It can be a little confusing with the "I'm nothing without this pain" and the "I'm happy with this pain" lyrics. The whole concept of the song is that as humans we find love, go through the relationship and break up at least once in our lives, but we learn from the experience and the pain from those relationships and we keep looking for love. We're nothing without that pain and experience cause that's what makes us who we are as a person. So while it can be interpreted as sad and painful because heartbreak sucks there will always be hope for something better.
For me it makes easily sense because there is not a life that has love without hatred but yeah. In another sense of loving pain is masochistic but that is something different

Hi, i know you meant well discussing the G-dragon thing. However, because of the whole kpop culture, dating may not be the same as in other countries and they are considered as huge scandal in korea. Moreover, the dating news between him and Jennie was never confirmed. It was basically a speculation and the way it was written up was all with violation of Jennie's privacy (media followed her to her home and her place of work). For those who don't know, Jennie's rap scene is not the original one that appears in M/V, but it is edited because The Health and Medical Workers' Union of Korea said the outfit "followed the typical depiction used for sexual appeal . " For this reason YG modified the scene wanting to respect the request, in my opinion, but also in the opinion of many others, the nurse uniform in that scene was not absolutely sexualized as it happened in the past in which nurse uniforms were used in some M/V of kpop but the request to delete the scene was not made! And these M/V in question still exist in the original form, and in particular in one that I have seen the nurse uniform is strongly sexualized!
They had to remove the nurse part of Jennie because of a ridiculous claim that she is sexualizing nurses. 😒😒

Just as an FYI, BLACKPINK does not label their songs as "BLACK" or "PINK". This is an entirely fan-made concept. It grew out of a comment that Jennie made on their VLIVE Countdown for AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST, which is a live show broadcast one hour before the video dropped. It had been a full year since their last release and they were very nervous to debut the song, as it was the only song released that year. Jennie was trying to describe the video without giving anything away, and she said that she was nervous about the song because "it's our first pink song." What she was trying to say is that all the songs that they had released prior were darker (STAY, PLAYING WITH FIRE) and more aggressive (BOOMBAYAH, WHISTLE), while AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST is a sweet, happy love song. BLINKS took that comment and decided to label each one, although they are off on many. AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST is still the only "Pink" song, ICE CREAM has a "cutesy" visual theme but the song is not at all innocent and LOVESICK GIRLS is sung in a happy way but it's a very sad song.
