I can't believe that I just watched someone complete Nemesis II using double and down-laser :D I've been playing this on the MSX since 1987 and never used anything else than laser + up-laser + napalm.
I think since the sound emulation isn't running in proper sync with the game, the missed beats are the emulator trying to time everything together again.

The sound is slow, so maybe the emulation speed is not correct?
Could it be that 48,000 Hz (Original) → 44,100 Hz (Real)?
why does the music keep skipping beats?
I don't know, some games have skipping beats(Nemesis 90 Kai is OK). This one is imcomplete(perhaps the emulator version or the game itself).
