Ikenga festival, NOT IKENGE! You should have sent an Igbo-speaking reporter!

Anne Francis Elizabeth it's ikenge in ukwani language not ikenga.

Are you not allowing yourself to become confused?
Why were you quiet when your Nigerian President said Ifeanyi Emefiele and Ibe Kachikwu represent the Igbos in his government? Why did you not put out a small rejoinder to correct the Federal Government? Why did no one protest Chibuike Amaechi's "mistaken identity" when he boasted that he is an Igbo man (and that Goodluck Jonathan is not)? Why did you not protest when Jim Okechukwu Ovia was honoured as an Igbo icon? Would Jim have accepted an honour as a "Bini icon"? Why was Dennis Osadebe the Secretary of the Igbo Union and Ralph Uwechue the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo?. Why did Olusegun Obasanjo say that Peter Otunaya Odili cannot be President because he is an Igbo man? Why were all Igbos massacred when the Anioma soldiers led the first coup in Nigeria?
The explanation for all the above is very simple: Anioma, Ukwuani, Ikwerre, Ika, Ekpeye, Ndoni, Mbaise, Wawa, Ijekeebe, Arochukwu, etc etc are not merely kit and kin. They are members of one large group which everyone who is not confused calls "IGBO".
N.B: You may not be aware of it, but there are also Anioma communities in Anambra State, namely Onitsha, Ogbaru, Akwukwu Obosi, Ozobulu and Ogidi. They can also be found in the Oguta and Ndoni areas of Imo and Rivers States, respectively. Or are you also willing to disown Anioma in an attempt to disown Igbo?

It seems that it is you who is posting "whatever you like".
You are not the first and would not be the last person to hate or deny your identity. There was a time when Onitsha people said they were not Igbos (but they have now "grown up" to accept who they are). The Awujale of Ijebuland hates being called Yoruba. But it is too late to establish an "Ijebu nation" because Ijebus are core to the Yorubas just as Aniomas are core to Igbos.
      Two quick questions:
      1. What language is "Ukwuani" (hint: it is the Igbo term for "Netherlands"); it is the opposite of Enu-Ani (Highlands). Both names are meaningless except in reference to a larger group. Ukwuani is the "leg" of Western Igbos.
      2. Are you also rejecting Anioma or proposing that Aniomas are not Igbos?

I really appreciate your position. It is like Etisalat saying "call us 9mobile" or NEPA saying "call us EKDC". This kind of problem is insoluble because the whole world will continue to apply the duck test - "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck." I recommend that you meditate on the Serenity Prayer every day.

Please, don't compare apples and oranges. "Urhobo" is not a Bini word. Urhobos do not bear Bini names. Urhobo kings are not called "Oba". Moreover, Urhobos do not join the pan-Bini union!
You can go on shouting that "Ukwuani" (which actually means "the leg of Igboland") is not Igbo. You can go on shouting that "Anioma" which is scattered all over Igboland is not Igbo. But it is a failed attempt.
Another small assignment for you: read all of I Corinthians 12 (your memory verse is I Corinthians 12 verse 15).

The explanation is not correct. The founder of the settlement Obiaruku has his name as Aruku. Aruku deserted his settlement as a result of his actions which lead to the death of a colonel boss who disrespected him. The lineage of Aruku himself is still in existence. I can prove that to you as well as his origin and where he proceeded from to discover this settlement and where he came back to after the incident.
