  • NDTV Classics: If Nepal's royal family is to be believed, 30-year-old Dipendra, the then crown prince, had in one cruel stroke eliminated the king, the queen, his younger brother and at least seven other members of his own family. Everyone who knew Dipendra said he was a gentleman and a modernist; a man who wanted to make the monarchy and the palace more progressive; a man who was always smiling. How could he have suddenly turned into a trigger happy monster? On Reality Bites, Barkha Dutt captures the mood in Nepal, a country shocked, shaken and in turmoil in the wake of the royal massacre.

@@ameekgurung5889 Civilians aren't corrupted but they are dumb. They keep on tolerating these type of filthy corruptions. Just insulting them and showing anger won't help, those corrupted politicians don't give two fucks about the country they were born in, let alone care about their people. It's stupidity to keep on electing same people just to suffer and screw the country up. People have more power than the so called politicians, they are just not aware of it so unless, Nepali people won't realize this and try to bring changes, the country will keep on suffering because, it's not only a single person, or a single party that is corrupted, but every parties and every members are equally corrupted. One corrupted minister leaves, another corrupt will take the position, one corrupted party leaves the government, another corrupted one will take over. No wonder why Nepal's politics is brutally fucked because there is no party that is there for the country and people but money. Now, it's up to people to bring changes, but that's equally hard too, considering not all people are well educated about the political state of the country and what's going on. Just a small hordes of people protesting against the government will have no effects either. So the country will most likely suffer for many more decades.

And what about those (even just one person) who escaped that horrific day and witnessed it all with their own eyes and lived to tell what they saw. Yeah ok right it wasn't the Prince 🤔 Whatever! It's all beyond sad and so very tragic what happened that day but more so that many if not most of the people of Nepal still think it's India's fault behind it all or better yet just too many Napalese conspiracy theorists. Nepal has truly had a hard time accepting the facts for what they are nothing more or less. The Prince was mentally unstable and with the situation as it was with the woman he loved and wanted to marry not being accepted by his own mother only made things extremely worse to say the least. Bottom line: this beloved young Prince was a ticking time bomb. It was just a matter of time until something like this would happen but the sad thing is no one in the family wanted to do anything about it (him) and this is the end result. Accept it and move on people.

I am a Nepali and it is very possible that Indian government planned the conspiracy to kill our beloved late king birendra BUT we shouldn't hate Indian 'people' for this because they are as innocent and clueless as we Nepalese are regarding royal massacre. Even If their government has done this disgusting work still we cannot blame all the citizens of India.

It happened in 2001, now is 2019. No one from Nepal has ever questioned the credibility of the tragic murders of the Royal Family. Nepal just swallowed in that it was the Prince who did it. Moreover Nepal havent even compared the condition of the country before and after the Royal Family Reign. They just ignore all that happened and whats happening now after the tragic massacre. This incident will just be gone from the memories of Nepal as many has forgotten even. The sad thing about this is that History wont remember their great doings towards the country but will just remember that A Royal Family Member killed other Royal Family Members for Power and this will just give a Bad Impression of the Royal Blood itself. Sad but True.

Rashmi Bhattarai let me tell you why was it a heyday. You had good relations with India because public opinion didn't matter much during monarchy. Everybody was equal in ways nobody mattered to king.
Let me tell you when was it all a problem. Everything was hunky dory till monarchy with india. After the communist govt took over it drew borders of newly formed states in such a way that madhesis(perceived to be Indian influx rather than Nepalese) would be deprived of political representation.
This would mean decreasing clout of india in political affairs of Nepal
So who is the next guy around. Don't waste time it is Dragon and its communist agenda.
Let me elaborate it further, the problem is not india and its alleged intervention the problem is your sick mentality of suppressing madhesis. And you see madhesis gaining power tantamount to indian intervention in your county. This is why anti India sentiments are burgeoning and commies are sweeping over
That's sheer xenophobia and nothing less. Guess now you have an idea what's happening in your country. A part of it is for you too anu kuikel.
