It's 8 in the morning, a very cold morning in the western part of the world with the sun still under the shroud of mist and fog. Then I see this video. Sir, to say that I am mesmerized by just the warmth of the audio would be an understatement. The visualization is actually on point and captures me sentimentally with respect to the on screen emotions. The tribute is well beyond the expectations for a true R.D. Burman fan. Sir, please keep making more of such videos. I am already captivated by the content on your channel.
Justice done to Pancham & Kavita Krishnamurthy. Kavita Krishnamurthy has sung in various languages & has rendered difficult songs. I have seen my sister, niece, cousins, girl friends dance wearing "ghungroo" but never heard it plays in "Saptsur" (seven notes)! I am amazed! You are right. This composition of sad version is much more efficetive & different from the sad version kept in the film which absolutely similar composion to happy version but sung very emotionally by great Lataji.
Lataji version was never in the original composition... he never got her to record...it was entirely the work of HMV or the producers to juxtapose Lataji's version...but the fact remains if he wanted Lataji for sad version why did not record with her in first place....the Kavita version looks far more like his vision....albeit these politics always works in "Bullywood"
There is a lobby in Bwood and then there is money muscle. Independent artists like you and many other TH-camers who understand music appreciate RD but no official Bwood figure ever says a word about his genius or describe his methods. They want to portray him as a western tune thief. Thanks to you people who are keeping Pancham Da happy in heaven. ArunDa Was thrilled with your Sagar version which you shared with him.
Dr. Saab, I wholeheartedly support your views. God is everywhere. Misdeeds of a few devils decaying Bollywood slowly but steadily. I remind dialogue of Anil Kapoor to Jackie Shroff in movie Parinda, "Bhaiya, yeh to hona hi tha, yehi hoga". 🙏 to You
PanchamTantra Sir, this message of mine to you is to request that you make a video on stating how many different forms of music Pancham Da had covered. 1 example of each. This will include forms like Italian Jazz which he had composed in "Do lafzon ki hai", Latin American beats which he had played in many songs. Like this. He had composed music of many forms in his work. I wish if you could make a video on this.
very nice video sir.... RD Burman sir ke kuch gaane huye hai jinme unhone pass pass ke sur liye h ya aise sur jo us gane me kahi b nahi please unke bare me bataiye.
Mr. Panchamtantra, today I request you to make a video on Pancham Da's personal side. We have seen many videos on his craft which you have decoded, so now it gets natural to desire to know about his personal personality. Pancham Da was a terrific of a persona with rare qualities like coming up with expressions & reactions when he wasn't expected & going silent despite not getting anything when he hasn't got the reward of his work. I have followed Pancham Da very closely through mediums like videos & posts of social media by which I have come to know him a lot. I can predict in what conditions he will say what things when asked about something. By this knowledge, I know that he was a very conservative & humble man. But I have seen him coming up with surprises of responses in reply to things in videos of filmy parties & functions when I thought he won't have anything to say. & He goes into reserve after interviews in which he has poured his heart out & hasn't got enough appreciation from the interviewer. He doesn't press for what doesn't come on its own to him. & His undying love for Kishore Da. We all know he loved Kishore Da more than anyone else after his father. There are anecdotes like these which mesmerise the heart. I wish if you could make such a video on his personal side. I doubt although that this doesn't fall within the scope of your channel.
Dear PanchamTantra, my request to you is that you analyse with your understanding which were the years in which Pancham Da should have got Filmfare awards (As we all know he got very few awards), in which other years he deserved the award, with your analysis of how & why. I think it will be a very interesting research for you as well as the viewers.
Thanks for the suggestion Saurabh, However, there are two reasons why we do not do it. First is obviously because this channel is about trying to explore how Panchamda might have thought while executing the songs. And secondly, because Filmfare Awards never had any credibility. But for your record, here is some info Maddy had shared elsewhere years ago.... RDB got only THREE filmfare awards in his whole career spanning 35 years and 331 films. And one of them was posthumous(1942-A LOVE STORY-FF 1994). The other two were for SANAM TERI KASAM(1982) and MASOOM(1983). Now let us see some of the great films(music wise) of RDB and find out who stole the show at the FF awards when these films were released. Whether the music that was awarded deserved the award is something I will leave to you. 1966 - RDB’s Teesri Manzil. FF Award goes to ''Suraj'' by Shankar Jaikishen. 1970 - RDB’s Kati Patang. FF Award goes to ''Pehchan'' by Shankar Jaikishen. 1971 - RDB’s Amar Prem, Carvaan, Hare Rama Hare Krishna. FF Award goes to ''Mera Naam Joker'' by Shankar Jaikishen. 1972 - RDB’s Mere Jeevan Saathi, Jawani Diwani, Apna Desh, Garam Masala. FF Award goes to ''Beimaan'' by Shankar Jaikishan. 1974 - RDB’s Aap ki kasam, Ajnabi, Manoranjan. FF Award goes to ''Kora Kagaz'' by Kalyanji Anandji. 1977 - RDB’s Hum Kisise Kam Nahin(11 song film...all HITS),Kinara, Kitaab. FF Award goes to ''Amar Akbar Anthony'' by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Countless other films by RDB like Saagar, Ijaazat, Khel khel mein, Parichay, Yaadon ki Baraat never saw the citations they deserved. _Ijaazat_ which brought in nothing less than the National Award for both Gulzaarsaab and Asha Bhonsle for the song ''Mera Kuch Samaan'' never got even a glance at the person who deserved the real credit. That much for the Filmfare Awards!
@@PanchaMtantraDecodingRDBurman agree...here I am with Amir Khan ( Barring his family ditching RD ...)who never attends the ceremony....and looking at the quality of awards given by FF in last few years.. especially since Gully boy..😭😭... Hats off to this Kavita ji sad version..also the original female version... which I believe HMV (not again!!) got it re-dubbed later on post RD departure....from this Insane world.💔 Also in opinion...this album would have more zing if male version had Amit Kumar.... For recollection value!!.RD did spend much time correcting/adjusting the final orginal product so that it would be more presentable(read soothing!!)....🙄
Madhav Sir, has the song "Ye dil ye paagal dil mera" of Ghulam Ali also been composed by Pancham Da? I have just found that Pancham Da was the music director of the 1984 film "Maati maange khoon" in which this song was there. I am not being able to believe that Pancham Da could compose such a purely typical Ghulam Ali type song also which Ghulam Ali counts in his best songs & it is much similar in feel to the top 4-5 songs of Ghulam Ali which are there. I want to find this out. Kindly help.
"Ye Dil Ye Pagal Dil Mera" was composed by Ghulam Ali Sahab himself. I believe it was written by Janab Mohsin Naqvi sahab/ It released in 1980, and was included in the film MAATI MANGE KHOON in 1984.
PanchamTantra, this is not in connection to you, this is a personal feeling of mine on Pancham Da, which I am sharing with you as you share this feeling with me. I think this bday of Pancham Da is going to be special. The preparation has been set. The research is over. The discoveries have been done. The moods of all have been built. & All are united. The only thing remaining now is the party. Over the last decade we have discovered a new layer of Pancham Da's songs, all cult & still hidden by the element of time, got discovered by researchers like you, looking for his new pearls. In the last 1-2 years there has been a sort of a mini 3rd layer discovered also as they have come after the saturation point of people's expectations & are to some extent his superlative ones also. The mission then began of TH-cam channels doing projects of decoding Pancham work, Facebook groups uniting his fans & celebrities & artists of his time & field giving tributes & recognitions to him. Some organisations like Mobius Films have come out with extensive & intensive documentaries on him. Radio channels especially dedicated to him have been opened & a whole lot of artists, researchers & programme makers on T.V. & internet are exploring the vast ocean of his music. This is the reason I think his this bday will be special. His birthday has been celebrated since the last some years, a lot of material has got accumulated to be discussed, communicated & broadcasted in connection to him & people are looking for some special thing to happen in connection to him. Hence, I think his this bday will be the occasion. Special radio programmes might be aired on that day, the researching Facebook & TH-cam channels might come up with something particular & people might explode in the Panchammagic. Hence, a lot is boiling under his lava this year & I am really excited to experience all that thrill. I will prepare something from my side also to contribute to the fun. Counting down, One of his ecclesiastical fans.
Yes...Latadidi was the only factor which tried to compensate. Just imagine what she would have created had she sung this version and had Panchamda to supervise it. It would have been a miracle at another level...

@@PanchaMtantraDecodingRDBurman Thanks.
Another one from 1986 unreleased film Ashirbad : Sanwari sayari…..by AshaB so cutely made in 1942

Counting down,
One of his ecclesiastical fans.
Gajab!🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Excellent info Maddy da.
Nice #pradipkumar
The flute piece in this song was inspired by aan milo shyam(devdas) track, which was composed by sd burman
This is beautiful...but lataji version is more soulful..the pain lataji created in original is so pure...I cant imagine anything else.
Yes...Latadidi was the only factor which tried to compensate. Just imagine what she would have created had she sung this version and had Panchamda to supervise it. It would have been a miracle at another level...
@@PanchaMtantraDecodingRDBurman oh my god...it would be heavenly.
Panchamda latadidi has given us so many evergreen gems...we are so thankful to them..panchamda era is eternal....thank u so much for ur comment. I must say every song of panchamda is gem.

Anuradha Padwal's version closely resembles the antara tune of a bengali shyama sangeet ' Dosh karo noi go ma' available on youtube, sung by Anuradha Padwal, Kumar Sanu among many other singers.
