@BlingQueen: You should come to the big rig challenge it’s at the end of may. It’s in onaway mi it’s huge. Thousands of people come to a little town of under 900. Semi uphill drag racing. Would make a good episode

I love the story arc of this video, from avoiding “touristy” stuff (my pet peeve, too) to a deeper understanding of how tourism can actually help communities like this one. Thank you for opening my eyes to that.
Its wild how this community is half the size of the small town ive lived in my whole life except im in a desert and theyre literally floating on the water. Such a unique way theyre living

This one was special ❤. There was a lot of reflection, openness, and gratitude. Luis, Bri and their family are a true reminder of what is important in life. Thank you Kara and Nate for showing the beauty of this world and the people that walk it. I love watching your adventures, physical challenges and unique experiences, but this one hit different. This was a truly heartwarming story to share with us all.
I love how it never feels like Kara and Nate are exploiting the locals. They genuinely care about them and their way of life, and appreciate the authentic experience they offer. Thank you Kara and Nate for being amazing humans 💛
@@leensalocinRight, I'm only 7min in but the complaining about the prices and calling it a tourist trap because it didn't _seem_ authentic enough was off-putting. Nate's always been frugal but over the years, he's let up a lot ...so coupled with Kara's comments, this came off as if they felt this community isn't worth what they charge. I've seen much older videos of other content creators visiting this village and there was no mention of entry fee or high prices so it's actually nice to know indigenous folks have started making people pay for the "show." I'm sure the tone of the video will get back on track to what I'm used to from these two. Odd.
I've noticed Kara is getting more reflective on their lives. I feel it wouldn't take much to coax Kara to stay and teach a while at one of these schools. She'd be a great ambassador.
My great grandmother was indigenous to the mik'maw lands and they were fishermen and hunter/gatherer. My father embraced these customs and I very much grew up in a similar fashion. Thank you for respecting and honouring these indigenous humans, their land, their water/earth and recognizing the beauty of the way they live. Wela'lin Nitap (thank you friend) in mik'maw.
Absolutely beautiful. I was brought to tears during this video. I loved just how much I could sense the happiness radiating from the screen. Luis and his community deserve the best so let’s give them the best! Thank K&N for another BANGER 🔥 we appreciate you more than you know!
I love the humility Nate talked about at the end of the video. I’ve visited a lot of places that are typically “touristy” and have since realized the same. I went to Egypt after the revolution there in 2011 and they were so desperate for tourists to come back, I could feel their desperation. So many of these countries have so little infrastructure and employment, tourism might be their only income. I also work in Alaska and because the cruise lines couldn’t come there for two years, many small business closed because they are so dependent on tourism-whole families had to leave the state that had been there for generations. I’ve still met genuine citizens at the touristy places as well. Thank you for this video. Loved it. ❤
This video was so, so special. Your storytelling of their life and your change in views throughout the video was just perfect. I am so grateful that you brought us this.
I often find myself smiling from ear to ear with tears in my eyes watching the vlogs. The little moment on the boat with Luis and Bri was everything. Thanks for bringing us with you on your adventures. I would love to travel the world too, but there's so many beautiful place to see, it's hard to choose. It truly warmed my heart at the end to hear Nate say that this stay made him rethink his view on tourism on Lake Titicaca. That is one thing that I have found so refreshing watching Kara and Nate...they are willing to open up and be vulnerable with their community. Also they are not afraid to say "I was wrong". I have 4 travel/van lifers that I watch religiously...Kara and Nate, Eamon and Bec, Nomadic Movement (Jordan & Kaylee) as well as Kinging It (Craig and Amy) All 4 of these channels will never leave you feeling like you regret watching there video...sure there will be times where maybe they are not their 100% happy positive vibes normal selves but they will never put down others and they will never make you feel like you are less than they are. Good people.

That being said, I want to thank y’all for the joy you’ve brought into my life ever since I started watching you guy’s amazing content. You guys have encouraged me to travel around the world (and mostly in vans) once I get out of college. Also, by the way, if anybody’s reading this, and has not signed up for the daily drop, I recommend you do! It’s a total game changer in the traveling industry. Same for Faredrop! I use it anytime I’m looking to book a flight anywhere and let me just tell you it finds flights that are SOOOO MUCH CHEAPER!! And it’s not a hastle to find them and all!! I love you guy’s energy and open heart to want to try uncomfortable things and seek far outside of your comfort zone. You guys are not just any cookie-cutter travel vlogging channel. I can tell by Kara’s amazing editing skills and Nate’s heart to always seek adventure(same for Kara lol). It is an amazing experience to watch. When I watch yalls videos, I feel like I’m standing right next to y’all in the adventure that y’all take! It’s really inspiring. So I want to thank Kara and Nate again (hopefully, you guys get to read this 😊) for putting all of your time and effort into organizations like those and still find the time to live life to the fullest, and share your journeys with us!!💗💗 happy traveling!! - sending love from the great state of Louisiana!!
We have to get in on this because we feel the same!! Watching your channel is what got us watching TH-cam in general. we were plannjng a trip and became obsessed with Mark Weins and 'Kara and Nate' ...and we were inspired to become digital nomads. We've been on the road in Mexico for 2.5 years now!! We owe a lot to your inspiration. ❤ And bravo, your content just keeps getting better. 👏👏 👏
Hey Kara and Nate! As a video idea, maybe you can do a follow up with Luis on how their tourist business is doing in like 4 months? :) I really hope they get more guests🙏 Thank you for the amazing video!
Why did this video made me cry!! 12 min in and I’m tearing up watching how happy you two and the family were.🥹 So sweet. Kara and Nate, thank you for sharing these types of videos with us, it shows that you guys really enjoy it🤍 including the downs as is part of every journey in life.
My favorite thing about your channel is that you have such a beautiful variety, relaxing with locals, crazy races, challenging adventures through nature, and your personal voice and experience shines through all of it in such a warm and inviting way. Ya'll are the best, keep doin what you do!
This is one of my favorite vids of yours. I've been following you guys for years, but there was just something special about the one. Thanks so much for sharing. I've wanted to visit this area for years, but now at age 82 you have made it possible for me to do it. I appreciate you both so much.
Whether I am ill, having a bad day, or just scrolling the interwebs, the best channel on this platform reigns supreme! Thanks so much for bring me joy! Your channel helped me get through some personal struggle.
Thank you for sharing what it is like for the people in the area. My favourite videos you do is when you live and interact with the locals. What beautiful loving people! God bless them 🇨🇦
Lovely how Kara and Nate have been able to blend their business with life experiences. You can see how genuine both souls are in the videos. Beautiful video of lake Titicaca.. and the culture if the people living there. As usual, a great learning experience. Thanks Nate and Kara❤❤
How fortunate to be able to stay with such a wonderful family. I really admire how you've both had such amazing adventures, but have managed to stay so humble and appreciative of the things you have. Bri also reminded me of Frankie for some reason. Same bright smile I suppose.
You are so unlike other travel vloggers. You seek out opportunities to show us the world versus you being the star in it. Thank you. I’ve seen places I. Never expected to see.
Ive heard of this place and always just giggled at the name but seeing this has been extremely enlightening. Thank you sweet kiddos for being the eyes and travelers for all of us who cant. Such a beautiful family. Im sure you left a big impression and gratuity for them. ❤❤❤
I absolutely love watching you guys go out and experience the world in such an empathetic, caring, non-judgmental way. I don’t get out much, so I live vicariously through you and your adventures; so, thank you. Thank you for going where I can’t and letting me still experience the world in ways I never would have had the opportunity to. I love these types of videos, especially, where you connect with the people and cultures around you. Being a history lover and lover of learning about new cultures, this brings me such joy. Again, thank you. And many safe, healthy, and happy travels ahead (I hope)! Love from Jackson, Ohio. 💜🤗💜
I'm watching this on a NYC bus and I feel like I'm on vacation with you guys. I appreciate you taking us places many of us may never get to. Much luv to you both! And thanks for showing the kids they are adorable !
I think you and Nate are two of the most genuine people I’ve stumbled across on TH-cam. I love when you have those quiet moments and remind yourself and therefore all of us just how lucky we are with what little or great amounts of things we have because things are just things and the people you surround yourself with that bring you joy. Thank you for sharing these journeys.
Woooow!! So many feelings right now!! This was such an amazing video! You can see how special the experience was, full of learning, sharing time with Luis and his family and simply enjoying slow life! I got emotional at so many points of the video 🥺 Also because this experience made me think of my dad, recently passed away. He moved from Germany to Spain (which is the reason I exist 😂) to learn Spanish so he could travel to Perú, which was a dream of his. He then met my mom and stayed in Spain, and only got to live his dream 20 years later. And one of the places he visited was Lake Titicaca, and he stayed with a local family as well. I wish I can experience that place myself one day!
Great to watch Nate turn from somewhat doubtful about Titicaca, to sharing some of his joy and thankfulness for their visit and Kara also. Luis and Bri were such a great part of this video.
I love Luis and his family♥️ How sweet they were to serve you guys a candle lit dinner and really bring into their daily lives. I’m amazed at the floating island homes, it’s incredible!!! Such a sweet video y’all!! Bri was such a sweetheart, she’s the same age as my youngest so it was extra touching to see how she lived and her sweet disposition🫶🏼 Stay you ✌🏼
Nate's moustache has returned 😂😂What a fun experience. Luis is the GOAT and Bri was so sweet. With 3.5 million subs i hope Luis gets lots of extra business from this
Your ability to connect with the locals is amazing. I would give anything to have those experiences. Your videos make it possible for those watching to become a part of your experience.
This was such a wonderful video. We loved seeing the locals and how they live. You two are kind and amazing people. It really just shines out of you. You do such a great job of sharing your adventures. Thank you!! ❤
its so beautiful how not only did they get an authentic experence of the lifestyles there, but also how they learned that tourism can boost small communities and that they are gratful its so heartwarming to see :)))
You guys do a terrific job of going beyond tourism and really experiencing places - and let it shine in your videos! Fascinating to learn about the spots you visit through this format. Also, I am still really impressed by you guys taking on the monkey run!
Whoa. I don't normally comment on your videos: I love them all. This one was different. It was mind blowing. The content, surely; however, the production itself seemed to be at a whole other level. This was just incredible. It must be difficult to communicate effectively through the lens, but you nailed every aspect of this video. It was extraordinary. Well done! You both should be very proud of yourselves.
This is by far my favorite video. What an absolutely beautiful family! Sometimes we need those moments that humble us. Or we need reminders to look at things from other’s perspectives. ❤️
Between the monkey run videos and this video, it’s so lovely to see how the people of Peru are so genuinely kind and compassionate. It’s so awesome that you all can capture the hospitality and genuine goodness of other people. It’s such a blessing to see. 🥰 Thank you! ❤
This may be one of my favorite videos y'all have made :) It was so beautiful to see how people with a completely different lifestyle live their lives each day. Luis seems like an absolute gem of a human and his family too ❤
Love love love this new type of video!!! Love the self reflection we get to hear about, and love the realness. Also love that you got to quiet down a little bit in your hectic lives. I only lasted one year at a time travelling. Then I was tired or exhausted. I lived with a family in north India, in Himachal Pradesh for a month and it felt like a lot longer. I often think about them still, even though this was 2007-8. Please more content like this. This is my way of travelling. ❤❤❤❤❤ /Livvey from Sweden
I do selfishly with you all posted more than once a week! Your videos just keep getting better and better! The content is SO much fun and so educational here lately.
Wow! What an awesome experience! Luis’ Airbnb is now on my bucket list! (Side note - my bucket list has gotten a million times longer since watching your channel!)
You guys are icons on TH-cam. I have love seeing you grow together. From just married and broke to having an incredible TH-cam channel. Love ur videos!!
I swear your adventures and vlogs are more and more incredible all the time, with the inclusion of all the indigenous cultures and people you two are immersing yourself in and sharing with us! INCREDIBLE!! And Brrrri WAS the most adorable little girl, EVER!
Literally just screamed.. “THEY POSTED ANOTHER ONE!” my partner woke up in a panic with the biggest wide eyes..👀 😂😂 Poor guy hahah So much love from Australia! Thank-you guys for blessing us with your adventures! 💛
Love the spirit of growth, community, and family that this video shares. Sometimes the most surprising journeys are the ones we take within ourselves. Also, Bri….she was an absolute highlight!!
It's shame that Peru right now is not getting good press coverage and the people suffer. A big Thank You to you guys for showing this video and casting a shining light on this country. And Luis and his family were such gracious hosts. Harriet and I will sign up with him when we go to Peru soon. Hope you guys are doing ok. 🙏👍👍🙏 Harriet, Jim and Yuki, Richmond, Va.
I went to Lake Titicaca in 2019 and stayed with a family/helped with chores and to cook dinner. It was the most amazing experience. The little girl we were staying with gave me a "hot water bottle" for sleeping overnight since it was so cold. It was literally a plastic water bottle filled with hot water and wrapped up. Best night sleep ever. Your peru videos are making me so so happy!!!!!
Wow. What an amazing trip and how beautiful is this family. I would love to donate to the family since it hard to get to Peru. It amazing what they have to do to make a living but you can feel the love of this family and how they welcome us to their home.❤❤❤
This was such a great video. It felt like a breath of fresh air for you (or maybe us!) After the intensity of the Monkey Run. We were so thrilled to see you in such a happy place. I wonder how many (like us) immediately looked up the airbnb link! ? ❤ We definitely would love to experience this when we pass through ... as always, thank you for your next level content!
It’s so beautiful to see both of your genuine appreciation for the locals anywhere you travel. You embrace these adventures as much as you do the fancy, one could only wish, kinds. ❤
I'm a 49 year old woman, and I would love to go net fishing on Lake Titicaca like Nate did. Knowing a true indigenous culture will make u appreciate an easier/simpler way of life. One of my favorite destinations from yall to date! I'm going!❤
While I sit here watching you on my computer you two are living the most amazing life. Thank you for sharing all your fascinating experiences. Loved that little girl. Thanks for supporting the locals!!!
I am not sure if its how you edited this or your caring natures but this kinda brought me to tears at moments. The lovely view as the sun rose at 430 AM, the warmth in how you spoke about helping them with gas. I got in my feels somehow. We should all be so grateful.
Brilliant guys... well done for recognising how much tourism can be a GOOD THING because it supports locals survive... and even greater that you both admitted the error in your way of thinking. Ps the sunset and sunrise was stunning.. so glad you went fishing Nath.
This channel has grown to be one of the best travel channels. You guys capture a different side of travelling. Watching your videos feels like another experience and a different point of view. Love love loveeeeeee this channel.
Thank you for sharing this video and honoring how truly kind and giving the Peruvian people are. i had the marvelous privilege of living in several Peruvian villages for four months many years ago, and their generosity and kindness made me fall in love with them and completely changed how I see the world.Thank you Kara and Nate.
Ok I understand people have their own journeys but I just have to say.. IF you EVER decide to or are blessed with a baby I would definitely watch that content; watching Kara with kids in these last few videos really displays her love for children and what a great mom she’d be. If no kids ever come don’t worry we’re still gonna watch lol just wanted to say it’s very sweet to see ❤
I love your episodes, that make all the stresses of the week melt away. And this was one of those episodes. Luis and his family were a real treasure. And little Bri is a bright shining star! I hope Bri and Kara can somehow keep in touch, or if that is not possible, perhaps Kara and Nate will visit them again. My heart feels light and rejuvenated. Thank you, Kara and Nate for showing us this amazing community ❤
Ok, just hear me out I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEEEEEE this channel and I have been watching them for about a year & 1/2, and every time there is a kid or baby involved in there travels they do soooo well with the kid! Obviously they are doing full time travel and don’t live in there home on wheels anymore so having a kid is not on their agenda but I’m just saying if they do ever have a kid, they are going to be the best parents ever! ❤❤❤
This was so special on every level. I have to admit that tourist places can be come a trap but coming from the Caribbean (Dominican Republic) I also understand the importance of the tourism on must countries around the world. Actually some towns back In the DR make their living out of the tourist that visit them. And there is many ways we can get to know the culture of a country by being a tourist too, meaning visit them, staying at the airbnbs, eating at their restaurants, renting cars, using the services of local guides, purchasing small goods or souvenirs. Next time anyone visit a country stop and talk to the locals that work in those all inclusive hotels or those who work in the restaurants listen to their stories and it will make you understand the importance of the tourism. Thank you Kara and Nate for revising your initials thoughts and showing your subscribers that yes traveling is not only a personal sometimes selfish experience but also how it helps the communities we visit.

I think Luis is about to have a lot of visitors in the near future 😄
Yes please!!
His abnb page is filled with awesome reviews.
It's $27 a night. Just book it and stay home to support them
Absolutely do not do that. People need to actually go to help the tourism industry there. Also don’t take away from people who want to go
I agree. I'm going to try and go stay there next year

Moved me to tears to see Luis and his family´s humility and hospitality. Loved this video and your experience..thank you
How fortunate to be able to stay with such a wonderful family.
You two restore the name of American Tourists. Your gentleness and care is always on full view. Thank you for letting us live through your eyes.
I love Luis and his family♥️ How sweet they were to serve you guys a candle lit dinner and really bring into their daily lives. I’m amazed at the floating island homes, it’s incredible!!! Such a sweet video y’all!! Bri was such a sweetheart, she’s the same age as my youngest so it was extra touching to see how she lived and her sweet disposition🫶🏼
Stay you ✌🏼
Nate's moustache has returned 😂😂What a fun experience. Luis is the GOAT and Bri was so sweet. With 3.5 million subs i hope Luis gets lots of extra business from this
My wife and I were like “Oh, no!” when I saw the mustache; but we still love Kara and Nate regardless if the bad mustache makes it’s return. LOL!
Your ability to connect with the locals is amazing. I would give anything to have those experiences. Your videos make it possible for those watching to become a part of your experience.
The monkey run and this video having so wonderful to watch. Thank you for taking the world with you and being such good people
This was such a wonderful video. We loved seeing the locals and how they live. You two are kind and amazing people. It really just shines out of you. You do such a great job of sharing your adventures. Thank you!! ❤
What a sweet community! Love how respectful and kind you both are on all your travels 💕🥰
its so beautiful how not only did they get an authentic experence of the lifestyles there, but also how they learned that tourism can boost small communities and that they are gratful its so heartwarming to see :)))
You guys do a terrific job of going beyond tourism and really experiencing places - and let it shine in your videos! Fascinating to learn about the spots you visit through this format. Also, I am still really impressed by you guys taking on the monkey run!
This is actually one of my favorites. I love how down to earth you two were with Luis and his family. Thank you
Thank you! ❤
Thank you for sharing that perspective about Luis and his family at the end. Definitely made me cry. This whole episode is one of my favorites.
Watching you guys with small children is something else! Seriously my heart melts ❤❤❤❤
I LOVE LUIS, he seamed so genuine and kind!!!
This may be one of my favorite videos y'all have made :) It was so beautiful to see how people with a completely different lifestyle live their lives each day. Luis seems like an absolute gem of a human and his family too ❤
Beautiful. Kara, your gratitude for this experience and for Louis’ family brought tears to my eyes!
Thank you Kara and Nate for showing us such unique, interesting experiences!
Wow! What an awesome experience! Luis’ Airbnb is now on my bucket list! (Side note - my bucket list has gotten a million times longer since watching your channel!)

Kara this made me cry, what a wonderful, humbling experience. So proud of you and Nate showing and doing this adventure.
“THEY POSTED ANOTHER ONE!” my partner woke up in a panic with the biggest wide eyes..👀 😂😂
Poor guy hahah So much love from Australia!
Thank-you guys for blessing us with your adventures! 💛
Love the spirit of growth, community, and family that this video shares. Sometimes the most surprising journeys are the ones we take within ourselves.
Also, Bri….she was an absolute highlight!!
Have been LOVING your video’s recently so excited for what 2023 has to come for you guys! Keep loving life!
Thanks Tiana!!🥰💞
Awww Luis’s family is so cute especially Bri and her sister and how Luis and his wife are so welcoming and love you guys 🩷
Please leave a nice tip! its absurd AirBNB allows them to only charge 28 USD a night.
I'm going!❤
Love when you do these types of stories. Luxury travel is great in it's own right but this is what I love Kara and Nate for. Happy travels!
Loved this!! And omg how adorable is Bri 🥹
Cutest 7 year old on the planet!!
While I sit here watching you on my computer you two are living the most amazing life. Thank you for sharing all your fascinating experiences. Loved that little girl. Thanks for supporting the locals!!!
This is a place I totally would go to! It is so beautiful, and the people are so friendly
I love this community integration videos. It teaches us a lot about the community.
Thank you for sharing this video and honoring how truly kind and giving the Peruvian people are. i had the marvelous privilege of living in several
Peruvian villages for four months many years ago, and their generosity and kindness made me fall in love with them and completely changed how I see the world.Thank you Kara and Nate.
Ugh dream job! I would to do what you guys do! The good. The bad. All of it!
Love you guys! Been a silent follower from the beginning!
Thanks Brianne 🫶🏻❤️
Been watching you both for years.
This is the first video that made me cry...it was a good cry. It gave me all the feels
Seriously the end of this video looks like a home movie of you guys visiting your family! Luis and his daughter look like the sweetest people 🤗🤗
I cringed at the start when you were talking about authenticity. But the realisation at the end was great to hear.
This was honestly one of my favorite videos that y'all have ever made! Amazing from start to finish!
I had a science project about it, nice video, been watching for years, keep it up!👍🏻
@11:40 CHEEKS!!!!
Nothing brings more joy to me than smiling, chubby-cheeked baby.
Throw a dart on the world map and go to anywhere it land on sound fun and interesting for you guys to try😆
Love your videos Kara and Nate❤❤
Peru seems like a place that’s always happy and nice it’s so cute
Beautifully done! The two of you do such a wonderful job of virtually immersing your viewers in your amazing experiences. Thank you!!!
