Hello Everyone,
Today we have even more Mardi Gras Goodness for this Carnival Season. We are presenting to you the Legion of Mars parade, a parade that is dedicated to our Military and our first responders! This parade has become one of our faves, instantly, because We come from families that served on all fronts. From Military to Police, our families have had members that have done it all! So with that said, we would like to thank the men and women who sacrifice EVERYTHING for our freedom and who keep us safe in the Homeland! We are so proud to bring this parade to you and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
We would also like to thank The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus for inviting us to their watch party! Amazing location and even more Amazing PEOPLE! We Truly love you guys! We would also like to thank the KREWE OF LEGION OF MARS putting on an amazing, totally free, spectacle! Thank you for killing it every single parade and every single day!

America on Parade at Mardi Gras!
The U.S. Marine Corps Band leads our parade down St. Charles Avenue. We celebrate with the best High School Bands and ROTC units in the region, riders on horseback, current and antique military vehicles, numerous celebrity guests, AND even airborne military flyovers!!
More than just a Carnival Krewe:
Mars Members also enjoy brotherhood and comradery celebrating service and love of country at our Annual Parade Ball, Veterans Day Golf Tournament, Annual Member BBQ, Memorial Day Flag Laying, Volunteering at the VA, and supporting numerous other worthy Veterans organizations in the region by joining their efforts and lending a helping hand.

The Legion of Mars is the only Mardi Gras Parade with a membership comprised of Active Duty and Veteran Military and First Responders, and Patriotic Civilian friends and supporters, and presents a “Parade of Patriots,” riding on themed floats saluting each branch of the Armed Forces, plus local police and fire departments and other first responders
History in the Making:
Legion of Mars officially became New Orleans’ newest chartered Mardi Gras Parade in 2023, making its maiden voyage as an independent Carnival Organization that same year, but we have been parading 11 years! Mars was founded in 2013 by a group of combat veterans wanting to honor past and present Military and First Responders in a way truly unique to New Orleans.
Each year nearly half of Mars’ riders will enjoy their voyage down the Avenue courtesy of the Legion of Mars’ philanthropy, funded by its members and numerous local individuals and business donors. Included in that number is an extraordinary group of Wounded Combat Veterans, who will ride on Mars’ signature Purple Heart Salute float.
