Advances in IVF spurs debate over "mosaic" embryos

  • This month marks 40 years since the birth of the first baby conceived through IVF, Louise Joy Brown. Since then, more than eight million babies have been born using the technique. Advances in IVF testing have improved outcomes for couples with infertility. But these advances are also spurring debate over what's called mosaic embryos, those with both normal and abnormal cells. Dr. Tara Narula reports on why some fertility experts are torn over whether mosaic embryos should be implanted.

    Why play God? You get what you’re given, otherwise there a plenty of unwanted children to adopt! Just my opinion no replies needed.

      Andee P & Company this could be a reason of suicide... for some. my opinion is that doctors are giving a purpose for people, helping with their physical and mental health.

      Carlos Vega What about the children that need homes and are passed through the system?
      That sounds like a formula for depressive and abandonment disorders for the children. I've been wanting a spouse my entire life. But unfortunately, love can't be purchased commodity like children can.
