Farming on that scale must have been hard work, but a much better life than being a computer slave in a mad modern office. And in a beautiful environment, of which Britain has lost so many.
Idyllic time for the children - something they will never forget - Perhaps still even around today as grandparents -sweet memories for one and all - factory farms though mostly pertain today -sadly - .
What times they lived in out there must have been fresh and clean
If only children and adults could still experience that kind of lifestyle.
A great nostalgic look at a small mixed family farm, which through intensification and and modern economics have all but disappeared. Yet they played an important role in agricultural development allowing first time farmers a foot on the ladder from which they could progress a career on.

What was it they were feeding the cattle? It sounded like "mangoes" but it can't be that.
I had to look it up, too: they're mangolds, which go by many names, but the Wikipedia page is "mangelwurzel".
