Shit. I finally see someone reviewing this. I grew up in the 80s as a Puertorican kid, eating at a John's that was at 181 and Broadway. This is really the best. It has this subtle tangy flavor (vinegar?). And the aftertaste is off the chain.
If this is the same John’s fried chicken that was on 183rd and St. Nicholas when I was growing up then bro I envy you rn…my mom would come home from work and bring me either this or pizza from the corner pizza shop. I miss John’s fried chicken fr. Haven’t had it for like 15+ years

White rice, at least PR style, is not very seasoned. It's mostly a little corn oil and salt. Im not experienced with Dominican rice and beans but id try it.
