We start training basic foundation skills at 8 weeks of age. I do just a few short sessions each day. Each skill trained and mastered I incorporate into their daily routine for working with them throughout the day. Things they are just learning I keep it simple with just one to two short sessions followed by things they know. Certain tricks take longer than others. Some start out as a basic foundation skill and then you build upon that.
What a clever boy! Great job training him. I love to see a Boerboel that is asked to think and work - they are such intelligent, versatile dogs! Kudos to you and Boss!
Mrs Thomas Good morning! We did a very basic obedience class with him when he was 10 weeks old. After that all training was done by myself. For his tricks training I joined a group on Facebook that has videos on working various tricks to get titles! Lots of training and consistency. We just now have his son and am doing videos from the very beginning that I am posting on this channel.
Boerboels are like clay. Spend time focus in inflection in your voice and spend time. Lots of time with the dog. Dosnt even have to be training time. Our Boerboel came at 8 weeks and a day. Within first 2 weeks she was crate trained. Responded 3 hand signals with no verbal cue. Learned commands in Russian. Also she has a bell. from 9 weeks old if she wants to go out she rings her bell. Love this breed above all others.

Can you point me in the direction of a breeder? They are so hard to find. We lost our mastiff of 11yrs,,,, during Christmas, 3 years ago. My hubby and I have been looking at this breed. Got to say, out of all the websites, and puppy photos, that I've looked at, yours is one of the most handsome, and what great disposition. Thank you.

As far as recommendations for quality breeders make sure to do your research and look into health testing certifications and temperaments. There are definitely some good breeders out there and a lot who are not in it for the betterment and preservation of the breed. Gladiatormastiffs.com just a small family, on a ranch, where the doggies get to roam. We went with this different mixture of bread. We are so excited. We'll be stopping by to meet up with the parents, before the puppies are born. I feel really good about it 😊

She barks in case of noise in the condo (alien). If we meet other people, then she can behave very aggressively (she knows everyone’s neighbors) My dog has pronounced qualities of a boerboel
Kirtida Gopika clarifying my response that this “voice” command was not captured during a time of him “alerting” that is not something I would add on too. We have a structure, boundaries and expectations set in place with both of our boys who are 3 1/2 and 1 year old and no grey areas. There is zero allowance for any undesired behaviors and they are extremely obedient. Our boys rarely bark “ alert “ unless necessary.
