I know the comments are full of people complaining about a mediocre performance, but it only takes a couple of people being off pitch/off beat and essentially no rehearsal time for thing to sound off. It’s clear to me that all of these women are soloists, not chorus members, and a couple of them probably were cast for their acting more than their voice, and it’s possible some of them haven’t trained their voice for some years. Collectively, they don’t sound top-notch, which is why production brought on the choir. It’s a lovely tribute. That’s all I see (and hear!)
Hate to be a wet rage, but ... there are serious pitch problems among these performers, who are probably not first-of-all singers. FYI - two stellar performances are by Shirley Bassey and Linda Eder.
There seems to be a lot of glorification for the american musical (chorus line, guys and dolls, gypsy etc.) in the west end this season...just shows the domination/ superiority of American theatre
"The American's Are Coming" lol English performers do just fine as Imelda Staunton has proven. I saw Chorus Line on Broadway in 1975 & Gypsy on Broadway, starring Bernadette Peters, in 2003. :)))))

Could I recommend Dr Patricia MacMahon to teach them. Shockingly bad.
One of the ladies was totally out of tune and the soulish singing by the black lady were the worst.
