    Here's how to apply a discount code when purchasing:
    1. First, go to their website using GoCarbinox.com (that tell the company that you came over to shop from watching this video, and helps me out as I get a commission from them if you buy anything -- thanks for the support!) Oh, and in addition to me getting a commission, you get a discount as well by following the rest of these steps.
    2. Once you decide what to buy, add it to your cart (don't forget to consider an extra charger and/or screen protector for your investment).
    3. When you're done shopping, from your Cart page, clock on Check Out at the bottom.
    4. On the Check Out page, you fill in your personal information on the left, and on the right there's a box for Discount Code. Put TICKS in that box.
    5. When you tap Apply, the code will be added and you'll see an updated price appear.
    6. From this point, you can click Continue to Shipping at the bottom to finish your purchase.
    Hope this helps! Remember to check the current company code at the top line of the show notes under all the CARBINOX videos. I try and keep it updated. Sometimes they offer 10%, sometime 15%, and occasionally, like on major holidays, up to 25%. You can always use code TICKS for a 20% discount on your entire order.

    Thank you for doing such a detailed review. I just purchased my first Carbinox and i'm very excited to try it out. I'm hoping the step counter will be a bit more accurate than the fitbit I currently use. Its really frustrating when my watch suddenly vibrates indicating I hit my step goals when I'm literally sitting in an airplane.

    • @SWT
      @SWT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it was helpful! Many of the watches these days monitor the movement but don't actually start tracking 'steps' until there have been 5 to 10 of them. That way they avoid these error steps. Hey, you're not alone. My $300 FitBit Sense counts a step when I pick my nose! Go figure. Oooo, was that oversharing. Sorry.

    Good, thorough review, but it concerns me that Carbinox will does not list specs anywhere. How big is the watch? What is the water resistance? Was resistance is a deal breaker for me and if it has any real water resistance capability they would list it somewhere

    Of all.the carbinox watches I have, the Spacecrafter is the best one. I have 7 of the models available. The watch faces leave much to be desired. I can't see having a burley lumberjack wearing one and it has a flower bouquet for a watch dial. Actually that does make these watches for anyone wanting one. Even kids.

    Hi Mr Ticks.
    For the shutter function, can you see the camera's view before clicking to take a photo?

    • @SWT
      @SWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are able to see the camera's view on the phone as the phone app switches to the camera display. On the watch you see a trigger button to touch to take pictures. You can tap multiple times for multiple shots. When you swipe out on the watch, the phone returns to the tethering app. In order to actually have the camera image transmitted live to your watch so you can see it there, you would need to consider upgrading to an Android smartwatch and download a camera remote app to both your phone and watch. That's a bit more complicated, but it works with any Android smartwatch. If that's of interest, current Android smartwatches on the market that I've reviewed can be found here:

    I'm looking for a smartwatch with android and amoled screen with at least 3/64, I'm not finding it on the market, do you have any suggestions?

    • @SWT
      @SWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Michelle, sorry to tell you that the Golden days of AMOLED screened Android smartwatches came to an end when the screen size increased beyond 1.39" diameter. That was the largest round AMOLED screens for watches available, and they switched to the backlit TFT/LCD/ETC. style of screens. Even if you look for an older one (Android 5.1) on eBay or Craigslist, you'll be hard pressed to find one with that memory configuration as the AMOLED screened Android watch era preceded the expansion in memory. We also lost Bluetooth calling from Android watches around the same time, but that's another story.
      I've got a waaayyy out of date spreadsheet focusing on the Android 5.1 thru Android 6 era of Android smartwatches, each with their complete specs, posted on our Smartwatch Resource Center if you want to take a look: tinyurl.com/androidwatches

    • @SWT
      @SWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It appears Carbinox is attempting a different business model of staging stock of select smartwatches in the USA for easier and faster distribution. These are their first models and they are focusing on ruggedized build first. If this approach is successful, it would be entirely feasible that they could release a future Android smartwatch with quality build and ruggedized performance. First they need to establish enough name recognition in the market to make such an investment worthwhile. Time will tell, I guess.

    • @peterpokstefl213
      @peterpokstefl213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand, thank you for the message, I believe that the American company would keep an eye on the quality, maybe even the software updates. But I understand it's a test to see if the American customer would buy. Too bad someone doesn't make a quality, waterproof Android watch for sports, that SIM card, locating a lost phone, hiking maps in case of a major emergency, that would be great... Otherwise, you're the best at testing watches on all of TH-cam...

    You said decent waterproofing? Is it waterproof? For swimming etc. Lmk thanks

    • @SWT
      @SWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Although I'm not finding specific specs on the exact level of waterproofing for this model, the watch itself includes "Swimming" as a fitness activity, as shown here in the video: th-cam.com/video/U4u-skv54Ys/w-d-xo.html
      So I generally tell my audience that if a watch includes Swimming, then it is intended to be used for swimming and should survive swimming, therefore being waterproof. Also, when I take a careful look at the body of the SPACECRAFTER, it looks solidly sealed with no obvious places where water could easily get in. Without an actual IP67, IP68, 3ATM or 5ATM spec, I chose to call it 'decent waterproofing' in the video as an assumption on my part. Thanks for asking about this.
      Just to be clear, swimming level waterproofing doesn't include diving or use in hot water. I wouldn't recommend swimming in salt water, like the ocean, either because of the corrosive nature of salt on everything it touches. Surface swimming and an occasional dunk underwater, like washing hands, etc., should probably be OK.

    Another great review of another useless watch.
    BTW, Mr. Ticks, I hope you'll start uploading your videos in 1080p+ one fine day, because I have 27'' monitors, and 720p looks blurry on them...
    And if I can have another wish, I hope you'll get a RØDE mic on one fine day, because I also have amazing speakers, and your current mic sounds weird on them, your 's' consonants are super hissy.
    BUT keep up the great work, I always love watching your vids apart from the audio and video quality issues!

    • @SWT
      @SWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I've always wanted to be on the "big screen" ever since I was a kid. Nice to know I've made it to 27 inches! I seriously contemplated bumping up to 1080p but backed off during the time of phone 3G to 4G migration to keep the file size small for cellular streaming, especially to smartwatches. Resolution wasn't much of an issue for 1.39" screened watches. Now we face the phaseout of 3G by the carriers due to interference with 5G on the same frequency band resulting to back shifting to 2G on all our old 3G watches. I may have to dumb down videos for watches to 640x480 (old tube TV scanning resolution). Anyway, time to reevaluate again. Thanks for the suggestions.
