    That was a most helpful demonstration of a first clip. Dante was so well behaved. The video was clear and informative. Thank you.

    did a really good job showing the hind end clipping, many videos didn't have that and I needed to see how the lines go back there

    Excellent demo! Thank you! To help prevent scratches in wet winter months, do you recommend clipping legs (we have a sand ring)?

    Hi Sonia, I know you are busy but I wonder at some stage could you consider doing a video on diagonals, I'm afraid I struggle with them. Thank you.

      Hi yes I have already shot the footage for this. I am just halfway through clipping part two and then will aim to do the rising trot / posting trot video and diagonals next. Sorry I am not uploading so frequently, need to do more work now but I will keep uploading when I can x

    Q Doesn't clippers heat up blade? Do you give a break for cooling blade off?

    • @yeaho6706
      @yeaho6706 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jo Ann yeah you should take a break when you feel the blade heating up so it doesn’t hurt them :)

    Why does one clip a horse ? Beauty only

    • @equievolvecoaching5777
      @equievolvecoaching5777  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, as I mention in my videos to only clip as the horse's work load requires to avoid them sweating a lot and then cooling off with a thick, cold, wet coat causing a chill. It should really only be a functional thing but of course some will do for "beauty". I would not judge though as so long as the horse is happy, comfortable and has no problem with the process itself.

      angelsbecca I have a 16 year old Dutch Warmblood X, who has been on box rest for a leg fracture and has had a gradual return to work. So far this winter he hasn’t been clipped. However, now he is fit again, and working hard enough he is starting to sweat up too much, so I am going to clip him this weekend. It’s certainly not cosmetic - I actually think his dark bay coat looks beautiful without being clipped!
      I am going to clip him with a low trace and take half his face off as he really sweats under his throat. Super useful video- you can find many videos about how to hold the clippers, oil them, safety of trailing cables, but very few videos that explain where to take the lines from the anatomy of the horse!
      Also love your guide to riding different dressage tests- doing intro A on Monday!

    I don’t think you should put tape on a horse 🤔

    • @equievolvecoaching5777
      @equievolvecoaching5777  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep totally agree, that’s what I was trying to show, what a rubbish idea it is 😊

  • @ashleyw7588
    @ashleyw7588 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Duck tape? Are you frwaken serious? Duck tape,is,not good to use on a horse even if it has long hair or not you have no idea on what your doing if you use duck tape, how about you use duck tape to help you shave your legs and other hairy areas and see how you feel

    • @equievolvecoaching5777
      @equievolvecoaching5777  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry , I thought the video showed that I personally think its a bad idea ? I had seen some places advising it so wanted to show it was rubbish and unnecessary!

    • @ashleyrodriguez7141

      Lol You mean like waxing? Which is what some women do...Duct tape hurts more when it actually pulls hair out but that's also if you're ripping it off, if you gradually take it off or use oil to remove there's a lot less discomfort. It's not like she's using it to clip the horse with.
