राशन दे रहा है उसका असली कारण है कि सरकार को किसानों से आवश्यकता से ज्यादा अनाज खरीदना पड़ता है। पहले की सरकारों में वह अनाज सड़ जाता था और औने पौने दामों में शराब के कारखानों को बेंच दिया जाता था। मोदी सरकार उस अनाज को लोअर मिडिल क्लास तक फ्री दे रही है ताकि बचे हुए पैसे वे शिक्षा पर लगा सकें। भारत में शिक्षा की उन्नति का यह भी एक कारण है।

LaadLi Behna was a reciprocal step towards Congress appeasement policy on similar lines in Karnataka (5 promises ), hence the scheme.
Tarar Sahab you are correct, we should not give free bees. But the problem is, AAP party started this trend in North. In South it is already there from many decades. Modiji tried to cut this trend in North and middle part of India. But sadly in this task he failed badly. They lost 2 important states Karnataka, and Himachal because of this. Now this is the course correction to win the elections. People believe in him, if he says they get. Hence 3 states they won. I too did not like this free bees trend which now picking up. But there is no solution as of now, even Modiji failed to curtail this.
Surprisingly people understand this, even educated. However they like to take benefit of it. Once you take benefit, you vote for that party. As simple as that. India has huge middle and lower middle class. Even if they save 100 rupees, it is good. Currently in Maharashtra, women's started getting 50% subsidy on the bus ticket. Suddenly huge amount of women started travelling. Buses are filled with women. Many tasks which men are used to do, now women are doing to get the benefit of this. Even revenue of the Bus improved. In this case it is win win. However that is not the case everywhere else. State govts are in loss and going for loans to fulfill their election promises and getting bankrupt. One good thing about Bjp, is they are working out the schemes before launching and not launching them blindly, example Maharashtra bus scheme.
In All govt schools till 7 th standards books are given for free...after that the books are given in very less price...the people who score high, they are given laptops, cycles and scooty..there are many schemes you are not aware of..for women, for farmers , for business start ups...now in MP, they give separate loans only to women who will start their business and start ups
Tarar saaf , Myself being an Indian totally agree with ur logic that learning based incentives should be implanted. Ofcourse there might be some aged MAs for whome this logic might not work but still lot of young woman present who can learn.
This is why I have unfathomable respect for Sajid Tarar Ji. The government stipend to women and the loan waiver to women SHGs have proved to be detrimental to our society. Our people are impressed by freebies (I'm talking about my state) and never think twice before casting their vote. If you see our grass-roots politicians, you'll see them building syndicates of commodities and building a nexus with the mafia to frighten the common population.

Credit where due, Tarar sir gave a very good idea that under Ladli Behna Yojana it would have been more useful if Women (Mothers specifically) would have been given Rs. 1250 per month if they send their daughters to school. This would have acted as an incentive.
This would have a dual impact:
1. Financially Empower Women since they'll get money in their bank accounts
2. Lead to Socio-economic empowerment of their daughters.
Overall it would lead to development of society.
Although BJP in its Manifesto has promised Girls from Below Poverty Line (BPL) Families Free Education uptill Post Graduation- this should be linked to the Ladli Behna Yojana now to ensure families have an added incentive to allow their girls to complete education.
It would lead to Socio-economic development of the society.
