Installing Drill Tec on draft horse shoes

It is extremely hot and humid! This week we are installing Drill Tec on the draft horse shoes. This gives traction and stability when the horses are walking on concrete or asphalt.

We used to do our mule shoes the same way. Worked great for getting our wagon train down the asphalt highways. This vid brought back fun memories.

Good info , never knew how they did traction on horse shoes. Always seen the lugs and thought that was all they did.

Hi Dave. Thanks for another great video. Interesting process of putting drill tec on your draft shoes. Not a good option for me as I don’t think my horse stall mats would hold up.

Theres more to it than just clapping a set of shoes on Dave, would vents either end of roof help or is there just no wind? We have had a few weeks of 70 odd degrees and we think thats hot but into the nineties i dont envy you but horses have to be out of it. Regards Alan from the UK.

Hey Alan good to hear from you again! I actually have a full ridge vent across the top and plenty of wind as well, it's just that it dies out once it gets in stalls and creates a hot uncomfortable situation. I actually installed 2 new fans today and oh my what a difference! I was able to leave them in there for a bit and they enjoyed the breeze. I ordered 2 more already and look forward to having them all operating. We should be good then ! Thx brother!
