I’m also really annoying, I play too much, and I’m loud 🗿 it’s just easy for me to relate to Kokichi, especially when we find out he was lying to help the rest of the characters in Danganronpa
when i first started kinning him, like literally no one trusted me in things as small as games. like, in exploding kittens, id use the see the future card and tell them the truth if the death card's in there, and theyll just laugh and use the shuffle card. so now i make sure everyone actually doesnt trust me. (only during games! or am i lying?)
Okay but Kokichi, both the fanmade pregame version and the canon version are relatable, when I was younger (3-6th grade) I was an emotional, honest, crybaby who got bullied by my classmates and didn’t have many friends to the point where I befriended my school janitor and my teachers. Then when 7th grade summer hit I started to lie to people about my feelings and held back my tears, smiling, etc (basically masking, I think). Slowly getting lost in lying, and I had developed a fear of vulnerability and stopped telling people about my interests because I’d get called names and things for liking art, anime, and other things like BATIM and FNF. I started becoming more confident with this persona, talking to people, making friends, making jokes, talking more, and created a friend group. In the beginning of 8th grade that friend group abandoned me because my mask slipped and I told them that I enjoyed their company and I wanted to be their friends till forever and they apparently didn’t like that. So when 9th grade started I found new friends and kept my mask up this time around and things are going fine. We’ve been friends for a few years now but I’ve never told them about my true self because I’ve honestly lost that part of myself a while ago, I don’t know how to get it back and I’m scared.
