Sweet. I'm itching even more to get my tower up. Especially since I can't make it into the clubs D-Star repeater. I'm hoping 40+ more feet for the GP-9 will do the trick. Lookin good man!
So does the derick bring up the tower or is there a cable attached to the tower? Nice setup. I run that Mosley here but only at 32’. Would like to try 64’ to see how much better it performs. I’m uncertain of the stress points of rohn tower
The cable runs over the top of the derrick and to the tower. The derrick lowers the lifting angle when it is close to the ground making it much easier to lift. A cable over a derrick at a 45 deg angle requires half the lifting force of one at a 20 deg angle just going straight to the tower.
It's the pipe that the winch connects to and it connects to the tower. When the tower is down the derrick is up and vise versa. It changes the pulling angle to help lift it off the ground
Looking good Wes!!
Thanks Zach
Awesome video Wes looks great.
Thanks Shaun hopefully I'll get all the bugs worked out soon.

Thanks Marvin, I've got some work still to do on it and it's going to have to come back down again soon to fix a coax issue but it's getting there.
badass!
How tall was the derrick pole? is there a formula? I am putting up a 55' Rohn 45g

So guess I missed it, what’s the term falling Derrick mean?, doesn’t look like a literal falling Derrick to me
