- In the space of just a few years, Chechnya has undergone a remarkable transformation. Gone are the minefields and piles of rubble, replaced with broad avenues, luxury boutiques and glass-fronted skyscrapers. It’s virtually impossible to see there was ever a war.
Award-winning journalist, Manon Loizeau, spent the past 20 years covering the Chechen conflict. She returns to the places she knew so well, filming undercover in Chechnya, to reveal how Putin has ‘pacified’ this once proud land.
Behind the gleaming facade of the new Grozny, Loizeau discovered women and men more terrified than in all the years of war and occupation. A fifth of the population vanished during the war but anyone who tries to remember is eliminated. Chechnya has become a true police state which removes, tortures and kills those who do not submit to the Kremlin’s new order. A journey into the realm of oblivion and terror.
This documentary was produced by Magneto and directed by MANON LOIZEAU. It was first released in 2015.

Education is free, hospitals are free for citizens, From ashes to sky scrappers within 20 years is really what we should appreciate there are some nations which got independent or were created 50-80 years ago and still they ain't developed as chechnya

The People in the west don't understand the situation , chechnya has like a population of 2 Million compared to Russia over 140 Million , the Russians have air superiority , masses of weapons and troops , they have financial power just everything , if they start a new war it could be the end of chechens , they literally have no chance , the Soviet union collapsed and they were disorganized , the russians underestimated the chechens and lost , they won the second war by targeting civilians , it was a war of terror against civilians , they shot at everything moving , they also mass raped the women to break their spirit .
the situation is the same as walking on top of glass, it hurts like hell but you can't do anything about it, and god forbid if you fell over, the result is getting hurt by glass again, this is the situation and Chechens can't do anything about it other than disappearing or facing terrible consequences.

Do you know that Stalin deported all the Chechyans in 1944?. A quarter of them died Those that were to weak were shot by the Russians. The excuse that Stalin used was terrorism... the same excuse as Putin and his puppet Kadyrov uses.
