Sounds like your putted the Funnelweb in upside down ? The filter end is outside the box , with the black rubbish base going in the snorkel hole ( with grease around the bottom of it ) also if you have the frog skin then no point running a pre- filter as it will let through fine dust particles then by- passes the pre- filter . Just use the pre- filter when on dusty dirt roads or tracks ( obviously when it’s winter or wetter and on Asphalt- take the pre- filter out and run airbox open without snorkel .
Hey mate a couple questions. I've just tossed the ini filter for similar reasons but also I was getting lots of rubber particles inside the filter box which i presume was from chafing on rough roads and trails from the rubber against the plastic. Just changed to Twin air and also have the funnel web. The funnel web doesn't seem to fit properly well in that I mean there's and oval cutout on the box and an oval raised bit on the funnel web similar shape but cannot go et it to fit into each other so basically only the foam section goes into the box. I also have a 550 air filter box cover with the frogskin to let more air in. The setup seems pretty good but just wondering if you have shaved anything of your box to get the funnel web to fit better or it doesn't matter? And also are you oiling your filters in the twin air cartridge? Or just the pre filter didn't look like it? As still seemed very yellow. I much prefer the twin air system. Only had one really good ride with it and seemed to work well. A little dust made it to outside of filter and pre filter was pretty dirty. But have pretty much ended up where you are now. Maybe I will go to uni filter foam but at moment it seems ok.
