Ok so, i had this impulse to play again all Mass effect, and in Andromeda, After the last battle you can talk to One Who let you listen to the quarian's ark sending a message (spec. Rynn Gee) so idk what that mean or if that mean anything
As someone who did a big ole review of the mea annihilation, I have to completely agree with your findings. I haven't heard anything about a 6th arc, and not to mention it took years to build these ships with the keliah seya practically leaving as the reaper invasion was beginning. These ships were some of if not some of the biggest ever made in the milkway galaxy and Garson went broke funding it before the benefactor stepped in, there is no way they wpuld have had the resources for a 6th one. Part of it almost feels like some sort of mistep done by bioware. And from all my notes on mea annihilation, there was not any mention of geth on the ship. If they did some how get on no one knew and in my opinion would be knew info/a retcon.
I just played through the Legendary Edition and at the end, Hackett says that the Mass Relays were "heavily damaged" and never says "destroyed." If the relays had all been destroyed completely, every home planet would have been vaporized, but we can see in the extended cut of ME3 that humanity rebuilt on Earth with a beautiful picture of London. Hackett even says that everything they lost could easily be rebuilt. And no, the Nexus was not an Ark. They were still building it when the human ark arrived.
I believe the Nexus is technically considered an ark, for the fact that it transported the Krogan along with humans, turians salarians and asrai that did not travel on the arks that were designated for their species. And if that is the case then the quarian ark would in fact be ark 6.
23:00 Geth? Hhhmmmm Ark 6 perhaps has other races on it. Those that the council didn't want to "save" but didn't want to go extinct.... Perhaps it left just after the Quarian Ark. Perhaps the "lost contact" message was about the arms and Andromeda
To build off of something I said in another video, but it would be pretty neat to see Quarian's from post-3 no longer needing their suits meeting the Quarian's from the Keelah Si'yah Ark still needing their suits. The story could easily be the old guard from the Ark wanting to keep the old ways while the ones without the suits having a new way of life and the clash that comes from it.
If that were to be the case, it would HAVE to be centuries in order for the suits to no longer be needed as their bodily systems would need to readapt to a planet's atmosphere and all of the microbes within that atmosphere; This, in turn, would take even longer because most would undoubtedly die during the process.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 I had said in the other video have it be 500 years later so multiple generations could pass so it would be the best chance for the Quarian's to adapt
@@Boigboi88 That definitely makes sense; 500 years is more than enough time for genetic structures and organs to adapt. Potentially bolstered by possible medical advancements, but not as confident on that one. However, if the popular theory of only a few years turns out to be correct, then Bioware are gonna need to pull a rabbit out of their hats to explain such a change since a few years isn't exactly enough time for bodily functions to change so drastically.
So the first thing I'll mention is how Mass/Speed/time are connected in real science. Eezo gives effective zero, or possibly negative mass. Extrapolating from that, I could see a sci-fi explanation of time being longer on the ships/Arks, while real-time for the rest of the universe being exponentially shorter (the inverse of how our own 'standard' universe works vis~a~vis mass). Secondly, "secret benefactor". One with the pockets deep enough to fund a big chunk of the entire project. Maybe deep enough to build their own Ark... you know... to ensure the right ideas were brought to Andromeda. Now, who has such deep pockets and intimate knowledge on building ridiculously cutting-edge engines? (The tease of showing us a reforged Mass Effect Relay with white and Orange paints still hurts my soul.)
This is something I have thought about some. What if Ark 6 is Cerberus? When confronted by Shepard on the Cerberus Base at the end of ME3, the Illusive Man seemed pretty positive "that the idea of Cerberus will survive". Who knows where they got the money but as you have pointed out....they seemed to have vast resources in ME3. They even went two-to two with an admittedly weakend Alliance. What if Liara's supposed quote "Don't underestimate the limits of human defiance" is actually about discovering a Cerberus Ark?
@@galaxywolf969 I mean, if Ark 6 was meant to be Cerberus, you'd think they would want to keep quiet after the events of Mass Effect 3 where they were helping the Reapers.
In the teaser poster with all the different races, it shows some who were on the quarian ark, like the hanar. Since there is an angaran we can assume it likely takes place (in part) in Andromeda, and if that is the case that means quarians should also be present. The only other explanation is the angaran has gone to the Milky Way.
I find it strange that the Nexus is never referenced as an Ark, as its original function prior to being a citadel like space station was to carry (ark) several thousand people to Andromeda before the other arks arrived... But yeah, the real question is, what is this "Ark 6" if it isn't the Quarian ark?
Hopefully they release something concrete instead of another cryptic and concept art so I can be hype for it. The endless speculation and theories is becoming a burnout.
I have a similar theory too. I'm down for that. Milkyway with a potential new nasty being brought back from Andromeda? I just pray they don't use a lazy time travel (anomaly) trope. Because that will finish me off with this series.
@@VKillershoe Imagine we get a scene back before the Reaper invasion, and our team sees a wormhole form inside their ship, and Sephiroth pops his head out and goes "Cloud! No? Sorry. Wrong multiverse."
I just remembered that before the release of Andromeda, there was a lot of textual information about the Initiative on the Mass Effect website. For example, there was a brief chronology of mankind’s cosmic achievements. Various information has since been removed from the site. Could it have been written there earlier that the Nexus is the Ark?
I did wonder if Angara sent an Ark towards the Milky Way before the Milky Way races arrived in Andromeda. Arriving somewhere in the between timeline after ME3 and MEA.
What if Ark 6 is a new Ark built in Andromeda and sent back to the Milky Way? Maybe they figured out a New Relay and have to bring its paired partner to Milky Way first.
Remember in ME1 when we see the Normandy go through a relay for the first time, Joker mentions a 1500K drift, and Nihlus says it's good? To jog your memory. In that first scene they use the Arcturus Relay to jump to the Exodus Relay, a distance of at most 8,000 lightyears. As you can see, the corridors between even relatively close relays are not perfectly stable and a ship can still exit the stream a distance from the end-relay, even with Super Pilot Extraordinaire Joker at the controls. Now imagine jumping between two relays trying their best to form a corridor across 2,500,000 lightyears to get from the Milky Way to Andromeda. Now I'm not big city lawyer, but I'm fairly certain that corridor would be more flimsy than a limp dick and the exit point could be just about anywhere. Understand. These are massless corridors of timespace. It's not like being 300x the distance would cause 300x the drift. It would increase exponentially. Remember the issue with the Omega 4 relay in ME2? Without those protocols, and jump to the galactic core would cause a drift so disparate that it could toss them right into a star. The greater the distance, the more unstable the corridor. They would have to have secondary relays all the way to Andromeda like how the Borg did it with their Transwarp Relay system in Star Trek. Or the two relays being used would have to be dozens of times larger than the already massive Mass Relays. Simply put. This theory holds no water without some serious Deus Ex Machina at play.
Couldn't Liara, as the Shadow Broker, discover the plans for the Initiative, and post Reaper war the survivors (who are also now building Mass Relays seemingly) built a new ark in order to bring them back? Or at least check on them? Maybe the Geth's Mega Telescope detected trouble
Maybe, but it requires more than funding; You also need a colossal amount of manpower, adequate facilities, and a thorough logistics network: All of that would still take years to do and doesn't really seem feasible as even the Shadow Broker can't do everything.
How's this? We do activities in the Milky Way (MW), then skip to the Andromeda Galaxy (AG) to see the results. Different outcomes are shown in the AG every time we do things differently in the MW.... Like say save a race one play through in the MW, and they make it to "Ark 6" and they are shown in the AG outcomes scenarios... And perhaps we here 'Contact lost' at the end of the MW section of the game. Only to pick up at the second half in AG to see the outcomes
I originally thought Ark 6 was the Keelah Si'yah, but I don't think it is after thinking on it more. Right now, I think it's a new Ark with who knows what on it.
First! Anyways, the whole thing with Ark 6 is kind of strange: Given that all of the Arks took off sometime during the six month gap between Mass Effect 2 and the start of Mass Effect 3, the inclusion of a 6th Ark makes things more confusing as six months ain't exactly a relaxed schedule for preparing, stockpiling, and launching a ship. (Assuming Ark 6 was launched before the events of Mass Effect 3, of course.) Plus, there's also the possibility that Ark 6 never made it out of the Milky Way before the Reapers began their invasion proper so really it's anyone's guess.
The Nexus has to be functionally an ark even though it is not referred to by number as an Ark because it has a crew. Same mess as the next Mass Effect is 5, haha. You did say they removed the audio. Maybe there was something wrong with it.
Gamble commented that the audio was removed due to copyright so I don't think it's anything more than that. But yeah it's hard to say if it's 5 or 6 and if the nexus actually is an ark. It would make sense if it was.
I can't think of anything other than there being a time travel mission in the game where our crew ends up in Andromeda for a stint. I think this is a better idea than bringing the Andromeda crew back to the Milky Way.
I theorized with paragon that the citadel if they can get the relay part working again might give the Milky Way races a quicker way to reach dark space and slingshot to andromeda. The reason being to build a connecting relay in andromeda now that the reapers are dead and we learned how to build new relays. If we can shoot to andromeda we would be able to build a bridge connecting the galaxies
27:51 i just thought about this. After the fall of Thessia shepard is speaking to Councilor Tavos and tells her Thessia Falls. She gets upset and says I must go there is continuity of species to consider. There is also a conversation where joker says he had hoped the council really believed him and was preparing just not telling shepard because of cerberus. Maybe he was correct and the council knew about the Andromeda initiative and started taking steps to follow just in case but kept it super low key.
I believe Ark 6 is a completely new Ark that they’re potentially sending through a new relay to Andromeda. If I’m not mistaken there was only 5 arks, not including the Nexus. You had the, Human, Salarian, Asari, Turian, and Quarian ark. That’s five, I believe this Ark is completely new.
If so, it would have to been launched around the time of the Reaper War assuming it wasn't built afterwards. I don't think I need to explain why that would be a bad idea.
In ME3 we learn about a race that just reached citadel space and there were petitioning for an embassy at the citadel when the reaper's arrived. They then decided to go back to their home planet and destroy any satellites and signes of space faring tech hoping the reapers would put them in the "not advanced enough "category and spare them for the next cycle. Some sort of Bird like race that also wears a suit like the Quarians , can't remember the name. It might be that they also petitioned for an Ark in case their gamble failed and the repares harvested them too ? And/or it might be an ark filled with splinter groups, some from the terminus systems, some batarian defectors, the new race I just spoke about could have joined that ark maybe ?
Another great vid, Kala. It most likely is referring to the quarian ark but I still think there's a chance it's a new one. Alek and Garson repeatedly mention that the benefactor was up to something and ark 6 could contain some answers to this. I'm also wondering if an expanded media book canon would take an president over what they want to do in the next game. The wait for answers is killing me!
I have watched a lot of the videos that have been put out seem to forget is rider mentioned that the N7's/Specters had been to the Andromeda before to set up cashes
Who are we kidding here? The sixth Ark left for Andromeda after the others departed and was filled with rich 'Cult of Shepherd' believers who wanted to leave Earth to save their own butts. Definitely the future politicians.
My opinion - it's the Quarian Ark. Whoever wrote that line for the 2020 teaser just assumed the Nexus was an Ark. Basically, they just made a mistake not realizing that the Nexus was never referred to as an Ark.
Wouldn't shock me if the first mission of ME5 is essentially what the DLC would have been. This also means Ryder will be in ME5, at least the protagonist at first and maybe for the whole game.
I think you're off by a couple of years for the Ark departures - There's a blurb in some codex that suggests they were *completely* unaware of the reaper threat before they left. It mentions no longer receiving any signals at all from home, and not understanding why. If they left after ME 1, they would at least have a reasonable speculation about why signals from the Milky Way had ceased.
Maybe Arc 6 is sent on a rescue mission to get everyone off the Quarian arc, maybe from Andromeda or Milkyway. it might be sent from the Angaran cluster to colonize more territory in another cluster. It could just be someone at Bioware used the wrong number because they didn't know the distinction between Nexus versus ARCs and the people on the Nexus has to get there somehow.
You don't need to do this format, you know; You can always just do regular replies or edit your previous reply to add this in. That aside, you're welcome.
Andromeda felt so empty without the Quarians, Batarians, Hanar, Drell, Volus, Elcor & Vorcha. I love the game but every time I play it, it feels so shallow. 😢
Potential reason for an additional ark: It was built and commissioned entirely by the private sector, separate from the Andromeda Initiative. Who's on it? Likely special intrests groups. There is a small possibility that unlnown aliens were on it. In Mass Effect, they repeatedly mention that only a small percentage of the Galaxy had been explored. Its not inconceivable that there were other aliens advanced enough to know that the Reapers were coming and what they intended to do.
Maybe, that seems plausible, but it seems like it was communicated with a central hub similar to the other arks, so I think that would make it a different sector type of situation
At the weekend I finished playing Mass Effect Legendary again. I believe that the right ending is to control the reapers, because this way they can destroy them, without compromising the geths and Edi, Sheppard can order the reapers to destroy themselves
I think you would have a ton of people wanting to head to Andromeda just for the tech found there once they make contact with the Milky Way. I would think the 6th ark would have power players and rich people along with the benefactor.
Crazy theory, what if the next game is focused on helping the initiative prepare to leave before the reapers arrive, and then skip over the trilogy, and then the geth tried to cover up the quarians stress signal then we go help them, and end up in andromeda.
I was confused when I first played Mass effect Andromeda an seen no Qurians Drell hanar Batarians Elcor volus it felt empty but I`m wondering what they`ll come up with in Mass effect 5.
Ark 6/7 asari escape from thesia from the conversation with the asari Ambassador more than likely a mix of races that would be affected by the reapers in its escape route, I look at the quarien world ships as being a escape ship, but instead of andromeda it heads for dark space, like many races in an attempt to escape harvest, that. An explain what happens in between 50,000 years ,
@andrewosborne8993 0 seconds ago I have not read the novel but it makes sense the Quarian Ark is it could be quite different to the other initiative Arks. Given the history of the migrant fleet it may actually be a bit of an ad hoc or modified vessel. Given it’s multi species but led by Quarians, something unusual for their society. Due to this I suspect it’s something a bit different to the rest on the initiative. The final/distress message in the novel seems to be from a milky way vessel. Otherwise how could they understand it. In theory a later more advanced(?) milky way vessel could have overtaken them. Possibly it was deliberately trying to reach the initiate. This would leave the door open to the incomplete recording that Ryder hears years. later. That the Quarian Ark has found away to get back to or communicate with the Milky Way. Or that they’ve had news that going back is definitely not advisable. The former would given a plot reason how and/or why the new game could perhaps run parallel stories between the two regions.
After how many problems they had with Andromeda; I have to think they want to be very sure that this game will do well, and bring back the fans that hated Andromeda so much they walked away from ME. (Like myself.) I have to think that they are going to be very careful about what they do, and how much they try to do. Indications seem to point to a timeline after Andromeda and still in the Milky Way. The game pictures showing Milky Way species and Andromeda species together suggests they are going to incorporate some way for the Andromeda species to reach the Milky Way. Assuming they don't retcon the winter story at the end of ME3 I'd think the game has to be a long time into the future after the original trilogy; yet recent enough for Liara to still be alive. Because I'm certain that the Asari shown picking up N7 armor pieces is Liara. As I've mentioned previously, I don't want to see a return of Shepard. He had his epic story, it's over, time for a new hero to rise up to save the galaxy.
Hey Kala, i noticed something i never noticed before in this trailer the other day. You know that last bit of audio where you can barely tell what's being said about anomalies all across space? After that there's a really clear nebula looking thing that also shows up behind the title card. It looks weirdly like a reaper to me. Like you can see the three "tentacles" on the right and the extended body, but it's upside down. I'm going crazy haha
@@kalaelizabeth I'm also very curious if someone can make out the shape of that invisible object in the relay teaser footage. I do not have those kinds of skills, but it looks like a large object.
Okay, I've got a theory: This should work with all ME3 endings, but synthesis or Shepard God VI would make the most sense. I think Liara knowing about the Andromeda initiative could tie into the dark energy narrative, say there's an existential risk to life using biotics still, okay well even if there is a solution found in the Milky way, they just sent that problem to a whole other Galaxy. Liara has been funding a 6th ark while trying to find a solution, maybe she finds it in the Milky Way, maybe she finds it in Andromeda. But regardless a connection between the galaxies needs to be made for this and unforseen problems to exist. Synthesis ending, they have the knowledge of mass relays and build a mass relay/ark to travel to Andromeda and link galaxies. God Shepard AI and Liara connect and despite not being 'Shepard' anymore, he recognizes that Liara wants the best for biological life and shares the mass relay tech so they build a mass relay/ark. Destroy ending is the sloppiest, but they maybe bring Harbinger somewhat online and extract mass relay tech info and build mass relay/ark. (They also find a different way to power them back up?) So, some time passes for this mass relay/ark To be built, but it is and some choice crew are there. Maybe fertile post genohpage cure, maybe quarians to bring news of rannoch, Geth because of the prospect of AI in another galaxy, etc. The ark/relay makes it to Andromeda, maybe they hit the Scourge and we find an aged Ryder finds this out, says some cheesy Marvel level dialogue like "sigh, I'm getting to old for this" but saves them and that's the intro (not saying Ryder be the main protag, but more of a reminder that Andromeda happened) I'd say give this like 30 years post ME Andromeda to help colonies establish more and get more interesting. I think Ryder could definitely have retired and become a colony leader or something with whoever they romanced. And if you did God Shepard AI you could every now and then overheard Liara speaking with the Shepard VI. But I believe this would be a great intro, and logical merge of the galaxies without some time travel BS. You'd could have whatever legacy characters you want on the 6th ark except for Liara, whom would live to through the time the ark made it to Andromeda. If you wanted Shepard to be the protag, you could still make him that in maybe perfect destroy or God Shepard AI with some consciousness upload onto a bio/synthetic organism. I could see Liara fight for that. But I do think Ryder and Shepard should not be the protag of the game.
I really enjoyed the video and it echoed similar thoughts I have had for a while. Can the Quarian Ark be the 6th or 5th? And what each possibility could mean. Personally I think it is meant to be the Quarian Ark but Bioware just made a mistake. I don't see how there can be a Ark separate from the ones we have seen. It just doesn't make sense. Nor do I think they would reveal they are making a 6th Ark in a teaser trailer that was announcing a game possibly 5 years away. I think it is just a mistake. I am sad you didn't talk about Yorrick being a Shakespeare super fan and how his death was basically Hamlets death. It was such an amazing part of the book. Also the first time your pronounced Quetsi's name was right. That is the pronunciation from the audiobook. Also you should have mentioned that Tom Taylorson who voiced male Ryder voiced the book. And he did such an excellent job. His alien voices is on par or better than the other Shepards aliens. As I said on your previous Mass Effect video I just want an Andromeda sequel. I love the setting and story but also Bioware should finish what they started. I dislike a story without a conclusion because you can't talk about the story without it just talking about "what could have been" instead what it is.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 I think it's more of a mistake on Bioware's part than the Nexus being Ark 1. Because it's clear that Bioware was talking about the Quarian Ark and not anything new. I just think it wasn't intentional.
@@Knight1029 How is it clear? I don't think that makes much sense as that still means the Nexus is considered Ark 1 so it goes back to the same argument. You're not really making sense here.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 what I am saying is that Bioware made a mistake calling it Ark 6. They either consider the Nexus to be Ark 1, which as never been stated anywhere, or they just didn't fact check it. Because I can't believe that there was a secret 6th Ark that no one knew about or wasn't talked about.
I don't think that makes much sense; If anything, it'd be smarter if the Benefactor was among the Nexus staff as then he's among the higher-ups and therefore can do whatever he wants behind the scenes while closely monitoring things.
What if this was an ark that was built in secret by the benefactor and only revealed right as war broke out? It could even have been a geth ark which would be crazy. It could also have been created by Cerberus prior to the demise of the illusive man. Wouldn't it be crazy if the illusive man was the benefactor?
According to Bioware, the Illusive Man is NOT the Benefactor. Also, an Ark for the Geth when they were currently in a war with the Quarian Fleets wouldn't be smart.
@@deltathepsycho Then when did the 6th launch? There's only about six months in between the ending of Mass Effect 2 and the start of Mass Effect 3, and we know the Quarian Ark didn't take off until just before the Reaper War began, meaning it was probably less than a week or so before the Reapers fully invaded. I don't know about you, but that seems like a poor window of time to launch a giant ship designed to transport thousands of people.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 as I stated, it could've been built in secret. It's not unlikely that it was launched at the same time or very near to the Quarian Ark. As I said, pure speculation. No one except the devs know what is really going on.
What if Ark 6 is the quarian ark and they only just left the galaxy to get to Andromeda and while on their way there(only 3 or 4 years passed after they left the galaxy) they made first contact with a new threat and they were forced to go back to Milky Way(there could be some destruction and many would actually get killed in the first contact with this new threat). Maybe thats why the quarian ark didnt get to Andromeda...because they made this first contact with the new threat while on their way to the new galaxy?
Not sure if anyone said tjis in the comments yet but it could be the benefactor. Assuming he would have been the big bad of the sequel it makes sense. That arc is fully under his control full with 100000 of his people. Strategically set to arrive after the other arcs have already "settled" so he can take control easier........food for thought
May be. But Liara is not a Benefactor. Benefactor began sponsoring the Initiative before the events of ME1. Liara didn't know about the Reapers until ME1. And she only got gigantic funds in ME2
If i remember right the quarian ark left a message in the after end gameplay so it was in andromeda.. i think. That aside, there a quite a few things i need closure from andromeda. Where is ark 6, of course, but who is the benefactor, who killed the initiative leadership (and for that they needed to be woken up before everyone else, so how/why did they do that?) and why did they turn some of the colonists into mentally deranged individuals? Just for the fun of it? Chaos? You fly 600+ years and have no idea what it's gonna be like over there and yet you say:"Let's drug those asswipes, because why not." So many plotholes....
Not necessarily. In some cultures and languages, there's at least a few examples of words that either sound or are spelled similarly between all of them. Alternatively, it's possible that Shepard's antics during the trilogy inspired some races to interact more with humans, trading phrases, languages, and ideologies between them. That aside, no, Ark 6 is probably not the Quarian Ark.
Technically, all the species speak their own languages. But they are translated into English, Spanish, French, Chinese etc. (whatever language you are playing as) for the player.
In the comic book Mass Effect: Discovery, it is said that the Geth built a super telescope to observe various objects outside the Milky Way. That is, they were interested in something outside the Milky Way. They could very well build a ship to send beyond the Milky Way. By the way, this is how the Geth can survive the Red Ending. They may be outside the Milky Way when the Crucible is fired
I've been avoiding ME Andromeda ever since and I'm a huge ME fan with 3 full trilogy playthroughs. What's everyone's advice? Is it worth playing afterall?
Well, it depends; Andromeda's situation is a bit more complicated than the rest of the series as there's some stuff to like and other stuff that is either unfinished or disappointing at best. (Mechanically, narratively, and creatively.) Even without all of the bugs and other technical issues, the game in general is hardly impressive with a story that goes absolutely nowhere and characters that are somewhat lukewarm at times while they're relatively good at other times.
Honestly, it's got problems but it's really not that bad... People over hated on that game, most of which never actually played it and jumped on the bandwagon... It has some really good stuff in there and it seems like it will be essential to play (like the trilogy) before the next game comes out... It's so cheap to buy now (especially on physical disc)... Give it a try, you might actually like it.
@@SpectreSaunders. It's not bad per se, but you can't exactly blame people for shitting on it when the developers had been fucking around with procedural generation for five years only for the game to end up horrifically buggy and full of technical problems for full price plus the developers acting like complete babies blaming Breath of the Wild for the game's failure.
I never bought the idea that the nexus is one of the arks. The terminology doesn't work right and it was never referred to as one afaik in any media. Then with the trailer audio based on human history events why would a quarian ark be part of it? I have to disagree with the summary made around the 7 minute mark. The quarian ark just isn't a big enough plot point or story to be in a trailer like this. The main storyline of Andromeda never got an ending which seems significantly more important.
would out of the range of the Synthesis ending to be converted is what I meant but of course, they would but affected in the Cryopods or destroyed in the destroy ending ? IS that worded better? sorry the quarians?
@@short72hp1 No, it's not worded better; I can't understand a lick of what you're saying. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were high on something.
Although I agree with this entire video, the bit about having no reason for a 6th Arc because "All the races recognised by the Council have already got one" dosent work. The Initiative wasnt a Council run thing, it was a private backed gig. Meaning Any race as long as they can provide and aid would be able to go and therfore given an Arc too. Basically being in, on or recognised by the Council wouldnt matter, the ability to aid the Initative would
What I mean is there was no other recognized races at this time. The council races are actually asai turian salarian and humans, but the krogan quarians etc are still recognized but not represented. There were no additional races that weren't included because all that were known about were included.
@@kalaelizabeth Fair play. I do have a question though, not related to this but the novel. Did the VI grandma join/Merge with that Arcs SAM? Or dosent it have a SAM/pathfinder?
No, it merged with the ship itself. And the keelah siyah had 3 pathfinder representing the 6 races and they did have SAMs but they were in their suits. Their SAMs couldn't become AI like Ryders did though.
Oh I'm so sorry, it's okay though. I just wasn't sure if you mean that the arks would be affected by the endings choices? They would still be in the milky way galaxy? I assume so anyways. I think this only would be relevant if geth were on board though. Since SAM wasn't affected. But this is a good question.
thanks for you understanding this only happens occasionally just embarrassing I have been talking to you for years first time but it is hard to mess up great vid 😀
involving anything from andromeda would be a mistake pr wise and they wont sell as much if people know they still tryin to cut soemthing from andromeda in there
At this point it doesn't matter, Andromeda is being included, as per the teasers and comments from Gamble himself. Andromeda will be involved in some capacity even if it's a small one.
Wow. I never read the Andromeda books. I need to. You know the Quarians and the Asari started to darkerside in ME3. We possibly need a new arc. Maybe we get a Batarian/ Geth redemption and a Quarian and Asari "fall." There were a lot of details in both their histories that Quarians and Asari leaders had hidden that came to light in ME3...? Maybe like you brought up a new race for the new game? A support arc? 1 Filled with plant seeds and other items from the Milky Way? Ahhh, the fun of speculation!
@kalaelizabeth No tears Kala, the speculation, the friendly debate, and banter is fun. 2027 seems like a lot of time, but it Hopefully it will be worth the wait. Great job as always! I'm going to order the Andromeda book!
Ark 6 could be an Andromeda made ark, and the bar seen in previews could be on that ark. With Liara and her geth bodyguard being the first from the Milky Way to visit. Just another spitball thrown against the Mass Effect wall
Ark 6 is definitely not the quarian ark. Ark 6 is something new, probably not launching in 2185, but also it could be some trialed magic trickery. We heard it alongside Milky Way stuff, but ark 6 could also be an ark that is fast traveling through the first intergalactic relay to bring Angara to the MW or something like that.
Too bad they don’t just go back to andromeda and finish it, I mean content was planned out and written. Technology has improved and fans have fixed the base game for them so why not? Also I’m not referring to the fake leaked stuff.
You didn’t miss anything. There were no geth on the ark nor was it ever alluded to. The ark left long before shepard unites the geth and quarians and there would be no way the quarians would allow geth on their ark.
The quarian ark is one of the few things from andromeda i need closure on
Ok so, i had this impulse to play again all Mass effect, and in Andromeda, After the last battle you can talk to One Who let you listen to the quarian's ark sending a message (spec. Rynn Gee) so idk what that mean or if that mean anything
This actually made me sad we didn't get Andromeda dlc
Same it could have been so good 😭
As someone who did a big ole review of the mea annihilation, I have to completely agree with your findings.
Even though it's not labeled as an Ark anywhere in Andromeda.
23:00
Geth?
It'd be also interesting to see an interaction between post-synthesis MW species and the original ones in Andromeda.
@@dorottyapapp Assuming Synthesis is canon, of course; It's basically a "get out of jail free card" ending if you ask me.
You don’t know that. They could also be in the Milky Way since we don’t know where the Angara (and Jardaan) really came from.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Bioware gotta confirm at least 1 thing for my peace of mind
Fingers crossed that this n7 day gives us some solid info !
@@kalaelizabeth it's more stressful than the lead up to Andromeda they've added so many more questions and half answered I've been losing marbles
The Tempest was such a great follow up of the Normandy
I find it strange that the Nexus is never referenced as an Ark, as its original function prior to being a citadel like space station was to carry (ark) several thousand people to Andromeda before the other arks arrived... But yeah, the real question is, what is this "Ark 6" if it isn't the Quarian ark?
Nobody knows.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 ...Yet
Yep it's weird. And I can't find evidence of it being referred to as a flagship Ark either.
Hopefully they release something concrete instead of another cryptic and concept art so I can be hype for it. The endless speculation and theories is becoming a burnout.
Perhaps the 6th ark will come back - maybe heavily damaged - to Milky Way by some kind of emergency auto pilot hiding a big secret ?
Would have to be an absolute beast of an auto pilot for that to happen; At that point, even Joker is blushing with envy.
That's giving me some serious "Event Horizon" vibes right there. Stop it!
@@leegaul2161 Now it gets whacky 🤪
I just remembered that before the release of Andromeda, there was a lot of textual information about the Initiative on the Mass Effect website.
For example, there was a brief chronology of mankind’s cosmic achievements.
Various information has since been removed from the site.
Could it have been written there earlier that the Nexus is the Ark?
If Shep goes to Andromeda I think people will embrace both ME Andromeda and ME5
I did wonder if Angara sent an Ark towards the Milky Way before the Milky Way races arrived in Andromeda. Arriving somewhere in the between timeline after ME3 and MEA.
What if Ark 6 is a new Ark built in Andromeda and sent back to the Milky Way?
Maybe they figured out a New Relay and have to bring its paired partner to Milky Way first.
While I do think that'd be an interesting scenario, we don't know.
Don't forget about the audio timeline in the teaser.
In the teaser, Ark 6 flew away before ME3
@@leegaul2161 That's a wall of text.
@@SeverusHunt Granted it could be another case of throwing the audience off, which companies like Bioware have been known to do for better or worse.
The name of the quarian ark makes me laugh every time: Kee'lah SEE YA
A bit late to start doing that when the Arks have already taken off; Plus, that seems REAL convenient for the plot.
I was so ready to continue Andromeda. Beautiful worlds and great gameplay. I want Shep and Liara to settle in one of those cabins in the toxic planet
Maybe the new Mass Relay is build for a rescue mission to Ark 6? Or maybe something related to it?
I believe Ark 6 is a completely new Ark that they’re potentially sending through a new relay to Andromeda. If I’m not mistaken there was only 5 arks, not including the Nexus. You had the, Human, Salarian, Asari, Turian, and Quarian ark. That’s five, I believe this Ark is completely new.
If so, it would have to been launched around the time of the Reaper War assuming it wasn't built afterwards. I don't think I need to explain why that would be a bad idea.
I love how your character and the comms tech are basically the same person, except with orange hair.
Stop you're right 😭
In ME3 we learn about a race that just reached citadel space and there were petitioning for an embassy at the citadel when the reaper's arrived.
I was just talking about this in a previous video you posted, Kala! Super hyped now! \o/
Amazing as always!
Next N7 day is going to be such a long wait!
only 269 days!
Maybe Arc 6 is sent on a rescue mission to get everyone off the Quarian arc, maybe from Andromeda or Milkyway. it might be sent from the Angaran cluster to colonize more territory in another cluster.
It could just be someone at Bioware used the wrong number because they didn't know the distinction between Nexus versus ARCs and the people on the Nexus has to get there somehow.
no prob Dragonborn Express just wish it would be high 😀 ty for both you being patient
AI Shepard-Catalyst made it clear in his speech that he would use the Reapers to protect the Galaxy
I think you would have a ton of people wanting to head to Andromeda just for the tech found there once they make contact with the Milky Way. I would think the 6th ark would have power players and rich people along with the benefactor.
But how long would it take for said contact to be established?
Crazy theory, what if the next game is focused on helping the initiative prepare to leave before the reapers arrive, and then skip over the trilogy, and then the geth tried to cover up the quarians stress signal then we go help them, and end up in andromeda.
@15:13 have we ever met a hanar thay didnt exhibit weird and creepy behavior?
I was confused when I first played Mass effect Andromeda an seen no Qurians Drell hanar Batarians Elcor volus it felt empty but I`m wondering what they`ll come up with in Mass effect 5.
Ark 6/7 asari escape from thesia from the conversation with the asari Ambassador more than likely a mix of races that would be affected by the reapers in its escape route, I look at the quarien world ships as being a escape ship, but instead of andromeda it heads for dark space, like many races in an attempt to escape harvest, that. An explain what happens in between 50,000 years ,
Finding and rescuing the Quarian Ark should be the first thing done in the narrative for a new Andromeda game or game that includes Andromeda
Of course it's the quarian ark. ME 5 won't abandon Andromeda. Can't wait for the Ryder's to return. Excited😅

I have not read the novel but it makes sense the Quarian Ark is it could be quite different to the other initiative Arks.
The 6th Ark doesn't have another species. it's carrying an improved mass relay to andromeda that will link both galaxies.
Yeah I've actually been trying to see if I can found out which nebula this is especially because last year's teaser said post nebula !
@@kalaelizabeth I'm also very curious if someone can make out the shape of that invisible object in the relay teaser footage. I do not have those kinds of skills, but it looks like a large object.
great video
Okay, I've got a theory:
This should work with all ME3 endings, but synthesis or Shepard God VI would make the most sense.
(They also find a different way to power them back up?)
So, some time passes for this mass relay/ark To be built, but it is and some choice crew are there.
Geth are software, not hardware. They could have uploaded themselves into the systems before take off. But were they Geth like Legion or heretics?
If it's meant to be the Quarian Ark, then that would make the Nexus Ark 1 even though it's not defined as an Ark in Andromeda.
Also, the Nexus only had connection points for 5 Arks
Maybe the benefactor as one of his stipulations demanded he get his own arch that he could use for his own purpose?
I don't think that makes much sense; If anything, it'd be smarter if the Benefactor was among the Nexus staff as then he's among the higher-ups and therefore can do whatever he wants behind the scenes while closely monitoring things.
I would love some closure on Andromeda and maybe even continue the game, but not as the next game and not with the same characters.
I think if they do anything about the quarian ark or 6th ark it'll be DLC for Mass effect Andromeda or a sequel to Mass effect Andromeda.
I really hope time travel doesn't enter the mass effect universe, adds a whole lot of problems in most settings

What if this was an ark that was built in secret by the benefactor and only revealed right as war broke out? It could even have been a geth ark which would be crazy. It could also have been created by Cerberus prior to the demise of the illusive man. Wouldn't it be crazy if the illusive man was the benefactor?
Pure speculation of course, but I personally believe it to be an ark we haven't been made aware of yet
According to Bioware, the Illusive Man is NOT the Benefactor. Also, an Ark for the Geth when they were currently in a war with the Quarian Fleets wouldn't be smart.
@@deltathepsycho Then when did the 6th launch?
I think it's gonna be the benefactor and it's gonna link to Liara somehow
May be.
But Liara is not a Benefactor.
Benefactor began sponsoring the Initiative before the events of ME1.
Liara didn't know about the Reapers until ME1. And she only got gigantic funds in ME2
Ark 6 is the bridge between galaxies i bet
No confirmation yet.
I love your voice Kala 😍
Thank you 🥹
I like the idea. But Isn't godspeed a human only phrase? If it was the quarian ark wouldn't the goodbye be a quarian phrase?
Not necessarily. In some cultures and languages, there's at least a few examples of words that either sound or are spelled similarly between all of them. Alternatively, it's possible that Shepard's antics during the trilogy inspired some races to interact more with humans, trading phrases, languages, and ideologies between them. That aside, no, Ark 6 is probably not the Quarian Ark.
Technically, all the species speak their own languages. But they are translated into English, Spanish, French, Chinese etc. (whatever language you are playing as) for the player.
I mean sure but people still say God bless you to people who aren't religious. Don't think it has to be only said to humans
The 6th Ark is just the one that will be made in the next game. It will be tied to how they will intertwine the Milky Way and Andromeda somehow.
Don't forget about the audio timeline in the teaser.
In the teaser, Ark 6 flew away before ME3
What if, IF, there was a Geth Ark that the Geth made secretly, while Initiative was unaware? It could have been tailing the Quarian Ark…?
In the comic book Mass Effect: Discovery, it is said that the Geth built a super telescope to observe various objects outside the Milky Way.
That is, they were interested in something outside the Milky Way.
They could very well build a ship to send beyond the Milky Way.
By the way, this is how the Geth can survive the Red Ending.
They may be outside the Milky Way when the Crucible is fired
Maybe but they'd have to communicate with humans to leave as we can hear the audio so I think it's unlikely
What if Ark 6 is carrying the benefactor and his team/supporters.
fingers crossed the next one is an mmo style game to rival eso.
I've been avoiding ME Andromeda ever since and I'm a huge ME fan with 3 full trilogy playthroughs. What's everyone's advice? Is it worth playing afterall?
Yes and it always has been.
Yes play it. It'll be connected to ME5!
What about ark 5?
I never bought the idea that the nexus is one of the arks. The terminology doesn't work right and it was never referred to as one afaik in any media. Then with the trailer audio based on human history events why would a quarian ark be part of it? I have to disagree with the summary made around the 7 minute mark. The quarian ark just isn't a big enough plot point or story to be in a trailer like this. The main storyline of Andromeda never got an ending which seems significantly more important.
would not the ark be exempt from the Synthesis ending ?
also from the destroy ending?
I don't know what you mean ?
Not sure what you mean.
would out of the range of the Synthesis ending to be converted is what I meant but of course, they would but affected in the Cryopods or destroyed in the destroy ending ? IS that worded better? sorry the quarians?
@@short72hp1 No, it's not worded better; I can't understand a lick of what you're saying. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were high on something.
quarian the angara 1 same yup
It’s a Geth Arc.
So the asari Ark that I just investigated and the turian and the Quarien Arks are the only Arks in Andromeda
What about the Salarian Ark? And Human Ark?
Geth?
Kala sorry about the unclear question I have had a stroke that sometimes can cause cognitive issues in forming sentence sorry
That explains things; Hope you're okay.
thanks for you understanding this only happens occasionally just embarrassing I have been talking to you for years first time but it is hard to mess up great vid 😀
when all I say is great vid 😀💯👍
@@short72hp1 Yeah, that's understandable.
involving anything from andromeda would be a mistake pr wise and they wont sell as much if people know they still tryin to cut soemthing from andromeda in there
At this point it doesn't matter, Andromeda is being included, as per the teasers and comments from Gamble himself. Andromeda will be involved in some capacity even if it's a small one.
We didn't find out because Bioware was mad. Lol
I wouldn't release any DLC either if my game was constantly trashed and spat on.
So many possibilities I wanna know more 😭
@kalaelizabeth No tears Kala, the speculation, the friendly debate, and banter is fun. 2027 seems like a lot of time, but it Hopefully it will be worth the wait.
Great job as always! I'm going to order the Andromeda book!
Wake up babe it's time to watch another Kala video
Enjoy 🫡🫡🫡
Ark 6 could be an Andromeda made ark, and the bar seen in previews could be on that ark. With Liara and her geth bodyguard being the first from the Milky Way to visit.
Just another spitball thrown against the Mass Effect wall

A secret second human Ark...
I'm not sure why there would need to be a second human Ark when Hyperion was doing just fine; Seems a little unnecessary AND a waste of money.
It's the El core ark it's still on its way lol
Ark 6 is definitely not the quarian ark. Ark 6 is something new, probably not launching in 2185, but also it could be some trialed magic trickery.
We heard it alongside Milky Way stuff, but ark 6 could also be an ark that is fast traveling through the first intergalactic relay to bring Angara to the MW or something like that.

Too bad they don’t just go back to andromeda and finish it, I mean content was planned out and written. Technology has improved and fans have fixed the base game for them so why not?
Also I’m not referring to the fake leaked stuff.
🎉
You didn’t miss anything. There were no geth on the ark nor was it ever alluded to.
The ark left long before shepard unites the geth and quarians and there would be no way the quarians would allow geth on their ark.
