thank you for another awesome video. i love the way you break it down simply and smoothly. I find the 'perfect angle' is the same angle as your catching forearm's angle.... so I kind of, attach the stick from elbow (catching arm) to shoulder (release arm) then release. this gives me a perfect guided angle to get that line.... for me anyways :)
It reminds me of a kali stick move, but kali sticks are a bit short for it to be great for strikes but works great on your stick length and a staff. I always use 2 kali sticks so I couldent use it there anyway. It's reminiscent of some single nunchaku moves, but I enjoy the double stick routines and traded in the nunchaku when I discovered escrima sticks are way more efficient and deadly plus I don't believe in nunchaku anymore lol (I was very impressionable 😳😆) so I was lucky I knew the flows from that and kali flows were instantly incorporated. Ive always done walking stick moves and I love a stick with a wooden ball on the end (traditional zulu African knobkerri) absolutely deadly and like a murderous drummy stick, made of African hardwood or ebony, which is heavy. I imagine the heavy ball gives you options and allows you different positioning and can prevent slipping in some moves have you seen this weapon before? It has a brother called an assegai, which is a short spear the length of a sword with a short wooden handle (you must have seen that about) Chaka Zulu made it famous. I'm so going to be that old man with a walking stick one day lol doing the moves I learnt on your channel! So badass! thanks!
Gr8 head smacker to wake me up in the morning... You mentioned lack of mobility(shoulders, wrist, etc) any suggestions on how to improve them? Does practicing the basic flow help with mobility?
August 2017 / I am super late on seeing this March vid. Quick question: Is THAT a Hanbo style staff? The shorter length caught my attention. I have a rattan Northern Shaolin KF staff which is the standard length. This vid is great; thank you for posting. Been wanting to get a Hanbo style length.
Really great tutorial. I couldn't help notice that you break your grip when spinning. Is that normal? In Arnis/Eskrima stick or staff, that's a big no no. Thanks for posting, cheers!
I would love to see this done with a saber....i can see how it would flow with the staff, but what about with a standard saber? Keep up the great work, the videos are well composed and easy to follow.
OMG! You are the master, yourself! Thank you for being SUCH an influential force in committing to my dreams of being a stuntman; you are Amazing!!! And I hope to be AT LEAST half as bad ass as you some day
How long is the staff you are using? I am trying this with a 1 meter staff and I don't have to mobility to make the shoulder wrap work. Should I try a 1,20?
This a badass really if only I can do that in a month ...basically,we don't have a space in the house..haha..I want to do it in my room..but no space..I want to practice it alone in the house if only theres no boss here.. 😂😂

It is a Hanbo from BudoBrothers.com! I have the purple heart. Check them out, they're awesome! Might get a discount if you mention me!

Nice video Michelle. You seem to have a nack for teaching. Definitely clear and complete instructions.
Is this skill applicable to nunchucks? I'd love to know before giving it a try
