Surprising 1930’s Palace in China : Ming Dynasty and Western Influence in Meiling Palace Nanjing

Meiling Palace is China's first Villa and also known to be the first Villa built in the far east / Asia. The villa is in the heart of the Ming Tombs scenic park beside the purple mountain in Nanjing China. Meiling Palace is an architectural treat with the exterior design mostly influenced by the surrounding Ming Dynasty ancient Chinese architecture and the interior inspired by 1930's Western influences.
The Villa was reportedly built for Song Meiling, once known as the most powerful women in the world, a politician, artist and English translator that became China's First Lady. This is a fascinating palace / villa and the interior design and furniture reminds me a lot of country houses and royal houses I've visited in the United Kingdom.
