    Welcome Lee as a fellow Drak owner! Once you’ve flown a Drak you’ll never go back to other high performance FPV wings! It looks like you are off to an excellent start to the build. I have two suggestions for you: join the Ritewing Nation Facebook Group which is the official Drak Owners group and take to heart the suggestion made by ‘Rag the Nuts Off’ Matt and do some research on the control linkages for the MD. You do want very tall control horns on the elevon with the linkage attached to the top hole on the control horn and fairly close to center on the Servo horn so as to have maximum resolution in the mechanical linkage. Also get your reflex set right and use minimal throws and you’ll be golden. Also, Vector is the absolute best and only flight controller to use for max capability and reliability. I look forward to your next two videos and am eager to see the maiden video. Cheers!

      Why do you recommend minimal throws? Aren't you putting in a big linkage so you get a larger throw?

    I squirted some goop in a 10ml syringe, and that made getting goop into the fiberglass spar channels and wings a breeze, without creating a mess!

    Can't wait to see this thing fly. Very nice tutorial.

    So excited to see this... Because it's what I'm going to be building. Been slowly watching your other videos on iNav and wing FCs... But this the actual wing I'm going to build.

    Another method of putting ailerons on is to use the inner part of an old floppy disc, cut to size to make hinges and cut slots into wing and aileron and glue in using gorilla glue to hold in place not forgetting to make a few holes in both sides of hinge for gorilla glue to expand through the holes of hinge, the result is a super strong hinge that will never break

    I just ordered this whole setup with the special sauce motor & special sauce ESC and the servos I also ordered it with the boom kit so it has a tail instead, should be here Monday. If I need help can I contact you on patreon is that the easiest way? I keep forgetting because I've been so busy but I'm definitely going to need help with this build I'll be putting the furiousfpv f-35 lightning inav flight controller kit with the newest firmware I hope it works with it. I haven't decided if I'm going to go on 2.4 video since I have a module for my goggles and I already have the full size Crossfire with the diamond antenna and some homemade receiver antennas because they're all too short from the factory.
    but I'm definitely going to watch the series before I ask questions cuz it'll probably answer most of them. Thank you for doing this. Happy patreon for sure right here 4life thanks for everything Lee ❤️🙏

      @@Painless360 awesome I'm going to watch the whole series first before I start asking questions because most of them will probably be there. Lol. But if I get lost I'll definitely contact you on patreon I don't want to mess this build up and do you think it's safe to put the furiousfpv f-35 lightning or should I go with the micro vector or vector like you did I don't mind spending the extra money sorry I asked this question here I just figured why you here Id ask.
      Thanks again Lee

      Both will work. I have series on both of them.. remember I have that new videos on fixed wing flight controller choices. Best of luck!

    • @FarmerFpv
      @FarmerFpv 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Painless360 that's right and mine's a little different than yours since it has a elevator in the elevons will actually be ailerons because of the boom kit. So basically it'll be like a skyhunter with a crazy shape lol

    Can you please explain why you said the micro vector is a better choice than Inav, in this instance. I am curious.

    A lot of work for a very expensive model! :)

    • @GarbachNL
      @GarbachNL 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But totally worth it in the end! build it well and you'll end up with one of the nicest flying models you'll ever fly!

      This kit is truly step above most others in terms of quality and durability and performance. "Worth it" is an individual thing.

    I fly quadcopters, but watching this , I’d love to fly fixed wings too. Could I learn on a Mini Drak? I wouldn’t need to upgrade again then. Or is it too advanced for learning on?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d start in something way cheaper. A simple wing would be the best bet. See my videos on tips for learning to fly fixed wing..

    wonder if all the extra work and extra money is going to pay if in the flight characteristics :-) (in comparison with a S800 or similar)

      @GarbachNL 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is! The Mini Drak is an awesome flyer, and really tracks better than anything else I've ever flown, including the caipi 1 and 2, and the original Ritewing Zephyr 1

    Really nice wing, Lee! Really beautiful! 😊
    I've been thinking about making a small wing, maybe with a 1306 or 1407 motor, but I want to make it myself with depron. Already did some searches on Google, but didn't find a good plan yet. (It's going to be my first wing, so I want plans so I don't do anything stupid.) Anyway, I'm going to search more as soon as I have some time. 😊

    My plane brushed the inAV program. Unlocked after unlocking point mode. When the GPS satellite exceeds 9 satellites, it cannot be unlocked in fixed-point mode. In other modes, it can be unlocked. In an outdoor connected computer, a navigation security error occurs in the fixed point mode. What is the reason?

    Sean at Aomway customer services just informed me, that my Aomway Commander goggles I purchased 11 months ago from Banggood, requires a New DVR Board, as it appears to be faulty. On pressing the record button it intermittently does not respond
    I don't mind paying the postage ,but why on earth would the company not cover a faulty part under a warranty
    I am just 1 of many whom have purchased these goggles and only now I am finding out that the customer support from this company is non existent
    Have you had any trouble from Aomway, do you have a story to tell ?
    We need the support from the people we subscribe to as it seems that only then will these companies listen
    Thanks for your support

      That's exactly my point when I reviewed them. These Chinese manufacturers offer a lot of 'bang for the buck' but are tricky if the product arrives DOA or develops a fault..

    hi painless ! i love the shape of the drak or mini drak is a beautiful wing , and can be very fast wing depending on the setup , but i agree with rotomasher ! , it is an expensive wing and you have to do a lot to put it up together, cut the slot for motor mount , cut slots for carbon spars, go on internet for ailerons template and cut them to shape ect,, for me the price of the wing itself is to high considering the amount of foam and labour that you have to invest in the build , it is more for the name ""drak'' thanks

    Great vid! pls pop in one of the new arkbird mini fc. great at 50quid

  • @PiotrMarkiewicz
    @PiotrMarkiewicz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In that expensive model I will expect servo pockets to be made correctly, perpendicular to hinge. This is basic mistake.

    • @scottyh72
      @scottyh72 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris keeps the linkage parallel to the airflow for less drag. The elevons move so little that there really is no binding.

    • @PiotrMarkiewicz
      @PiotrMarkiewicz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drag from pushrods is negligible. In most wings roll moves elevons quite bit. So for me it's still bad design.

    • @scottyh72
      @scottyh72 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Piotr Markiewicz If you haven't flown one, you just don't know. Drag at 120mph is substantial, even on pushrods.

    • @PiotrMarkiewicz
      @PiotrMarkiewicz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok, maybe, I don't fly that fast
