Damn , that's a busy start 😳
I last heard this over 30 years ago when a guitar teacher friend loaned it to me . All i can remember is the (positive) impression it left .
I am from Belo Horizonte and I remember when John came here for a wonderful concert and probably was so enchanted by the city that he decided to name his record "Belo horizonte"
As I mentioned above, Pat Metheny was also heavily influenced by that incredible Brazilian music... several albums back in the mid-80's. On a personal note, I was looking at my channel's demographic data of listeners' country and outside the U.S. most were from Brazil, followed by Italy. Both are big on Pat Metheny and John McLaughlin, etc... too. Commonalities in groove. 💪
I was in that concert, and all or almost friends of mine too, include Guile Coscarella... that talking about previously. Egberto Gismont played too. Yesterday Toninho Horta won the Grammy Latino price with the (another...) album "Belo Horizonte". Pat Metheny... It's great that my city is so musical!

;-)
Does this have anything to do with Belo Horizonte the Brazilian city?
Yes... Apparently he was spending a great deal of time in Brazil and of course, all that incredible Brazilian music inspired him on this album. The same goes for Pat Metheny on all his work in the mid-80s.
this album is an albums album or musics music or something SOMEONE HELP!
Terence Stanwick Ha! Right on... I'm good with either. They're both spot on.
@ThePmfan... Poooooooooffffff! LOL!!
Queria saber o porquê deste nome.
Eu também. Lembro do show no antigo ginásio do Minas Tênis Clube, mas nunca descobri o porquê do nome.
