My Visit to Brighton on the British Airways i360
Filmed Using my Gopro Hero 4 Black and my Feiyu Tech G4 Gimbal
Take a flight to the skies and see Sussex as you have never seen it before. Glide up slowly to 450 feet high to enjoy breath-taking 360 degree views of up to 26 miles from the world’s first vertical cable car, conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, the creators of the London Eye.
What a view! THat couple that were observed to be shagging on the seats a couple of years ago were actually missing out.

If they’d built it on the nearby south downs then perhaps the view to France 70 miles away would’ve been possible ! I believe one can see the high ground beyond Cherbourg from the IOW but only from up the Rowridge TV Tansmitter which would be over a 1000ft above sea level. I wanna go up there for sure 😁

I wonder if you can see parts of France from up there on a clear day??? I know that in Dover, calais Town Hall and its details can be seen very clearly with the naked eye

Apparently the furthest place west from which one can see France is on the high ground on the outskirts of Hastings. A chap wrote how it’s at a park “ near the hospital “ but I haven’t the name. He reckoned with the correct weather conditions and at night you can see the lights of various towns along the French coastline and with good zoom binoculars etc the tv mast behind the town which begins with B which I or this device cannot guess ! He said the mast was about 50 miles distant. So it’s not just from the Kent cliff tops from where one can see France.
A fisherman told me on one occasion his boat was equidistant between St Catherine’s at the south tip of IOW & Barfleu near Cherbourg - about 59 miles and he could see both lighthouse beams at least !

I have been twice
went on it and noticed coffee was £3.20 while we waited.. someone missed a trick they shudda charged £3.60 felt mugged that it didn't go all the way to the top after paying £17 you could pay up to £90+ to go on the roof and walk around and hang by a rope.. plus you'd need a second mortgage to buy a drink on it.. but the views were ok..👍

But.... what if the thing malfunctions and is stuck at the top? People fear lots of things, the platform plunging to the ground, terrorism, etc. but the lack of a loo has to top them all.
Oh... and a well-done video. I enjoyed the ride... with the safety of youtube and toilet down the hall.

@@echt114 This did happen in the early days when it first opened, and they had to pull up the floor to deal with it. I am glad I was not around at the time. However, one is only up there now for 20 minutes - I got fed up with it after 5.

The EYESORE 360 as it’s known and that’s exactly what it is the WEST PIER was burnt deliberately as the owners were JEALOUS the MONEY should’ve gone to WEST PIER NOT THIS

Wast of time and money. And you can get a much better view, free of charge, from up on the South Downs behind Brighton.

It is difficult if not impossible to imagine or understand this scatterbrained and profligate use of public money.
Given that now in 2023 it is a huge white elephant, perhaps its function could be improved by altering it from its so called dough ball ascending and descending slowly to it going up like a rocket, pausing for a few minutes at the top to view the rooftops of Brighton, "Coo, what a sight" and then dropping like a stone. That would scare the hell out of me but think of the thrill seeking adrenalin junkies who would love it and come back time and again for more. Maybe the white elephant could then turn a profit, but I doubt it.
Jewish lightning has taken too much from Brighton, especially the piers, so let's hope it leaves this feature alone.

Technically speaking, this isn't the tallest observation tower in the world. There's a tower in a city I used to live in that's 500 feet tall, while this one is 450 (And it looks like it doesn't even go all the way to the very top).
It's called the "Top of Texas Tower" in Dallas, Texas - USA
Not only does it move up and down, but it spins slowly as well. I even rode it myself. It's really cool!

I come from Brighton and this is the ugliest most moronic eyesore on which money has been totally wasted by a profligate local council. Wait till it begins to deteriorate, get unsafe. Rebuilt the old pier and bring back history to our town.Working abroad I despair of the stupidity that allows infantile councils to waste tax payers money instead or really bettering the city...and what can you see - nothing of any real interest.
