its not about that infimum!! use Legendre's condition..
J[u]=1, singleton set so the supremum and infimum =1. how can you say does not attain its infimum?
Since u=0 then J =1 ..and u belongs to C'[0, 1] ,in [0, 1] sup is 1 and Infimum is 0 ..
And question me ye btana h..J is attains it's Infimum (Or not) at u belongs to X={u € C'[0, 1] | u(0) =u(1) =0 } .
