that’s completely normal, all skin has texture and it would be really surprising if your skin didn’t have multiple of the things described

@@erismana2105Oh my gosh- THIS! I go nuts with other folks-trying to sort what’s the filter from what is their actual skin, so, what is the actual product ON skin-really like! And he nailed it- we all know the appearance of a color shade vairies -you want to see it on your skin if it’s a costly foundation. But yes- it’s texture - whether the gorgeous makeup, in the container- accidentally enhances bumps or wrinkles, on a face- that filers distort. He doesn’t do that just to pitch a product. He’s like a professor meets test-kitchen level info and integrity. ❤

Its important to remember that in real life up close influencers are gonna look pretty similar to the rest of us!
Makeup will never 100% look like skin, you will always always always see texture, wrinkles, bumps, etc.
Its easy to spot it and feel ugly in our own makeup, remember to take two big steps back from your wall mirror, that's how 99% of people will see you, and you wont be able to see the crusties in your makeup from that normal distance.
The only people seeing you up close are your friends, family, partner, your date, etc and all those people will either love you flaws and all or are petty and you dont need em

I'm 42yrs and in the last year my skin has started showing things on my face that I have never had before. My pores are SOOOO MUCH BIGGER, I have a few places on my face were it looks like a 🕳️ hole in my face. I have never had a problem with acne. So not sure what that is !?!? Also dark spots. Not bad with the wrinkles "YET,KNOCK ON WOOD !!"

@@melli98 I started using Cerave resurfacing retinol serum. It was literally the main product on multiple reddit threads for scars, and I tell you. I do construction, had plexiglass explode and go in my skin everywhere. I have no scars anymore. It's a little pump tube. Walmart its about $18. I put it 1st minimal, slight tingle, use other serums to spread it. I am not the this will fix your skin chic. But I'm 40, and I wear no foundation. Nothing to cover! For me, Max Factor Pan Cake gave the ultimate smooth matte finish. It's what the movie stars of the 1940s wore. It was created for the first big colour movie, and when filming was done, all the models who were in it raided MGM's make-up department, and brought all the Pan Cake back to NYC with them.
In 1998, I was working at an IT company, and the owner decided to get professional headshots of everyone. He hired a photographer, but no MUAH artist. Everyone marvelled at how perfect my complexion was in my headshot, and they couldn't believe it when I told them it was thanks to a 60-year-old type of make-up.
I still have a Pan Cake in my freezer, though I haven't worn it since my days as a burlesque performer. Max Factor never should have discontinued it.

Wish I'd heard this 3-4 yrs ago about texture. Then there's hairstyle texture . . .

😢 thank you!!! Because every time I do my makeup I just feel worse about my age. I am an older woman, I do have fine lines, wrinkles, and when I’m done with my makeup I feel like it is caked on! This is perfection!

I wish you could try a drugstore brand as well as a high-end brand of whether it's a primer, powder.... if there is one of both that you recommend and if not why. I love your input so much and it really makes a huge difference in what I purchase or if I do

literally this. as a teen, I could color match my skin to hide acne fairly well and I'd strategically blend different color correctors and concealer shades. but no matter how hard I tried, I could not physically conceal the actual shape of my skin

Thank you! My skin has so much texture and SO many products just look awful on me. I feel like i can never find products that work for me because no one ever talks about products that work with textured skin and not against it
