I am from South Europe where perhaps the craziest atmosphere, and I can say that I am surprised by the Austin fans. I wouldn’t have known it was in America if I hadn’t read the name of the club. Respect
Where do fans for these new clubs come from? I have supported Arsenal all my life because i'm from North London and my family all support Arsenal and always have done. Do these fans just decide to support these new clubs? Genuine question for any American/Canadian MLS fans.
Austin has been fighting to get an MLS team for years. It’s now the first (major) professional sports team in the city. People love Austin and Austin loves soccer/football. Most will like the club due to proximity but many will like this club because of the culture, it’s uniqueness. As we like to say “Keep Austin Weird”.
It honestly depends on the city. Some cities do have minor league Teams that people support, and these teams lately have been pushing hard to be accepted in the MLS and taken them more seriously. So the fan base is still there and depending where you live or other cities or towns around you word of mouth makes it more easy for teams for having these fans. Also it’s been almost 25 years the MLS (even though it still has issues) it’s becoming more popular and more cities want to be able to have teams representing their cities. You bet your ass people are going to be happy about that …I was honestly and surprised when Inter Miami FC became a team and they already had like 2 supporter groups and I ask myself the same question…where exactly did they come from?
It's our first major league team, and when it was announced I got on the season ticket waitlist immediately. Roughly 2 years after that email, I was at this game and totally blown away by the fandom. Our first 2 showings at the new stadium have been 0-0 draws, but hopefully we can put some goals in on Thursday! LISTOS!
@@hereholdmybeer12 ….that’s awesome to hear ….give it time ….Just like FC Cincinnati your fan base is really amazing 🤩 I love it and as a NYCFC honestly I can’t wait to one day visit Austin and see a game over there even if my team is not playing I honestly just want to experience the atmosphere.
It’s great to see the MLS grow every year ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
